I bought the Xbone controller wireless usb adapter for PC but it only works for Windows 10. Wow I am absolutely disgusted with their general heinousness(oh wow that's a word?). My desktop gaming pc is running windows 7 and now I can't use this thing. Oh will someone pls save the day and make a win7 compatible driver for this thing?

They announced this back in May, and it says so very clearly on the packaging. This is all on you.

Yup. Its been long enough since Windows 7 that it isn't their fault he doesn't read up on a purchase.
Windows 10 had a major update this week that fixed a lot of issues.
For me it fixed the screen tear issues I was having with pretty much every game, emulator and even when simply using the browser caused by the crappy Xbox Apps. Now it's fixed and even Dark Souls runs smoother and the OS is way faster than Windows 7 too. So just upgrade that shit dude, it's free.

Hahaha, just update to windows 10, it's free and way way better, or are you one of those "win7 4 lyf" people?
i can't i don't want to lose my settings and installed stuff. i am not about that fresh windows life.
you're not gonna lose anything unless you do a clean install.
On a side note, learn how to use partitions! That feature exists for a reason but people don't know what to even do with it. I always install games and stuff on a secondary partition because I like doing clean installs once in a while and I can do it really fast and without losing anything.
The trick is to take an HDD and make one small partition for the OS and page files and then another really big for all your installations and other content. Windows 10 makes it even easier to so by letting you declare the default partition locations.

It literally says windows 10 on the front of the package, and on the side it says "For Windows 10"
I used to do this until too many games started using the registry. Then you have to re-install the game to get it to register unless you want to poke around in regedit for a few days.
cept i'm smarter than you because I own a gaming pc. What do you own?
And you had to ask how the steam link was working in the other thread
lulz
agh don't even get me started with that. I'm never buying anything from Gamestop again. They told me they can't give me a full refund so they just gave me a gift card. FUDGE THAT! I wish I got it from Amazon, their return policy is amazing.
*facepalm* do you even see the package before buying it?
So it says "Windows 10", so what? I don't know what the packaging looks like but if that's all that there is, then how is he supposed to know that the controller doesn't work on W7? It doesn't say "Windows 10 Only", it just says "Windows 10".
Plus there's no reason for the controller to not work on W7, Vista or XP. It's just MS' way of trying to get people to upgrade to their shitty new OS.
if the package says "windows 10" it's obvious that it's for win 10 devices..
on the side of the package it says "for windows 10".. you can't get more captain obvious than that.
I don't know for what bs reason the controller isn't compatible with win 7 but win 10 is not shitty and it's free.

You still bought the controller although it says only for Windows 10 on the package ?
1. When you buy something you read what it says in the box
2. Upgrade to windows 10 . Its free and its better and more responsive than windows 7 ( as long as you do a fresh install after upgrading ) and nearly bug

So what you are saying @charizard1605 is that this would dry off a dog in a microwave despite the microwave having a label on it saying, "No drying off dogs in the microwave". Also for those wondering that actually happened, lady went to dry off dog in microwave and he exploded. There was a whole court case and she won because there was no label saying you can't dry a dog in a microwave.

If you think this is tin-foil hat stuff, well then I guess ignorance is bliss.
And yea, the main topic of this thread is like buying Mac software and bitching it doesn't run on your PC.
Also TCs complaints about switching to windows 10 mention nothing of what I just posted. Laf.
