Not impressed remotly, seems like graphics from PS2, I'm not against racing games, but it doesnt seem to be getting any more realistic at all, the F1 car looks like aplastic shiny toy.Meu2k7
I hope this turns into a GTHD vs Forza thread. I just love watching people post pics of GTHD and then Forza fans desperately trying to say their game looks better.
But otherwise cool, I may get Forza 2, or I may buy a ps3 and get GT5, i need more info on GT5 first, i have a feelings it's going to be mind blowing.Â

I'm sorry I thought the trend around here was to base things on screenshots, anywho, the cars dont look that much better, I was giving my opinion on these screenshots and the screenshots of another racer posted here earlier...
The graphics are not impressive to me simple as, PS2 was pushing it, but ... not far off or xbox1 whateverÂ

agreed, PGR2 looks better then this (PGR2 looked great), but this isnt wat i expected for next-gen seeing as the guys making GT for the PS3 can already pull those visuals on HD
o...mg...I CAN SEE HOW BADLY I F***ed up my car cuz i cant drive. Damage modeling is uselss, i would rather have better grahpics. Plus, i dont crash =p

Explain to me why damage modeling is important in sim racing games.

Because in real racing, people crash and their cars are damaged. Its not completely a sim if you dont put in damage physics.Â

If you bang into a wall you are going to restart the race.
Why are a lot of the new Forza 2 screens so blurry? Are they trying to hide something?OXIIIIXO
It's a fancy camera effect that they're trying to capture. With super expensive cameras, you can adjust the lense and stuff so that the object of focus is really sharp and the rest of its surroundings appear really blurry. It's either that or they're trying to convey some sort of motion blur. Â
I lol'd at those pictures. They're not bad compared to last gen games, but they do look pretty awful compared to the likes of the next gen Gran Turismo pictures and clips we've seen. Alls I have to say is thank goodness it has some decent depth and driving mechanics to fall back on! :lol:PikaPichu

I'm one of the few forumites here who actually drives and I think the physics and stuff in the GT games felt pretty accurate. Â
Sony fanboys tell me this doesn't look good and remember Forza 2 has damage modeling and Online. ;)

PS3_3DO
Yes it looks good and has damage modeling and online, But It doesn't look bettter than GT HD

Yeah I know that, but t me the pics still seem kind of blurry. Also, look at pic numer 2, the car is not moving and yet  the decals are blurry.

Tell your dad to take you on a car ride.
At about 150 mph look out the window, tell me if things are blurry, then come back.

You sir are Right. There was a Youtube Video with two Porsches racing on the ring (Nurburgring) and the car in real life was only about 1 second off what the GT4 car did
There was also another on with an RX8 and even cornering MPH was dead accurate.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother reading these forums...this whole damage control and blatant fanboyism makes me tired...so tired Â

no damage makes GT suck eggs. sorry, but if I can ride a rail for 80% of the race the 'realism' tends to shatter in to tiny tiny pieces.
forza uses actual engine and part physics supplied by the manufacturers, as does GT as far as I know, so there shouldn't be any problem with the games racing physics.
[QUOTE="Koalakommander"]I always thought the GT series was known for its realisitc physics. guess not...
Zenkuso
Nah it just never had any competition.Â
agreed.
Â
Its kinda funny, because when I learned about physics and momentum I thought I learned that a half ton car travelling at over 100mph in to a wall would cause it to - you know -- crash.
I guess I was wrong! Time to smash my civic in to a wall at full speed like I've always wanted to! I don't need a helmet do I?
