I'm honestly starting to think bloodborne is getting a bit overrated. The combat is the best it's ever been but game is really light on content compared to other souls games, the pvp and co-op seem pretty gimped and the chalice dungeons are a huge missed opportunity

The saddest part is that the Souls community is setting itself up for a nasty backlash. One the series doesnt deserve.

Stop dragging down other game series in order to praise the Souls games. Stop asking for completely unrelated and different franchises to be more like Bloodborne. Stop using it as a badge of your good taste and skill.

This kind of pretentious shit does nothing but generate resentment towards the series among people sick of being preached The Word of The Souls Games by fans that act like fucking obsessed cult recruiters or a teenager that touched a tit for the first time and cant shut the **** up about it.

Nah I'd rather Zelda take a more Elder Scrolls route with Dragon's Dogma style combat (more arcadey).

I've never really thought about it, but it would work really well with the Souls formula. However, Zelda's very plot-motivated, and the Souls series doesn't really excel in that. There are other open world franchises and games that do stories better.

In terms of graphics though, YES.

I can quote plenty of good lines from movies that i think suck ass, that won't change my general impression on said movies. Same goes for your example here. Exceptions always exist, they don't change my general impression.

So to say this was a "homage" to re4 is ridiculous. There are no snake heads in re4. There are people with heads that explode into something which moves, but they are tackled completely differently.

Bloodborne reminded me of RE4 a lot too. Way too many similarities going on to be just a coincidence, I don't get why you would be offended by that. Because they're not completely original with the setting and enemies the game suffers from it? Stop being a fanboy.

Zelda is perfection and doesn't need to be like any other game, it's one of the greatest series of games ever made that continue to deliver some of the best and most critically acclaimed games that have shaped the industry

I don't know if this is in Bloodborne but I thought the blood stains mechanic was a really cool gameplay feature in Dark Souls, more games should use that. It works perfectly with the game's high difficulty level.

I get the feeling most people didn't even read the OP before replying.

I came in ready to say no, but after reading his points I see where he is coming from. Other than that, it's funny to see how many people who obviously never played Bloodborne have come in a rage to tell people how Charizard has no points and saying things like Dark Souls 1 is better at the things he mentioned.

I can see that many of the posters disagreeing have only played Dark Souls and think that have merit to speak on this topic and interchange it with Bloodborne as if they are the same or some non-sense when Demon's Souls is the game it is orchestrated from and aside from fast gameplay has all the elements he mentioned even better form than Bloodborne, but, Dark Souls not close. .

Nobody has to really read his whole post. The point here is that the Souls games, be it BB or not, are what many 3rd person action rpgs 'should' be - that's the kind of feeling well designed games end up giving. So it doesn't have to be Zelda. In many ways, there are at least 2 or 3 things that the Elder Scrolls could really borrow from BB as well. So making a thread comparing a 3rd person game to any Souls games tend to give it a 'no brainer' vibe. That's like saying "Resident Evil should really be more like The Last of Us". You can't help but just say "Of course it does"....even before finishing the whole post

@charizard1605: Yep, and it wasn't a criticism. I think your OP was fair, and wasn't an attack on zelda at all. I think Bloodborne does a lot right, there have been certain challenges when going to 3D that have rarely been excelled. Look at the tightness and combat of castlevania 2D vs 3D.

Now I don't believe the combat is awful, but the only reason its memorable is its difficulty or chance of dying. Its not like Ninja Gaiden or Bayonetta which are memorable because of the speed and combinations you will need to master, or how badass they look. These Souls games combat isn't as fun as those games imo. But the challenge of the game is what makes the game fun. I remember beating Father Gasciogne but I don't know with what strike. I still remember beating the final boss in NG with an Izuna drop.

I love Zelda, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne but i disagree about Bloodborne being more dense than Dark Souls. The lack of varying playstyles, loot, environment variety, and linearity compared to DS makes Bloodborne less replayable in my opinion. I think Zelda is fine the way it is but they would be awesome if they included a harder difficulty similar to Dark Souls or included different weapons/loot

Do people truly believe this bs in 2015? Games long surpassed Zelda in pretty much all departments. I know they're trying to do new things in this Zelda but its just bigger, bigger like SoC, completely pointless emptyness for you to travel on the back of your horse. Don't think this one will be any better than Twilight Princess (other than art style).
