Why must we do this every few months?, Why must be proclaim something as the best ever. I tried to like Braid after all the glowing Eurogamer and CVG reviews, but after playing teh demo I'm left wondering what they're smoking. It's a three hour game, with nice music, nice graphics, gameplay is ok but I can see myself getting bored of this game in a day or two.

Please don't compare a posh (indy) Amiga style game to Mario. It's not in the same league. Please stop with all the hype for average games, I'm kinda sick of it.

I loved the mario game on the DS, but this game is amazing. The puzzles and the level design is so creative. I am just playing the trial demo and I can't get enough of it.

It is so charming. However this is clearly a mario clone with amazing twists to it. If your a fan of 2 D platformers and a fan of mario games I truly urge you to check this out on XBLA.

Conduit was meant to be a seprate example, another game that gets most, or all, of its hype from graphics. On the wario side, there isn't much gameplay wise that coulden't be done on DS other then very simple wag controls.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice that, for as far as Ninty fans go out of their way to talk down graphics, the second a game comes to the Wii that may actually not look half bad, they go CRAZY over it based on that alone. Remember all the hype Red steel got based on a few early pre-rendered bullshots? It looked nohting like it, but when the Nintendo fans thought it would, they went insane and hyped it to the moon. (it ended up sucking)

Gotcha! Yeah, Conduit I'm more interested in the final result just to see if it lives up to the hype. Doubt it. But if the gameplay sucks and graphics are steller, i'm not touching it.

With 2D platformers, IMO, there should be simples controls. I think Nintendo sometimes does a good job of using wag controls just enough. SMG, SPM, and strikers for example. They don't feel tacked on (at least to me) and is actuall quite convenient.

dont forget that cows and lemmings dont talk about sales.... but when the ps3 outsells the 360 or vice versa there sure are alot of threads about it.

also, you must have just started gaming this gen or something cause you obviously forgot about last gen:

cows last gen: who cares about graphics, look at our sales

sheeps this gen: who cares about graphics, look at our sales

I will admit that Braid is pretty awesome.

Controlling time is pretty cool.

But quite honestly, it has nothing on the simplicity and charm of Mario.

Actually, that is where Braid excels. Its quite, quite apparent that you haven't touched this game. This game even has a story that you WANT to know instead of the same rehashed garbage Nintendo has been feeding fanboys since the 80's.

I understand that. We all like a challenge, but that doesn't make a game better.Much like echochrome. It's a great game, which makes your head hurt, but there are better puzzle games out there.

Not every single game needs to rely on difficulty in order to be enjoyable
