After playing the demo, I'm surprised that it got that high of a review. I like RPGs, but that one seemed kind of boring to me

I didn't really like the demo at all, it was kind of slow paced and to easy. I mean, I killed most of the enemies in about 1 hit. I can't say the same about the actual game because I haven't played it yet....

I'm very skeptical of this game... lately most of the info has been bad or average at best... so I imagine I'll pass on this.... sux, cuz I've been looking forward to a good JRPG for a long time.... oh well, I've got plenty of games to keep me busy while i wait.

It just seems geared towards a younger audience which in turn off a lot of people.

It could get 10's across the board and I wouldn't care. I was pretty disappointed with the demo, and it's really fallen on my list of priorities.

Congrats, you've just laughed at a joke that no one else gets. What has made you think that they're not a reputable site?

Mixed reviews, although the majority of reviewsprove that BD is an average game at best, I highly doubt it will be an AAA game here, since it only has an 81% on Game Rankings. If it does get AAA, I will be owned, if not then my predictions of it being a mediocre JRPG would be correct.

Feel the same yet I cant help but think that MS released the wrong part of the game to be used as a demo.

Much the same when I played the fist Kameo demo and thought - nah I wont buy that one - then I seen the game open up and kameo turned out to be great.

Still I dunno if I'll buy or not.

And? Didn't Lair get some AAA reviews as well? I'm still convinced that this game will be fortunate to score in the AA range.

I am really hoping blue dragon is a good game, but as time goes on and more info is released that hope is dwindling.

I played the demo, but didn't really care to much for the battle system. I actually liked Eternal Sonata's battle system a bit better. Still Blue Dragon didn't seem like a bad game at all. I'll still pick up a copy. I probably won't start playing right away though as I'm still completing Dragon Quest VIII, FFXIII and Rouge Galaxy. lol!! I've gotta stop starting new RPG games until I complete the first.

It all comes down to if you're a JRPG fan or not. I am, and I did enjoy the demo, so this an A-Ok game to me. Definetly buying it when it hits shelves.

I'm guessing you're american because you've don't actually seem to have ever seen or read a CVG. It is a brightly coloured childrens magazine that mostly consists of huge previews and bizarre rumours. Even the reviews themselves seem to consist mostly of screenshots. It's thin, it lacks content and any over the age of 12 wouldn't be caught dead looking at it

i apologise if you're 12 or under but for older people the Magazine holds no weight

And western RPG's are innovative? Hardly. JRPG's at least almost always have good storylines, and yes, they have innovated the genre. Strategy RPG's didn't come from western RPG's, did they? Nope, I give the Japanese credit for that.

Aside from Oblivion, I have yet to see a game that can even come close to competing with the likes of the Final Fantasy or Tales series.

exactly i mean western rpgs just like jrpgs rely on story to make the game good, jrpgs always get flack though because some people over here don't like games that aren't fast paced which is fine but you really shouldn't be reviewing a game that you know you are going to hate..

I enjoyed the demo so I'm not surprised that it got atleast a few AAA reviews. It's probably going to be AA here though.

I don't play RPGs because of the story...I usually play for the battles, gaining new spells, gear, and special moves.

What if the game was an FPS or sandbox game /w dragons?

what are you talking about, plenty of western rpg games try and innovate. Oblivion, Bulders Gate, Fable, Mass Effect, Knights of the old republic... Al of them have completly different takes on rpg combat and each of them have unique stories.

JRPGs have either med-evil or medevil meets future settings and the combat is one of two things- turn based or random battles. The only japanese rpg that has tried to change is kingdom hearts and that was a RAGING success. I wonder why? Maybe it was because they actually tried to make the combat more engaging.

LOL, most lemmings don't deserve good jrpg's like Blue Dragon. That's probably why Square Enix and Atlus don't support the 360. Different and unique games never sell well with lemmings/hermits. Look at how poorly Psychonauts sold on xbox. If it's not a damn fps they don't seem to care about it.
