After playing the demo, I'm surprised that it got that high of a review. I like RPGs, but that one seemed kind of boring to me

Mixed reviews, although the majority of reviewsprove that BD is an average game at best, I highly doubt it will be an AAA game here, since it only has an 81% on Game Rankings. If it does get AAA, I will be owned, if not then my predictions of it being a mediocre JRPG would be correct.
It could get 10's across the board and I wouldn't care. I was pretty disappointed with the demo, and it's really fallen on my list of priorities.SpigleyMcCheeseFeel the same yet I cant help but think that MS released the wrong part of the game to be used as a demo.
Much the same when I played the fist Kameo demo and thought - nah I wont buy that one - then I seen the game open up and kameo turned out to be great.
Still I dunno if I'll buy or not.
Congrats, you've just laughed at a joke that no one else gets. What has made you think that they're not a reputable site?

So, CVG is for kids, but Gamespot's for adults? Got it:roll:

I'm guessing you're american because you've don't actually seem to have ever seen or read a CVG. It is a brightly coloured childrens magazine that mostly consists of huge previews and bizarre rumours. Even the reviews themselves seem to consist mostly of screenshots. It's thin, it lacks content and any over the age of 12 wouldn't be caught dead looking at it
i apologise if you're 12 or under but for older people the Magazine holds no weight
Well I never expected xbox fans to like it, not that I ould have. JRPGs are horribly outdated compared to western ones, so hopefully "flopping" japans best (or in other words generic and the same) rpgs they'l actually TRY and innovate.ShazenabAnd western RPG's are innovative? Hardly. JRPG's at least almost always have good storylines, and yes, they have innovated the genre. Strategy RPG's didn't come from western RPG's, did they? Nope, I give the Japanese credit for that.
Aside from Oblivion, I have yet to see a game that can even come close to competing with the likes of the Final Fantasy or Tales series.

exactly i mean western rpgs just like jrpgs rely on story to make the game good, jrpgs always get flack though because some people over here don't like games that aren't fast paced which is fine but you really shouldn't be reviewing a game that you know you are going to hate..

I don't play RPGs because of the story...I usually play for the battles, gaining new spells, gear, and special moves.
never played the demo,i dislike games like blue dragon or anything with dragonsOldParr
What if the game was an FPS or sandbox game /w dragons?

what are you talking about, plenty of western rpg games try and innovate. Oblivion, Bulders Gate, Fable, Mass Effect, Knights of the old republic... Al of them have completly different takes on rpg combat and each of them have unique stories.
JRPGs have either med-evil or medevil meets future settings and the combat is one of two things- turn based or random battles. The only japanese rpg that has tried to change is kingdom hearts and that was a RAGING success. I wonder why? Maybe it was because they actually tried to make the combat more engaging.
