They seem a bit disappointed, however they did state it was alpha heavily patched into beta.

they say it gets BORING after 15 minutes. he, he..
surely it will be interesting for at least a half hour longer.
Crysis just keeps falling down the downgrade hole. It sounds like they spent too much time on graphics and not enough on gameplay. JiveT
Well then, kind sir, would you like to make a bet?
"Yeah, it got about as boring as that could after about 15 minutes(running around easily killing everything), Of course, we later tried it on "Ultra Hard" difficulty and, not surprisingly, that delivered a much more intensive experience"Harbadakus
ye lol, they should make it an intensive experience on the normal setting. Most people when they start a game almost always go for the normal difficulty, some go to the hard.

Did you read it all? I could say any game on Very Easy is boring ... hence why I always choose normal on a new game.
they tried on normal too

Funny that I thought HL 2 or Prey were good games too even on the lowest difficulty setting. Harder doesn't actually mean more fun.
This preview is pretty lame. "We played it on easy and it was too easy. Then we played it on the hardest difficulty and it was too hard." "Hey, lets also complain about button layout even though it IS CHANGEABLE." This preview sucks. organic_machine
i don't remember them complaining when they turned the difficulty up

Yeah, except their complaint was that it was too easy :|
Oh yea, isnt this just the E3 2007 build? I'm not the slightest bit worried ... just showing a level with no motive is infact a tech demo anyway .... if you showed any other game it would be the same ... hell if Bioshock just shove you in a certain corridor and made you run around it woudl be boring.
Crytek's mistake from not starting from the beggining ... and its still 3 months off, the AI will be fixed.

Yeah, I may be the few people who kinda liked it :P
The way I see it then, is that you need to play Crysis on the highest difficulty setting to get most out of the enemy AI. I don't play games on hard settings because I don't like getting killed all the time but in this case, I don't like to have a weak enemy AI.
"It was actually an alpha that was heavily patched to beta...having said that, though, it was certainly more playable and stable than what we're used to at this early stage in a game's life."
I hope it gets better, I don't mind an easy game, I've played lot of easy games where I never died once and still enjoyed them, and you gotta remember that they were fighting the Koreans in the demo, I think it's supposed to feel easy in that uber-suit, and when the Aliens come it gets harder, just like in Farcry. But the AI has to work no matter what, and I believe it will in the final version. Crysis will propably follow the same patter as FarCry, and those who liked it will like Crysis also. Personally I'm hoping for a good story this time around ..and I'm also now officially hyping Hellgate as the best PC exclusive this year.
LOL, this game is going to flop.

Did you even read how idiotic the preview was? Did you read all the other impressions saying almost nothing but good things about the game? Guess not......
Fact is, there are bad impressions like this for just about every game.
Although I never read Bit-tech previews, it brings up thefear that Crysis may actually be all graphics but questionable gameplay.
But of course this is bit-tech.

For the love of god, there are bad impressions on just about every game. Why do people only listen to the negative ones? Just about every impression for E3 has said almost nothing but good things about Crysis. Go read the thread I just posted on the Tom's Hardware preview from E3. Oh wait, nobody cares about good impressions, that's right. My bad.

That was posted on the incrysis forums. If you are fairly knowledgable about the game, you'll realize that it's a terrible article and preview of the game. They played through it like a normal FPS not really using the nano-suit too much it seems like. They complained about it not being "linear" enough. All the other impressions from E3 said that they loved it and wanted to play more. Read the new Toms-Hardware article on Crysis. They said nothing but good things about it and said they would be surprised at all if it was the best FPS in 2007 and 2008. They also stated that it looks to be a genre-redfining game, and will have all the FPS's for the next decade copying from it. trix5817
they played it like a normal fps? well how else would you play an fps? And they said that there needs to be a balance between open endness and forcibility i.e. linear. Kind of like far cry in the first half of the game before all the monster crap came in to play. Quite honestly i actually understood where this preview was coming from. From a game like crysis you expect a lot. All the aesthetics look and sound great. They used the nano-suit just as much as it was needed it to.
I think it was a bit silly how they complained about controls when they could be assigned to the keyboard anyway.
This game wont flop, but i think if things arent patched up it might disapoint a bit. They got plenty of time to do so though.
This auto health re-charge crap seems to be popular in newer FPS. tramp
I find it good with fps. I think it was a major improvement when it was added to call of duty 2. The fact that i had to search for health packs before i went into another battle in call of duty 1 detracted from the gameplay a bit. I think in FPSs now you can never know how much health you can afford to lose in any stage, whereas this system kind of makes it more 'fair' i guess.
I keep hearing conflicting reports. organic_machinelack of unanimous praise = mediocre game scores. expect it.

What I was saying is that it didn't seem that they took advantage of all Crysis' features, like the nano-suit. It seems as if they rushed through it, following the main path running 'n' gunning, not planning any tactics, just like a normal FPS would be played.

Like what? I guess you and many others in this thread didn't read all of the impressions of Crysis from E3, which said almost nothing but good things about Crysis. Go to my thread and read the Tom's Hardware preview from E3 please. Oh wait, you only read the negative preview (which just about ever game has). Interesting........

This was the only bad preview from E3 I've read. It was also from the first level of the game, which is designed to get players used to the controls and gameplay mechanics.

Wow, it appears you haven't read up on Crysis too much. Basically what your saying, is that open-ended FPS's, and that someone should hold your hand through an FPS. I guess you are a big fan of linear FPS's then. I don't think you'll like BioShock, considering it is similar to Crysis in which it provides for endless possibilites, is not linear, and can be played in many different ways. You can go run 'n' gunning all the way through BioShock and play it like a normal, linear FPS, but why would you? Same goes for Crysis......

Yep. Crytek even stated that if you choose to run 'n' gun through the whole game, you're going to have a much more difficult time getting through the game. Remember, the E3 demo was part of the first level of the game. It's designed to get you used to the controls and gameplay mechanics. They also played it on the easiest difficulty setting, but when the switched to a harder difficulty they said.....well.....it got much more difficult. What a surprise!
