Great, another pointless FPS. :(
Seriously, it looks terrible, other than the damage which looks pretty good.

Bioshock, Halo series, Crysis 1?
They're not all, just the majority of them are pointless.
I think I've officially grown out of generic FPS without role playing elements.
Though I do love Bulletstorm.

Bulletstorm kind of has XP :P
The gameplay footage looks horrible so I can only imagine how the game actually plays. I guess i'll download it now out of boredom just to confirm it's horrible.
But that's the thing, it isn't something new. It's just a run of the mill shooter.By the way, this game is the spiritual successor to Black, so some may say it's Black 2.
And calm down with the xenophobia guys, something new won't hurt, much... Trust me, I'm an expert

And I'm actually quite sad that they are labeling this as the "spiritual successor" to Black because Black was a hell of a lot better than this.
I'm up for a generic FPS as long as it's fun to shoot stuff, Bodycount looks like it's more fun when you shoot the walls than the bad guys.I think I've officially grown out of generic FPS without role playing elements.

even the name sounds generic, it's the type of name I expected off a DOOM clone back in 1993-1994ohthemanatee
lol I was right :P
[QUOTE="Zubinen"][QUOTE="kris9031998"]No iron sights /threadDragonfireXZ95Aiming down sight has been replaced with fully controllable lean. E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy, an FPS just released on the PC, has fully controllable lean and iron sights. Why can't this do both?
Because it's a console exclusive(only on X360 and PS3), although a lot of PC-only gamers are popping up in this thread. If it makes you guys feel better, I'll post pics of my superior rig soon so your epeens can shrink :P

On the one concrete building you can basically chip away material around the windows, besides that the building is invincible. On the shacks you can shoot out the plywood walls. There's two of those per shack at the most. Some only have plywood around the doorframe. Things chip away nicely, but there's not a lot for you to be chipping away at.
The most interesting thing about it is the cover system, which is similar to that of MoH Airborne. As in analog ducking and leaning. Activated by holding down the left trigger all the way. Halfway gets you your standard ADS mode. Or I suppose it's more of a zoom.
Other than that the demo feels pretty blase. Especially after the release of Bulletstorm, which judging by the demos does a much better job at the whole arcade shooting combo thing. More creative, fun and satisfying. And prettier. And cheaper.
So I played it (and recorded it 'cause I just got an HD PVR) and yeah, it's really not good, you see me switch the sensitivity up to 100% and it still feels horrible and clunky, it's actually difficult to aim at people, that's not good.bobbetybobSee, the No-iron sights thing is just annoying.

Yeah after playing it I agree, I didn't realise you could still zoom in, I thought it was like Left 4 Dead where you just had one level of aim unless you had a sniper, and the L trigger was just for the cover thing. They could easily have put you in iron sights and still given you that movement on the left stick so you can duck and weave. The game wouldn't really need the cover thing at all, or a zoom function if they made you run faster and gave you the ability to actually aim at a rate that didn't make me feel like my analog sticks had been covered in glue. It would be much better that way.

Couple thoughts watching that video.
Pros:
Destruction looks nice. Some enemies reacted nicely when being shot.
Cons:
Why the hell is the crosshair so low on the screen? Whenever you're shooting at someone it gives the sense you're staring at the sky. This is evident more with the shotgun than the rifle.
Aside from the few that reacted to being shot a lot of them just took fire, and their retaliation tactic was lazily listing to the left while casually shooting back at you.
The art style is just blah. Teal wood? What is this?
Is there one reload animation? Not a huge problem but this sort of bothers me.
Lack of iron sights also bothers me. Normally I wouldn't care but why both zooming in like that? Why not just use the crosshairs? I hate that you don't use the crosshairs for the shotguns in Bad Company 2 but you're still focusing with the weapon.
Finally, that HUD is over saturated saturated. Immersion isn't important in a game like this but when it said to reload and the "X" button was highlighted it was just obnoxious.
I aint bothering bout checking it out tbh.
The Driver SF demo however has been a shocker, especially the MP its straifgt up and and down fun :P
Controls are as follows: RT = shoot, LT = analog lean, halfway LT = zoom, rb = primary explosives, lb = secondary explosives, left analog = sprint, right analog = crouch, a = jump, x = reload, b = melee, y = switch weapon. The graphics, art direction, and sound are good by console standards. I didn't have an issue with holding LT half way to zoom, although I'm sure some people would much prefer full LT = zoom and halfway LT = analog lean.
It hasn't been that for a very long time. The lead designer left the project more than a year ago. Some may say it's Black 2, but they'd be wrong. I understand that Stuart Black was the design lead for Black but without Criterion tech behind it there's no way in hell.By the way, this game is the spiritual successor to Black, so some may say it's Black 2.

That looked great. Not the game, the video. The game looks like ass.
