Man, I'm so sick of these types of threads! All they do is let "in-the-closet" racist have a place to insult others(this includes you TC). Take GrumpyWalrus for example. You can't be American/French/English or this must be very hard times for you. A persons skin color no longer dicates their personality.

Either way it doesn't matter if you never buy a game with a none white characters because fortunately there's enough people in the world that just don't give a damn what color video game characters are.

Personally, I would like a game based off the Yakuza/Triads (yeah, I know GTA: China Town). I think for the most part it's an untaped part of the GTA world. And this is not a race thing it's a cultural one.

ugh, the only game that i liked is GTA 3. after that, all GTA games are recycled garbage. seriously. sex, drugs, guns, and alot of swearing. Has Rockstar ran out of ideas and stories to tell? also, dubbers trying to sound italian/russian/mexican etc. i mean come on. at least hire someone who can really speak the native language.

the worst part of GTA games is the story. Yakuza beats GTA by miles. i jsut hope they'd bring back the GTA 3 formula. make it more like Scarface than rims, bling, or whatnots. the only thing i hate about the black culture is modern rap. totally sucks big time. rap today is like GTA. the lyrics are just sex, drugs, foul language, guns, etc. and here i wonder whatever happened to Run DMC, GrandMasterFlash, even Tupac Shakur. i'd be damned if the next GTA will have a 50 cent or Soulja Boy soundtrack. eeewww....i'd rather have John Legend, please.

No, I cannot. I am white and I "identify" more with white people. That is not to say I do not like black people, I like them fine. In a little less than a year I will be serving in the Marine Corps (currently in the DEP) and I am sure many of my fellow recruits at the time will be of black,latino,asian,etc ethnicity. That does not phase me in the slightest and I am completely ok with that. I just enjoy playing white main characters because it is easier to "relate" to. Asians as well but that is a different story.

And no, I know full well people of all ethnicity "run" with street gangs, I would shun those games equally as well. Mafia and organized crime games are exempt because they do not glorify that horrid "rap" and "gangSTA" subculture.

Honestly I do not know why this is a big deal to people, it is my personal opinion. I am not preaching that games with black characters should not be made, if it is what you enjoy by all means enjoy it.

Hmm. I don't remember much from the story line... and I have the damn game on my PC, Xbox, and PS2. lol. I only just started playing it again on PC like... last week. I agree with you 100%..... I hate the whole "look at me I'm uneducated, aren't I cool" attitude, aka. People who call themselves "gangsta" and their idea of culture is the latest rap album.

And no I'm not saying all black people are this.... I'm saying thats how criminals of that ethnic group are, or at least the ones that exist in North America.

So please don't say I'm racist, I have nothing against black people or any other ethic group. If the character was black and more of a computer nerd criminal, hacking ATM's and whatnot, and gets better at using guns, by using them.... adding to the idea that he isn't a stereotypical african american criminal.... then I'd be all over it.....

Come to think of it, I really like the idea of the next MAIN character being a black, computer nerd who uses his skills and intelligence to do what he needs to do..... having his aiming skills improve based on how much he uses a weapon.... so at the beginning he can't hit diddly, because (storywise) he doesnt have any experience with firearms.
