Unless you have a $7,000 PC you are not going to be running it at 1600X1200 on max settings and expect to get 60fps!
You hermits only thing the graphics are going to be a slight better that is all.
O god 7000, and I thought the people who said 2000 were nuts :?
2 gigs of ram go for about 150 bucks
Good mobos nowadays are about 100 bucs
640 mb 8800GTS 350 bucks
Conroe duo 150 bucks
Things you probably already have, but if you want to run through them
Sound Card 50 bucks
Case and PSU 100 bucks
DVD burner 20 bucks
920 bucks  and if you dont include all the stuff you probably already have it's 750 bucks and that will run Bioshock at
1600 by 1200 at over 30 frames
 and guess what bioshock 360 is 30 frames buddy  and the PC version has better textures and some nice DX10 effects you don't get
On top of that I thought you should know anyone in the real working world that has a decent job can keep there PC up to date easily
I agree with you, but 360's only cost $350, so you should be getting a better game on PC when you spent more building your rig. My rig I built was only a little over $1,300 with an 8800GTX. It will run BioShock at max specs.

God I am so lucky to got a HDTV to experience Bioshock demo to higher extents. This game is so impressive.I shall keep this demo on my 360 until I gain the full version. Definately will revisit it for the next week or so till it comes out..

yeah im pretty sure ur right, like i dl music of cds i have rather than ripping the music cuz its easier and faster to just download off limewire
OMG, when I came out from underwater and it showed the incredible water textures, I though it was still part of the cut scene. After a few seconds I finally pushed up on the analog stick and realized that these were the actual gameplay graphics. Incredible.ganon546
same exact thing here, i was sitting there for a while then also when u first enter the tower and it goes dark adn the lights turn on, i thought that was another cut scene and sat before moving lol!
When i first started to play the demoi got out ofthewater which looked amazing by the way, i then steppedon the stairswere i would reach a building that would take me to rapture in a sub. The stairs looked amazing they wereperfect, i just stared at them, i was saying to myselfwho needs a computer to play thisgame when it looks beatifulon the 360.

I agree, all of the game looked amazing like the lighting and of coarse the water, I've only played it in sd and there were afew jaggies, it was hardly a problem and I wouldn't be surprised if they all disappear in hd. The way the light reflects off the water is amazing!!
It does indeed look great on the 360, but it also looks like it's running at 30fps. Decent PCs will be running it a lot more smoothly.myke2010
That reminds me, lol the frame rate also dropped a tiny little bit when alot is going on......lol i bet I'm sounding like a fanboy so I'm just going to say that i HAVE actually played the demo and i thought it was an amazing game and i think it will win GOTY.

You are allowed to make a backup copy of your game inwhich if damage occured to the original one or so.If that happens, you have that backup which you are only allowed to use.You aren't allowed to use copies of others of the game game, only if the copy was tooken by yours. You own that data to a certian extent. Just because you own that title, does not give you the rightto find and download copies of that content. Downloadingmusic off sites and ripping it to a backup cd of your music is different. Roms on the internet areillegal and that24 hours deal is just so thre is less chance the people who uploaded it could get in trouble. Owning a copy of the 360 version does give youany ownage of the PC version.

I'm in the middle of building my new pc that will easily be able to run bioshock max but it wont be finished by the time bioshock is out and i have no problem at all getting it for 360, with a game like this i couldn't really care less about the graphics, although they are some of the best on 360...
It looks good enough. Now hush, you laugher of lemmings. Ken Levine, in his podcast yesterday, said the Xbox 360 performed marvelously for this game. You're arguing over percentages and fractions here. No one is denying that PC will look the best, but at the same time, it's not going to look like a *completely* new game either. The 360 version won't be THAT far behind as other past PC vs. console games. The 3-core Xbox 360 is not exactly some pushover you can bully around!!!11 We got 1MB L2 cache!PhoebusFlows

Fact is consoles are becoming more appealing to developers and its now showing. Not a ton of PC exclusives that are just gonna make people go buy a new GPU or OS. This coming from a hardcore PC gamer.
I actually found this quote from Chris Kline to end the framerate debate once and for all at : http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1615698 "On the XBox 360 it is locked at 30 or 60 fps, depending on the situation. There is also an option to disable locking so you can play with the fastest possible framerate (though this may result in occasional "tearing"). The game has a very smooth framerate. The programmers put a ton of work into making sure the game could handle all the crazy combat situations you'll get yourself into (along with the resulting over-the-top visual effects) without hitching or slowing down." -Chris Kline, Lead Programmer, Bioshockmyke2010
Thats awesome, iv never herd of a console game with settings like that, Its impressive they can get the game at times to run at 60fps, its obvious they have put alot of work into this game and I'm happy they got the game to work so well on the 360.

sweet, rock on. Hopefully the GS review (or IGN) can shed some light on how they compare.
Also, whatI wanted to ask was did anyone else have troubles aiming. I had a definite hard time shooting those flying things (sorry I don't know what they're called). But those damn things almost killed me because of the aiming.

This thread is still going?
Only cows who never played the demo would deny that Bioshock is the best looking title out yet.
And they would be wrong.
First off, the game looks amazing. It exceeded my expectations by a large margin. I'm still on the fence though if I should get it for the 360 or PC. According to PC Gamer the game is very very well optimized. I have a 8800 GTS, but honestly I'm not impressed by it. I have an evga one and I might actually get the 640 one. I know I know, according to benchmarks there are almost no differences, but based on user reviews there are.
I tried COH in DX 10 and it was god aweful at 1280 X 800. I really need a demo for the PC to seal my decision. Then again, COH DX 10 was an afterthought.
I have a 8800gtx and it has not come close to breaking a sweat in any game at 1600x1200 seeing the demo run on the 360 why should the pc version need sli ??All you people who have one 8800 card think you are going to run Bioshock at max settings in DX10 better think again.
PS3_3DO
Really unless I am running some insane rez at max settings then I doubt I will need sli for bioshock. If anything dx10 should run faster than dx9.c mode.

I don't have any qualms about my 640......I run Oblivion at 60 FPS - its locked of course with v-sync on -(with occasional dips for loading areas of course)w/maxed out everything on outdoor environments. It's a solid card.
EDIT: I play at 1680x1050
