Bioware is my favorite developer but...

i think he is right casey. you shouldnt overlook the accomplishments of a game because it is not shared in achievments here at gs. and it's not like football and baseball. maybe american baseball v.s the world baseball. but your comparing apples to oranges when really it's red apples versus green apples. football v.s baseball is dramatic for vg site v.s a vg site.

system wars is a game. games have rules. a system wars rule is that gs is the only review source that matters. if you want to be happy with a game because of what it won elsewhere, that's great. just don't try to use it here.

There are many reasons why people do it i think, fanboys like to over hype simply because i think in their mind creating the hype will gain them more followers to their "side".

They hype X as AAA/GOTY and people read their thread and wonder "wow, is it really that good? maybe it is..." thats what i think goes through their heads hehe, and the more threads hyping it like that the more likly people will think that (again in their mind) so they hype hype and maybe add a little more hype for good measure....

If everyone was more about the games and wanted to play the system wars game better... almost all good games would be AA hype or at most low AAA hype i think. In the end Casey there is nothing you can do :) so i wouldn't bother trying to fix the problem.

Baldur's Gate 2 was bioware developed.  It scored a 9.2 here and Greg K basically proclaimed it as one of the best rpgs that he ever played.  The fact that crappier games have scored higher here is an insult to the gaming world. 

Recently, however, bioware's games have not been as good.  So while everyone seems to be hyping mass effect, I am a little more cautious.  I am one of the few people who think that KOTOR was a step down from the BG series - not b/c KOTOR was bad but just because BG was so great.

I honestly don't care what Mass Effect gets score-wise. I just want to play it. :)Baird-06

To be honest, KOTOR was far better than WW.  It should have gotten GOTY here in 2003. 

From what I seen of this game and without playing it. My rating right now (based on Gamespot rating system) would be.

8.9

I am kinda fearing this game will turn into another Oblivion. Same voice for each race. Same face for each race. Repetitive zones/areas. I would score it lower just for that.
