Blue Dragon scores a 4/5 *GREAT*

You and Xjet are the only one left defending this game. Seriously you should just accept that its just a average game, really nothing special. I really hate that this game has a Huge Huge framerate problems considering its also a very slow paced RPG. Mistwalker should seriously stop outsourcing their games with mediocre developers(see artoon). There are only 3 devs that should be considered when co-developing and those devs are namely Tri-Ace, Tri-Crescendo and lastly Level 5.

But right now I just want to play it including other games that arent shooters just to have diversity in the upcoming months. I really hate the fact that almost all of the great games in the upcoming months are shooters.Thats why even though heavenly sword, ratchet and clank and Uncharted for the PS3 flops or doesnt get a AAA score I'm still gonna play it.

Good for you. I don't really care too much for biased opinions. This game will get a AA like it's hyped and haters will be left speechless.

actually, im playing the game and its very good. Its just not quite a classic.

This game sounds pretty damn good to me. The positive reviews outweigh the negatives.

You can turn on the Japanese voices and have english subtitles.

I'm getting thisgame for sure, Chrono Trigger is the best RPG I've ever played so I simply can't pass this one up, andthe demo got pretty enjoyable too once you gave it a chance andgot the hang of of things, and I bet the full game will be alot betterZimpanX

Yeah, it did get very enjoyable. I liked the battle where all those little robots formed together and made one huge robot. It looked very Toy Story-ish.

no they have me too and many others in this thread i am still excited for this game so it can help me pass time to halo 3...i will agree its not going to be ground breaking its going to be a nice game with a good story not trash as many haters talk about it.

the demo should convey how the game will be played overall. and out of that demo, i have to say, i didn't like it at all. you guys go ahead with your 3 disc game, i'll just buy final fantasy 13- the real rpg for this gen.

It has lots of polys but it takes more than that to impress me in this day and age.

I've played the demo...it was a lot of fun. My gripees w/ the game so far are, Jiro, that silvered haired chick, and that little orange imp (ironically he's the strongest) looking dude's moves were too similiar. There really wasn't that much of a difference between those three characters besides their stats, and hp/mp bars. I've put an hour and a half into the demo, but I probably have more to discover. Soundtrack was decent...I've heard the boss battle music. It sounds funny. :lol:

I like how this review isn't really that much better than IGN's 7.9. 4/5 = 8.0 the last I heard.

The only difference here is that IGN seems to have been a) more unhappy about the intro 10-15 hrs being overly long and boring and b) less impressed w/ the depth of the combat system. The Gamespy guy is pretty flippant about the 10-15 hr induction, implying that it kind of sucks but is to be expected for this genre of game (why the first 15 hrs of a game HAS to be boring is beyond me, but...). And they give a more glowing impression of the combat system, which bodes well for it.

Overall, I'll consider getting it when its Ebay price drops to like $20, but it's not high on my must-play list right now.

It's a tough game to review in the West, since it was geared towards Japan. It's easy for us to give it a low score, since the game engine is turn based. But, Famitsu gave it a huge score (10,9,9,9). The game was done by very famous Japanese artists, musician and designers.

It comes down to this: If you like JRPGs, Blue Dragon is great. If you don't care for them, it's not very good.
