If this game didn't get a 10, no game will. This is the best reviewed game on gamespot.

well, why is it impossible?... there will be more great games i hope ... you were allready wrong...
Funny how the wiis best game doesn't use motion controls... What ever happend to innovation.htekemeraldIt does use motion controls, if you want them. You can use one of four different controllers, two of which use motion controls. There's your innovation.

Do you mean in terms of gamespot viewing it as the best game, or the reviewer doing a good job of reviewing it?

It goes out the window when you rehash the same game, AGAIN.
I think the Wii scores show more of the nintendo-fan in the reviewers than the games really being this good. I was there when NES came out. I was there playing SMB. I was there for SNES, N64, and gamecube. I know how fun it is to revisit favorite games. To see your old favorites made a new. But to say this game is equal or better than most is rediculous.
At the least, sheep need to realize that what may be a 9.5 on the Wii would not be so on 360 or PS3. There are obviously some things overlooked to let it get this score or the games are scored differently upfront. Either way, the score isn't as good as you claim it to be.
This game comes out on 360 or PS3 with the same graphics, the same rehashed gameplay, the wanna-be online, it gets a 7, maybe an 8.
You're right, a 9.5 on the Wii wouldn't be a 9.5 on the 360/PS3.
When SMG got GOTY, it had the same score as 9.5, but clearly GS is saying SMG > Halo 3. So shouldn't SMG have a higher score?
Going by that logic, SMG and SSBB would've been a 10 on the 360/PS3. :3

This game is really not a simple "rehash", this a what a real sequel is like. The score is 9.5, mening it's one of the best games this gen, there's no "lower standards", that's just damage control.[QUOTE="StringGuard"][QUOTE="htekemerald"]Funny how the wiis best game doesn't use motion controls... Calling SSBB a rehash is just hilarious and wrong. First of all, the game offers four different controller options and customizable control schemes. It features more characters, songs and stages than the previous games. It has an all new singleplayer mode, a stage builder, online and new items.
I actually cant think of a single fighting game that offered more change in a sequel than Brawl.
i must admit brawl is fantastic but it works best with the GC conroller!! WTF? this game would be one of the reasons i would consider buying a wii but all the great Wii games (SMG, zelda, NMH) could have, nay should jhave, been done on the GC. it denegrates the very console it is based on. my personal opinion is still that motion controll is a gimicky waste of time and thats why i don't own a wii.thegoldenpoo
Zelda plays better on the Wii and SMGs spin attack works better and more intuitive than a button or a shake of the analog stick. Its actually games like SMG that really show how the Wii can improve gaming. Instead of using some over the top control scheme in which you have to move your arm up everytime you want to jump they just used a simple movement for your primary attack. Which works great.
Oh and I havent played Brawl with the Wii-mote nunchuk combo yet, but I heard it works very well when you use the shake smash.
Didn't they say that, with the new rating system, they are never going to give a game a ten? The said no game is perfect, so they refuse to give 10s.
So basiclly, Brawl got a perfect score on gamespot.
Narroo
a 10 now is "prime". it is entirely possible.

Don't need to innovate what's near perfetion already. Smash bros will always be our little safe haven, never getting over sequalized but always beeing there for the next big console.
Great for a wii game, if this were released on a real next-gen console the merits would have been a lot fewer.Adrian_Cloud
Ahahahaha, you guys are hillarious to listen to.
Great for a wii game, if this were released on a real next-gen console the merits would have been a lot fewer.Adrian_CloudAnd if GoW: CoO was released on the PS3, it would have gotten a terrible score, what's your point? If Brawl was on the Xobx 360,l the graphics would be a lot better, they would hardly make it for a lesser system's needs. That analogy is just awful.

Damage control=failed.
Read the review, it says that you can use the motion controls and that they work well, they're just not mandatory. In fact, that's a great thing that they offer options. It makes it so that now Wii gamers who have already gotten used to only the Wii controls can still play Brawl with traditional gamers who own 360 and PS3's and still have a good time with them.

This would have received less on the 360/PS3. Not by much but its worth noting.flowdee79If it was on the Xbox 360/PS3 it would have had the better graphics/online, and thus would have still gotten 9.5.
Im going to do this one more time. Cows and lems should note. I have a 360 but THIS game is why I bought a wii.
Now Melee is MLGs fighter of choice. People really don't realize how good a game smash bros really is. It can be casual, but if you really dig deep....its a very intricate and robust hardcore fighter. Why else does MLG love it so much?
