I dont know much about the 360 version but the PC is filled with audio problems. :(

SXG

Nahhhhh. If you have no sound its because you have onboard sound and you need to enable a couple options for the exe. If it stutters, your pc can't keep up. Basically.

Wrong. Alot of people experienced audio popping even with soundcards and such even Irrational (I will NOTcall them 2KBoston) acknowledges this since they said in their own forums. My PC runs the game at an constant 60-70 frames per second on max without an hitch so I never experienced stutterring (Windows XP, so no DX10 use here).

For me, I get no sound effects on rare occasions whilst hacking a machine. You can hear the music and the machine whirring and whatnot, but none of the pip-switching sounds and the flowing of the liquid.

Not a single stutter the entire time ive played it.kevy619

Have you beaten the game? Because they say it starts up about half way through. I know on my PC version I'm getting like 1-2 second stutters in fort frolic and the Haephastus (something like that) level. It usually happens when a splicer is right up in my face though.

I haven't had stutter problems like that, but the game has slowed down to about 5 FPS :|. It was like playing a game that my 360 couldn't handle (like what my PC does with good looking games :P).

It was unplayable and didn't fix itself, so I had to reset the console.

The game runs great for me and I'm like 60% or so done the game and my bro's played it for like maybe 30% too. No problems or issues like that. I think this was a thing that happened for Jeff or what's his name

[QUOTE="Danthegamingman"]I have played it for a good 25 hours with some 4 and 5 hour sessions and I have not seen these hiccups Jeff G was talking about in his review. Gamespot should revise their review, its obviously their X360 has problems or its their review copy of the game.marioraider

They aren't going to re-review it. They would have already.

They will if their 360 dies in the near future or if its a problem with the disk instead of the actual game. Considering the split between people who have had no problems and people who have it sounds like more of a hardware issue than something thats wrong with the game, and therefore it shouldn't affect the review.

Well, maybe something IN the game causes some of the technical shortcomings. But it doesn't matter, those freezes and bugs don't represent the score in it's entirity, and I don't think that they will bump up the grade to a 9.5. Just seems too much.

Possible memory leakage?

I went through one play through. There may have been a moment of framerate drop, but nothing worth mentioning. It might have even been my head playing tricks on me, since reading the review and all.

My 360 must hate me then :P I am on the computer atm because I'm letting it take a break. It started stuttering on me every 30 seconds or so. It freezes up for 2 or 3 seconds then jumps back to the action. Made taking down a Rosie rather annoying so here I sit.

Well damn. I've come to the conclusion it's not Bioshock in my case. The colors all went funny and the screen is freaking out even in the dashboard. I think my 360 may be in it's death throes.....

I'm playing the PC version --- it has lagged up for a few seconds twice, and the game has actually crashed several times :?

normally I'd be pretty pissed, but this game is just so good aside from these technical issues that I'm still enjoying it

buh buh buh teh 3 core processor is so superior to teh cell!!

Using Lemming logic....360 fails because it is having issues running Bioshock (even in GS review they say issues occur).

It's not the developers fault at all, it's purely the 360's architecture.

The same thing happend to me once. I tuned off the console and then back on and hasent happened since. I dont think 9.0 is unfair. Its a great game but I had more fun with gears *last year* 9.6 so I think is a good review. Every year standerds go up. Last year this would have been 9.5 for sure.

I'm playing the PC version, and it runs silky smooth. Gamespot's review is garbage, and is a demand for attention.

Sillky smooth all the way through, even after almost 5 hours with the 360 on.

Gamespot has a defective copy or 360, I would guess.

I doubt it. From what I played it didn't have problems. Besides that they said it started happening after a long duration of play time didn't they? Hell the only problem I've had was running out of ammo when I start a fight with a big daddy...lol

Here's the description. I've had this in Call of Duty 2. It basically gets a performance drop in places that it shouldn't have.

I've played the 360 version on an SDTV with Unlock Frames on and encountered no noticeable frame rate problems or slow downs on my first playthrough.

Edit: I really suspect the resolution for some reason.

It's stuttered on me a couple times, and has completely froze about 2-3 times. It could be my Xbox, but no other game does this.

The whole Bioshock review think is just a publicity stunt. The glitch is entirely made up for and excuse to lower the score. Come on a6 Hour repetitive duck, pop and shoot fest >> than a 20 Hour orginal and atmosperic masterpeice.

The game froze twice during my playthrough of Bioshock. I was fine with it, considering all the problems that some people experienced with the PC version. Honestly, a couple freezes shouldn't keep anyone from playing through a truly great experience.

Buttery smooth.  The only flaw I've seen the entire time is a design flaw - the little sisters will run to a hiding spot, while you're busy tangling with big daddy.  Sure, it's smart on their part, but it's frustrating to finish off BD, only to get no reward whatsoever.

No pauses. But sometimes my character would randomly fly around the screen for a few seconds, it was annoying.
