[QUOTE="Jared2720"][QUOTE="sexy_chimp"]Okay, I lied, it's not a good read, but now that I have your attention shut up and read it anyway.
How many times have you heard a cow say something like this?
"360 is the now, PS3 is the future"
"2007 was the 360's year, 2008 is the PS3's year"
The answer? TOO MANY!!!
This is just the lowest of the low when it comes to blind fanboyism.
So, these cows are admitting that right now, the 360 has better games than the PS3, right?
SO WHY DO THEY OWN A PS3 INSTEAD OF A 360!!!
Man it gets me mad. It's pathetic that you KNOW another console has better games, yet you stick to your own console. WTF?
Now I'm not just picking on cows - Okay, yeah I am. But this applies to all fanboys.
BLUUUUUUUURAAAAGH!!!!

It's called an investment. Do you know what that means? It means you sacrifice instant gratification for a better payoff in the long run. I realize, however, that most lemmings suffer from ADHD and drink too much Halo Mountain Dew, which prevents them from seeing the big picture. They want games now. Fair enough, I guess. I bought my PS3 with the intention of fully enjoying it in 2008 and beyond. Luckily, unlike you (apparently), I have enough going on in my life that I don't need to constantly sit in front my television, shooting aliens and screaming at other cretins through a NASA headset. To each his own...
Wow that could have been a good point if not for the unecessary level of insult.
Realestate is an investment. Stocks are an investment.
A video game console is a video game console.
The TC makes a good point; the PS3 was $500-600 a year ago, and people bought it and said, "Well, it will have good games, eventually." Why didn't they just wait then, and get it cheaper when the good games were out? Thats not investment... thats jumping the gun.
Plus, this argument asumes there is nothing good coming out for the 360 in 2008 and beyond. So 360 owners get a decent 2006, a fantastic 2007, and what looks to be another great year in 2008 (although maybe not 2007-level). From day 1 they had AAA and AA games to play, and never had to "justify" their purchase with silly notions that it is an investment.
So what "big picture" did I miss while I was slurping on my Mt. Dew? Wait, thats right, I was too busy playing games to care about my "investment" and I'll be doing the same in 2008.
Also: insulting someone for playing video games on a video game forum. Quaint.
Why didn't I wait? Because I knew they were discontinuing the 60GB model, which, by all accounts, is the best SKU. Does that make sense at all? Is that not a good enough reason?
