In your opinion. MickeyTheNinja

I never claimed it was anything else. I'm not going to write in my opinion after everything, mostly because I usually have obsessive people do it for me.

[QUOTE="Slashless"]

Unfortunately, like its predecessor, none of it will be fun if you play solo.

Tikeio

Fixed.

It's all about dat co-op. :)

The "it's better with friends" thing doesn't work with me. Most games are better with friends. Crack a couple of beers open invite a couple of friends and play Resistance 3 and watch as a sh*tty game turns into something passable.

How much of that is mind numbing grinding where your traveling between generic environments while completing generic quest?

I loved the hell out of the first game. They got the most important thing right, the shooting and the loot. It had a pretty decent sense of humor as well.. Yeah, playing solo was boring as hell but even with randoms I had a good time playing the game. It's no masterpiece, but I enjoyed playing it. Hopefully, they can release this one without gamebreaking bugs.

that would be nice.

[QUOTE="parkurtommo"][QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]

Is this game coming out this year? If so good bye Halo, COD, and FC3. I'm going with BL2!

First one was so fun with friends online, it also had good split-screen as well. Too bad the game can be a little buggy sometimes though.

FireSpirit117

Buggy? Seems pretty stable at least on PC.

He must've played the PS3 version. :P

Ya :P

It's not a common thing, but I played with a friend who was a much higher level than I was and we went to Trash Coast and started a quest there, well when I go back into my game that quest is still active. And there are a couple of quests that just don't work right period. The game also has lot's of cheaters with all of these super weapon mods of death that deal an insane amount of damage.

But it was still a great game with friends. I still think Far Cry 3 has most potential as far as SP goes.

Nice! I'm the guy who doesn't play multiplayer very often, this is for me. :)Codepix

Nah don't buy it then. It's a co-op game, so trying to play it by yourself isn't going to be very fun.

I loved the first game and completed every quest. I can't wait for this and I hope it does have a 58 hour campaign.

That is very impressive. Let's hope it's fun throughout that whole time.

I hope so.

I'd argue the opposite. I put in a good two-three hundred solo hours in the first one and the maybe two hours that I played co-op were boring and infuriating.

Hopefully it's fun for more than 8 of those, unlike Borderlands. . .

Well considering it's half an RPG this isn't much of a surprise.

Sounds good. Wasn't the first Borderlands somewhere around there too? It felt long. But yeah, Zelda length on an FPS sounds awesome.

Nope, the main campaign in Borderlands 1 was around 15-20 hours at best. 30-40 with side quests. Borderlands 2 will supposedly have a 58 hour campaign and thats not counting sidequests apparently.

Guessing it will be like the first one of having pointless quest that doesn't pertain to the main story of killing a target and retrieving an item over and over.

Yeah, and Fallout 3 had a 200 hour campaign aswell, of which 180 consist of walking.

Not really much "ownage" going on here. Especially if it's the same quality of Borderlands 1.

I bet it's going to feel like a million hours especially based on a Boderlands 1.

I thought B1 was about that long. I loved this game with some friends. Solo is, admittedly, not that great. IDK how someone can do that.

[QUOTE="dakan45"]id say borderlands is worse, since it has alot less than fallout 3, and it repeats all over again and again.waltefmoney

No I love Fallout 3. I was talking about Boredarlands. I honestly can't remember a more boring video game.

Yes, i said that borderlands is worse because it has less variety and more repettion.

Techically borderlands is not a pure FPS is more like an MMO with guns.

From what I can tell from the article, the source is a Gearbox marketing guy. And the golden rule for a developer or publisher statement on a game's length is to cut it in half. Crysis 2 was supposed to take 15-20 hours - I beat it in 9. BioShock 1 was said to be 20 hours - I beat it in 10. Far Cry 2 was said to have 'potentially 50 hours of gameplay', with players allegedly needing up to 100 to see all of the content - I beat the game in about 17 hours with not all, but most of the additional tasks completed.

So call me Mr. Cynical, but I'm willing to bet that you can probably beat this game in 20-25 hours, which would still be decent if they don't copy+paste content.
