Oversaturation of the market was one of the key factors to the industry crash back in the 80's.Orbis, Durango, WiiU, PC, Steam Box (which i guess is PC?), and now apple tv......ugh, market over saturation confirmed...the big three and PC were enough guys thanks, don't need your $1500 console/tv apple

exactly...and with how this generation has looked with most games going multiplatform and exclusives becoming less and less of a thing...do we really need five consoles and PC that can all play the same game?
Ultimate Gaming Console.....
The only true games on iPod right now that I see are Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City.
If Apple TV starts getting games like Darksiders 2, Borderlands 2, Arkham City, etc.... then Good News for Mac Users cause that means you might be getting games!
Personally, I don't see it absolutely dominating the console gaming industry like everyone is so convinced it will. Hell,. smartphones and tablets couldn't kill off the traditional gaming handhelds completely, I highly fail to see what precedent people use when they say the Apple TV will kill off consoles. charizard1605Well, you don't have to kill off a sector completely to dominate it, and we still don't know exactly what the end result of the mobile platforms versus handhelds will be. It's been less than 4 1/2 years since the AppStore launched, so it's still a young and emerging platform. And historically when new sectors replace old, they don't go across the board, instead eating away the minor products initially (read: Vita) before majorly impacting the old dominant product's sales. That strongly resembles what we've seen so far. I see a market for traditional consoles continuing for the foreseeable future, but a $149 console with the software pricing of the App Store would definitely nab a large share of the non-core market. The value of the current console model would become hard to defend for tens of millions of casual gamers, and their loss changes the entire economic model of the existing platform manufacturers. ... Maybe Sony is teh Dooooomed after all.
[QUOTE="Timstuff"]the STEAM console is using dualshock3 ?Gaben laughs, because Steam Box is on its way.

just a Cow's dream.
Everyone knows the 360 controller is the default for games now.
Don't know about everyone else but I can't wait for a gaming device with a massive lack of support, huge content restrictions, hideous price-tag and customer support all wrapped up in a shiny white TV box-thing from Apple.
Kinda reminds me of:

Iphone games are decent as touch experiences. But put them on big tv and without good controls and lmao.
amaneuvering
Why would you imagine the controls wouldn't be exactly the same as they currently are on any touch devices?
Do you actually believe Apple would finally put touch Apps on their Apple TV and then not allow you to play them via the same touch inputs?
That's just silly.
No, actually I expect exactly that, which will meak the controls will be crap, because all touch-only controls are crap compared to regular ones. It's forgivable on the go (same with low quality of the games themselves), but on bit TV? lol...And lose all the compatibility with existing iOS library? Doesn't make much sense.Out-of-the-box, Intel Haswell GT3 would have Xbox 360 games @ 1080p.
