Good call. You forgot MySims. The Sims and Sims 2 sold millions, also.

Of course, any "hardcore" gamer will decry this and say, "sales don't matter!"

Oh really? If Halo 1 was a huge flop, there would never have been Halo 2, (and probably not even an XBOX360, since Halo sold the XBOX for the first year). Use logic.

MySims, Nintendogs Wii, and Animal Crossing Wii are going to sell amazingly well. With WiiConnect24 alone being utilized for these games, the experience will be unmatched. I don't care how many Core Processors the PS3 has. It doesn't have a standby mode that also keeps it connected to the web.

I think it's amazing how they manage to sell 12M of that crap. I mean, this "virtual pet" fad should have ended with the tamagochi fever. Put the resources into making real games for god's sake. lordxymor
It sold 12M but you think they should do something else? I'm not really advocating "virtual pets" but no company would kill a golden goose.

I think it's amazing, too! I mean, people don't REALLY like those games. They must be brainwashed. I mean, what's with all those sidescrollers, too? I mean, shouldn't this "Mario" fad have died with Super Mario 3 on the NES? Make some real games!

I think Brain Age has run its course, but Nintendogs with some improvements could sell millions more.

Just because a game feels like an epic war movie doesn't mean it's the epitome of gaming. More people than not prefer fun, cartoony, mindless games. Games with points, and stars, and colors. Not so much chainsaws and bloodbaths. You can be in denial all you want, but why else would the Wii be selling so well right now?

[QUOTE="MikeE21286"]Yeah, they sell millions to 8 yr old boys and girls (nin dogs)......Would you honestly pay $50-$60 for anyoe of these games on a console.  To put them at say a Halo caliber like you said is diesprespectful to Halo.Bread_or_Decide

Fanboy.

What makes Halo a "Halo caliber" game? Is it because it's a sweet shooter? None of the above mentioned games are shooters, so what you're saying is, "My genre of games is the best!", which is an opinion.

Nintendogs and BB sold to lots of adults, actually. It shows how much you track the market...

OH jeez....Fanboy....... please.  I own a Wii, DS, PSP, 360, PS3, Wii, etc. Just because I don't like a game on a system doesn't make some1 a fanboy........Sorry that the thought of picking up simulated dog crap and shampooing a dog doesn't excite me.

You know what are some great DS games? Sonic Rush, New Super Mario Bros, and Hotel Dusk.  Love those games.

While the ds has games that appeal to casuals..it also has games that appeal to core gamers like those you just mentioned along with Mario Kart DS, Castlevania dawn of souls/ portrait of ruin, advanced wars ds, kirby's canvas curse. Who says the wii won't have these kinds of games. Why can't the casuals and core gamers live together on one system peacefully

Of cource they wouldn't kill a golden goose. But Nin dogs doesn't deserve to be called a game in my option just like that thing that Ashlee Simpson does shouldn't be called music. But hey, there's people who like it. Brain-damaged people in my opinion. :)

Yeah, it's your opinion.

But the vast majority of people who see people pay $400-600 for a toy, play games all day long, and waste money on even MORE games think that those types of people are "Brain-damaged".

Your opinion is in the minority, just like your opinion on Ashlee Simpson is in the minority. Millions and millions of people buy her CDs. (I happen to agree with you on this point, however).

As always, an opinion will be just that, an opinion. And an opinion will never sway the market.
