Blizzard owns the RTS genre? HAHAHAH No they dont. SC 2 may get more sales, but their are plenty of better RTS games out there.

Like? I'm pretty sure you are going to mention a Relic game while ignoring the fact that CoH has been reduced to a comp stomp fest due to its inherent imbalances, AI issues, and screwy pathing, all the while DoW2 suffers from a lack of depth as well as shotty balance and support from Relic. The added units helped DoW2, but it continues to be flat and only enjoyed by the 3v3 crowd. C&C4 is a train wreck, Red Alert 3 is dead, and Men of War has a funky setup multiplayer wise. If you mention a Total War game, you'd be automatically wrong in doing so.
All in all, Starcraft 2 pretty much offers balance and variety in all fronts. Even if you do not like 1v1, you can find something else more enjoyable, be it team play, FFAs, and custom games. It would accurate to say that more people are playing Blizzard RTS games longer than any other RTS game. I'd say that is pretty much owning the genre.
No, in fact, Total war is funner than SC2. Dawn of war 2 and Chaos rising are better games. This isnt only about balance, I am talking about game quality and CoH is much better than SC 2 in game quality anf fun aspect. Hell, even Dawn of war 1 is a better game and Dawn of war 1 is also better than dawn of war 2. Blizzard only have SC 2 compared to all the RTS Relic have put out inbetween Frozen Throne and release of SC 2. Blizzard make a few and have spent much more time on these games thus have the advantage of time and funding. Relic is a more limited budget from THQ have put out so much better. Homeworld Series was also amazing. Relic are overall better RTS developers than Blizzard considering limited resource and their quality.
You are just saying one is more fun than the other, not so much why is one better than the other. I'm not going to argue your definition of fun, that would be pointless. However, I already argued why the quality is better in a standard Blizzard RTS than a Relic RTS. Lets face it, no one out-supports Blizzard in their games and that support carries the game further than unique interpretations of a genre, especially when quality is concerned. It has little to do with resources and more to do with devotion.
