Braveheart: PS4=English, XBX=Scottish, FREEDOM!!!!=D

This movie is the perfect example of what this generation console war between PS4 vs XB1 is like. The English far out numbered the Scotts, but the Scotts simply out smarted the English in key battles. Of course it was all thanks to William Wallace, or in our case Phil Spencer. XB will never fully conquer PS the same as the movie, but in every battle leading up to the show down, XB is bringing da pain.

Remember, the first fight? "No army has ever won... againts calvery..." (we'll act like those represent PS exclusives). The snobbism of the English thought they'd just run the Scotts over like grass. What does the Scotts do? Make long polls, which in my story are the fanstastic list of backwards compatibility games with free enhancements.

When the Scotts invaded lower England is akin to Microsofts ability to deliver the XBX, a console that is 40% stronger than the PS4 Pro. A large portion of third party, multiplat games are better than any exclusives the PS4 touts and now they perform better on XBX. We are in the middle of this gen, as that was in the movie when this decisive victory took place. Thus, all that talk prior to that point that Cows use to brag about the PS4s power and how 3rd party games where better on PS4 came to an end with its cut off head in a box. :]

Then we come to the point of facing off with the King of England. The point where we lose the numbers game. Sure, XB losses that battle since they're out numbered 2 to 1 on the field of battle or sales. Afterwords, Wallace turns around and starts eliminating every key figure it can or factor he can to weaken the cause of that outcome. The results in the story is that XB becomes more efficient with Gamepass. For a mere $10 bucks a month you'll get access to over $150 games plus all MS exclusives day one. The retail giants didn't appreciate their heads getting cut off but its better for the Scotland (the Xbots).

We all know how the story ends though. The PS4 King lays dieing in bed, thinking he's finally killed Microsoft. Then gets a whisper in his ear that there's been 144 million copies of Minecraft sold, some of which was on PS and that seed was not of his line but that of MICROSOFT. Yes, it's true. Not only does Microsoft have the best premium console in the market, but its also impregnated you beloved princess with its on seed and your pure royal line has ended. Upon hearing this the King dies, and well ya, your new king is his dear weak and delectate son.

On that final day, when you think we'll all swear loyalty to the new king, XBX rebels and bloodies the field with a army of console exclusives like PUBG, State of Decay 2 and Crack down as well as being on gamepass. On that day, the ScottxBots won their freedom, and they lived happly ever after.

William Wallace technically only won a single battle, and like a true a Scotman, he cheated.

When the English were crossing Stirling Bridge, when about half had crossed he ordered his men to cut down and collapse the bridge effectively splitting the army in half. Then charged down, won.

At Falkirk he used a Shiltron, a giant form of spears in the shape of a hedgehog to make it impenetrable. "I have brought you to the ring, now dance for me", were his words. Unfortunately Edward was no idiot and had a new powerful weapon, the Longbow, which decimated them.

In reality Wallace was a blip in a much longer war popularized because he was only major player at a time who seemed to genuinely be fighting for his country and king (John Balliol) than his self-gain. And had managed to amass a following even though he was of lower status, than people owing debt to an overlord. At his trail, knowing he was basically about to be tortured and mutalated he refused to acknowledge Edward in the kangaroo court.

More of a romanticized idea than a good tactician. And by the standards of the time, probably would have done some pretty horrible shit, as that was the norm of war.

Also consoles.

The unfortunate side of your analogy though is that Wallace was defeated, captured, then hung drawn and quartered by the English. You'd have been far better going with Robert the Bruce (he was far from the traitor the Gibson movie made him out to be), despite being beaten by the English on several occasions he kept trying and eventually won at the battle of Bannockburn in 1314, securing Scottish independence until the act of union was created by James VI (James I of England).

@GarGx1: Eh, thats tit for tat. The final battle I closed with was in fact in reference to the battle lead by Robert the Bruce. The problem with using analogys is they are never perfect and hence they are usually attacked by your opponents in finding weaknesses with the analogy rather than the themes its being used for to highlight. Case in point, the purpose of the analogy was to draw similarities between the war of the XB vs PS, if you were to boil it down to its essences was that although PS4 may boast significant numbers in sale, the response of the under dog MS has been very decieve and effective.

However, to my shame I also delight in seeing how my oppents argue the merit of the analoy instead of the points it raises or highlights. Besides, i'd hope most of us enjoy system wars for its entertaining value, rather than thinking we're actually fighting a real war here.

All in all, the entirity of the movie sums up Cows perfectly. They have the numbers and are powerful, yet when confronted by the underdog XB, their weaknesses on the battlefield are exposed as well as the fact they are in general a self inflated, self entitled and complacence group of people who are being led by a tea cup king who likes dressing up in the latest fashion rather than being an effective militarized king. The defeats they suffer in battle are do to complacence and lack of strategic thinking. Thus, with less resources, Microsoft has been doing more with much less by cutting down the pretenders and establishing victory after victory with impressive precision.

@Trinitarian: Just saying it may have been better to use the person who was actually instrumental in Scotland's final victory over the English, rather than his predecessor who won a couple of battles but ultimately lost (unless of course you've resigned yourself to PS4 winning the generation). On an historical note though Robert the Bruce wasn't at the battle of Falkirk (the last battle in the movie), let alone on the side of the English.

Thus, i suppose thats technically not the last battle in the movie, but it was the final battle i was referring to in my analogy. I assumed Robert the Bruce won that battle as well as its subsequent ones after that since they eventually fought for and won their independence.

Nevertheless, Robert the Bruce would make a good analogy but it wouldn't have the same effect. PS4 fans acts all high and mighty but they are being destroyed by what they view as savages. Besides, i'm not utilizing the entire historical facts of this event, rather just the Hollywood portrayal. Most those 300 games can be played on pretty much any other platform. Some of the best games of this generation cant be played on your precious xbox. Cry moar

@ni6htmare01: Funny you should ask: i bought a PS4 thinking believing you cows that the performance and exclusives would make it worth owning both systems. However, the exclusives were boring to me and trying to play multiplates on that janky controller was not enjoyable. Plus, the multiplayer, dash bored interface and social aspects of online player games where almost vomit inducing compared to the quality I expect from MS.

Admittingly, I just made a tatical retreat from the system, acknowledging at the time the power of the PS4 had an edge. Then MS turns around and drops a H-bomb on that edge by providing an even more advantage in power by even higher margins. Thus, here we are again were power doesn't matter to cows...LMAO!

Nothing. Simply because PS has nothing else better to offer than that. On the other hand MS kills it from there on out: 1) Gamepass, the greatest gaming rental service of all time 2) Elite controller, best controller ever made 3) XBX, most powerful console ever created 4) Backwards compatibility, playing and owning enhanced versions of games from all xbox eras (e.g., morrowind & RDR 4K) 5)Online, Best network of all time.

Creative license is a real thing and unfortunately people believe what the watch. Xbox created their bed this gen. Is it a terrible bed? Hell no. I like my games on one box, not paying for upgrades to old games *blow2 me for TLOUr and SotCr*, whereas I get RDR 4k for no additional cost unless I CHOOSE to get a better piece of hardware like I did with my Pro.

But the market is speaking and Xbox needs to wise up. They have a more stable network, better longevity with MP games but their SP games have been meh. They did take risks unlike people say, but they didn't pan out. Well shit or get off the pot. Take more, with better teams or accept not being that realm. 2 cents shared.
