By June 29, I would have 3 PS3 games, and 2 Blu-Ray films, one of them being BBC's Planet Earth Documentary.
At one point, the DVD format would drop out, and Blu-Ray will take over. HD-DVD has already lost, so it can only move in one direction.
Not everyone's got an HDTV just yet, so wait until most of N.A., Europe have HDTVs as the only available options on the market. When that time comes, Blu-Ray will blossom.

You will absolutely love Planet Earth in hi-def. Got the 4 disc blu-ray from bestbuy on monday for $52 and I'm loving it. Truly epic and a must own for blu-ray owners.
I own 0.0 BR movies, I dont have an HD Tv and My Ps3 was bough entirely for gaming purposes So yeah Sony has to do a better job selling stand alone BR players.
So did movie studies predict wrong that PS3 owners will buy movies. I mean HD-DVD jump ship to Blu Ray.
about 85% of blu ray players are PS3s. Sony needs to do a better job of selling standalone Bluray player and get ps3 owners to buy movies.

I think you are missing the point...... Sony deliberatley priced their PS3 below standalone Blu-Ray players so thatpeople would buy the PS3 as both the gaming and the movie watching choice. In addition, the PS3, as a Blu-Ray player, can easily be updated with new firmware making it future proof. It is the logical choice for a Blu-Ray player. And as for movie buying, the market has just come out of a format war that stalled the integration of a new format. The main bulk of this problem may be behind us, but it's not goiing to be an overnight transition from the old format to a fresh new one. It'll start happening when companies start offering more competitive prices on Blu-Ray discs.
