Eh, Lambda is Nu V1.5, not really a new character in my opinion. I haven't played it yet, but I believe that that's what the story and gameplay support.siLVURcross
Hazama, Tsubaki and Mu are the new characters that come with the retail version. Other characters(+3-4 characters) are inbound via DLC.

K, guns.
Yes! Guns, now I have to add this game to ma' buy list.
Guess ill post it here.
Bough Calamity Trigger today. Initial impressions: Damn.....this is one gorgeous game, ive seen pics and videos but nothing beats seeing it on screen. From what little ive played i can easily say it ranks with the best fighters. Ive just never experienced anything like this. The last time i had to learn new fighting mechanics was......Soul Calibur i think? and that was over 10 years ago. It just feels really weird playing a fighter for the first time and not feeling at home initially. It looks like its pretty simple to get good and impossibly hard to master. And i cant wait to unravel it in the coming months.
I can't wait for it to be out in europe so i want to import a US copy, but does anyone know where i can import from? Play-asisa doesnt deliver sony stuff to europe for some reason :? If anyone does know could they please message me? I probably wont be able to find this thread by the next time im online.Yo-gan
Try eBay, I got tons of new games there and it's way cheaper than retail.

WHAT!!!! That is such crap. Those characters better be FREE otherwise I won't even bother buying the game. They resell us the same, albeit, good game with very few changes and then DARE to hold extra characters hostage via DLC. I am holding off my purchase now until I find out if these characters are free or not. If you have to pay, then I consider this release a rip off and refuse to support it.
Yep, and you can check out one of the DLC characters here:

Then just don't buy it, the game was $40, so I'm fine with buying one or more DLC characters.
Can someone just give me a beginners breakdown of Blazblue? I just have no idea how its supposed to play, theres nothing like it. Is it Street Fighter with directional input + attack or tekken with attack chains? I only played 2 matches yesterday and will be playing it again later today. If not, is there a good site i can go to?

The first one is generally for more advanced strategies in character specific boards.
Yes but the point of buying it for 40 was to get the extra stuff for this game. It's not a sequel and most of the characters and gameplay is the same so the justification for a re-release is that you are paying for the content in the old one and some extra goodies. Seeing as there wasn't much extra in terms of extra goodies for this release I feel I am more then justified in feeling disappointed. I mean heck, just look at SSF4. They added extra online play modes with plenty of extra characters for 40 dollars. This game doesn't come close to the amount of additions and now they might possibly charge you for extra characters, after paying an extra 40 dollars for a minor upgrade. I am unhappy because I really loved Blazblue but am against devs charging extra for characters. Charge all you want for costumes and colors but charging for characters after buying the same game twice is crap.Then just don't buy it, the game was $40, so I'm fine with buying one or more DLC characters.

Isn't this the game that comes with a tutorial that actually teaches and shows you combos, special moves and basic gameplay tactics for every character? I think that would make it a lot easier to get into, especially compared to SF4's pretty horrible tutorial. Story in a fighter is pretty irrelevant so I'm not sure why that's in there as a con. It'd be like seeing, "the start menu looks boring" as a con.
Anyways, I think I'll pick this up. I always wanted to play the first one but now I can buy a better version for less. I'm impressed that a small developer managed to do HD sprites despite gaming "journalist" and Capcom saying that doing HD sprites would take a trillion man hours, cost roughly 4.7 billion dollars and require 2.4 terabytes of console storage space.

BBCS is going leaps and bounds further with the continued storyline (and one with a huge twist in it that'll keep fans engaged and wanting to see what's going to happen next in the next sequel). The Tutorials are also a nice new feature, and so is the new"Legion" mode (which is something like a Campaign game involving invasion of territories). And keep in mind that the first Blazblue game had a rather small cast to begin with, so I didn't really expect that many new characters (numerically speaking) in the sequel. In fact personally I was only expecting 1 or two new playable characters in CS and I was fine with that; but Arksys went further and gave us5 (2 built in and 3 DLC), and all of them very unique and new indeed (not remakes of existing characters).
Just for comparison, how did Calamity Trigger fare when it came out?This is to let everyone know that GameSpot has recently posted the reviews for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and gave them 8.0 scores.
Link (PS3), Link 2 (Xbox 360)
Review summary:
The Good
* Terrific roster with incredibly varied characters
* Very deep fighting mechanics
* Beautiful and distinctive visuals
* New Tutorial and Challenge modes make the action more accessible
* Great online competition.
The Bad
* Still daunting and difficult for newcomers
* Weak storytelling
* Only three new characters.thom_maytees

Perhaps the reason there are so few characters is that Arc System is picking up where SNK left off in terms of its character art. Unlike most other fighters which have moved on to 3D modeling, Arc System still appears to stick old school with its cel animation technique(unless someone can point to otherwise).Underrated, yet again. Best fighting game I've ever played. Not sure what the 'still daunting for newcomers' is about. There's a great tutorial and challenges that really help you get a good understanding of the mechanics and how each character plays. When I fist played CT I was basically newcomer to fighters and still found it fun and CS makes it even easier for newcomers. Its one of those easy to play, hard to master kind of games.
Has a fighter ever had a good story?
Still buying it to make up for not getting the 1st.

I suggest reading biographies of Wong Fei Hung and Yip Man. classic fighters imo
[QUOTE="toxicmog"]how did SF4 score so high when its story is ten times more tripe... BlazeBlue = win ;)yoshi_64If you read the review it said that SSFIV had more bang for the buck basically and is priced the same as BB: CS, so it's not easy to recommend BB: CS over SSF IV in terms of extra content delivered, since BB: CS added only 3 new characters, a few new modes, and SSF IV adds like 10 new characters, and a bunch of extra things for you to unlock along with the expected character balancing/tweaking from the past game. It's not SF IV vs BB: CS, but SSF IV vs BB: CS
