Bioware makes fun of the whole Spider-Man "puddle is smaller therefore downgrade!!!" thing.

At Pax West recently Bioware took to the stage to show off Anthem, and in the process poked fun at the accusations of graphical downgrades in the new PS4 Spider-Man (which Insomnia has confirmed are completely unfounded) based off of the slimmest of evidence. The quote is in bold below. Just thought it was a funny moment. Carry on.

At this point, the producer laughed to himself and said "Yes, that's a puddle," before hilariously poking fun at the latest debacle to haunt Insomniac Games.

He began the joke by saying "You'll see the puddle, right there." He continued to jest about the entire Spidey debacle by saying, "So before we move on, there's a 98% chance that that puddle will be changed, moved, reduced ..."

Lets see if they're still laughing when EA shuts their doors in 2019.

However Dreamcast guy made his video now that he has beaten the main story and majority of side quests in Spiderman. Its just his opinion. He makes a point of the fact that downgrades aren't uncommon and I said that when this all began as well. I am still eagerly anticipating this day one. But Dreamcast does agree yes there is a downgrade.

I don't care what Insomniac says. They have a major vested interest in people believing it wasn't downgraded LOL. You have to be a super Cow or imbecile to take their word for it. To say accusations are "unfounded" is absurd because we can all see the change.

I don't understand how people get so worked up over this ****. There may be noticeable differences in screenshots, changes are inherent to game development, but when played are these people going to be pausing every few seconds for contrast to pre-release media? Damn, Idon't even have a life and I say to these people to get one. There are greater things to be concerned over.

Okey doke. Im still going to believe what I have seen until I get the game and play it for myself to further clarify. I see clear differences in the parts available to compare.

The same could be said about a multitude of miniscule things in gaming that gamers made a thing over. Recently it was said FH4 was downgraded. So people shouldn't say it when they see discrepancies with Spiderman? Its the inconsistency of people that causes the "worked up" imo.

There are greater things to be concerned over and the political forum is a place to discuss them. SW is for pettiness and laughing at each other.

If Anthem doesn't make it, it's bye bye Bioware.

@gamecubepad: There are YouTube videos comparing identical scenes. A good portion of them look better in the final build. That would not be the case for a downgrade.

This shit gets balanced out, but downgrades do happen. It's not so bad with consoles, because it's understandable... Fixed hardware is a fact of life. Were the game to be downgraded to the point that it directly affects gameplay, i'd be far more bothered.

I'll wait to see how it plays out, as a number of techniques took a hit in that scene. I have a Pro, so i'llbe able to see if it's a Pro vs. base PS4 situation.

A difference isn't always a downgrade.

There are youtubers done with the game that are stating it is downgraded as well.

I'll wait until I see it for myself to be sure is all Im saying.

Sometimes a difference is just a difference. Something that was changed. It's not always related to performance.

It goes a long way for smart people to show how stupid dumb people are when said dumb people are being stupid.

Sony wanted to sell PS4 Pros with the help of spiderman. Therefore they asked Insomniac to make sure Pro version was markedly superior.

So the downgrading is real issue and will raise lot of noise when the game launches.

I don't really know why people are being ridiculed for thinking it has been downgraded. It's not like we haven't had games advertised looking a certain way only to have the final product look much worse. Maybe people are grasping at straws a bit here, but you can understand their sensitivity to this kind of thing.

The newer image does look worse in my opinion, but if the game has a dynamic day/night cycle, it's only natural that certain scenes look better during certain periods of the day. If that's all it is, then cool. We'll know for sure when the game comes out.

This just seems like a gamers being gamers thing to me, the game is out on Friday if you want it go buy it, will you notice this kind of thing when you're playing? doubt it, I happen to agree the latest round of images don't have the sheen of some of the older images but I really don't think it's a massive issue nor will it detract from anyone's enjoyment of the game.

This from the faction who believe a cloud of servers would turn the xbox into a powerhouse and over take the PS4 graphically,and don't get me started on DX12.

From the shots available, the difference doesn't look better imo. If you like the washed out look to his costume in the recent shot, have at it.
