thats sick and wrong

it can make 3 disks with compression

sound takes up the most space uncompressed, but luckily it can be compressed immensly.

LOL sucks to be stuck with dated hardware doesn't it.

First thing you guys might say is that it's too big, but face it, all that matters is playing the game and having fun. Kojima can reduce the high definition audio quality and release the game in different acts(Acts 1-3 as one download, Acts 4-5 in another, and multiplayer as another one).

I'm not paying $500 for a gaming system just so I can play it on one disc, I think this could really work, and deleting and redownloading an act is just going to be a minor nuissance because after single player is done, you won't be going back to play it as much as multiplayer.

RyuHayabusaX

sry mate, but the game was already compressed in some parts to just fit the blu ray disc alone, imagine that. There are 5 acts and say 50GB storage space, thats 10 GB each not to mention the porting the code and there are some aspects of the game that cant be done on the 360. However, paying $400 for a superior game system and boy is it superior to enjoy a game that exceeds every 360 game ever made is worth it. Its just my point of view, should u choose to bash it or respect it is your choice.

So what are these aspects that can't be done on the 360? LOL, besides the superior system? just your opinion, but i have both and the 360 is hardly inferior. 1 game does not make a system, and MGS4 is far from perfect. very good game, but not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

When u start of Act 4, the game starts with the first level from Metal Gear Solid 1, that would have to be done. Secondly, as you finish up your boss fight and go inside one of the bunkers Otacon stops u to talk about how u need to change from Disc 1 to 2, then he realizes that MGS4 is on blu ray so he praises blu ray, next he is Mantis who appears and tries to control ur ps3 and controller but flashes pass by of the PS1 and DualShock 1 then PS3 and dualshock 3, next up Otacon uses a Apple laptop in alot of scenes, Snake uses an Apple Ipod throughout the whole game. All these changes must be made. Furthermore, i never said MGS4 is perfect, i said it exeeds every 360 game. Gaming experience inferior superior is opinions, agreed.

I don't know about you but NO game is perfect but IMO MGS4 is near perfect! The replayability alone OWNS! I'm on my 10th playthrough and it doesn't and will never get old because of the so much things you can do in the game. Unlockables + MANY MANY different kind of weapons and a REVAMPED gameplay with lots of add-ons make this game extremely AWESOME! Not to mention the graphics, gameplay, cutscenes, music, sound, character/weapon models...and the damn STORY!

Gotta ask yourself though what spending hours unlocking all those items is going to do for you in real life. Most people just want to play the game, and I'm not willing to pay $500 so I can have fun unlocking virtual items without the burden of a few discs.

wow...you must have a better life than he does. stop being whiny, and just live on with your life, just like you said, you don't care enough about video games to buy another system, so there it's simple as that.

lemmings are greedy lil buggers eh? ReaperV7

I know, right?

TC, drop it.
Just like if a PS3 owner wants to play gears, or whatever; They have to buy a 360.
If you want MGS4, buy a PS3. Or, borrow your friends. Whatever.

This idea is horrible.

The apple is not Sony properties, No changes need to be made to this. The other parts you refer to are small parts just to make fun of the PS vs. PS3 advancements. True they wouldn't make sense in the 360 universe, but could easily be changed to make fun of the Sony name vs. the 360. All in jest of course. I own both systems and love both systems. Sorry about the perfect thing, missunderstood you. It does exceed any 360 game out there, except for, IMO, for Gears, which comes damn close but MGS4 is still better. I'd have a hard time choosing between the two. But as of right now i would have to go with MGS4 since i still have'nt finished the game. Again sorry for the misunderstanding. My fault.

Like I said, you guys don't get the idea that all that matters is playing the game and HAVING FUN, not being hardcore and having it on one disc. Personally I'm about to borrow a PS3 and MGS 4 from a friend, so that saves me from paying Sony and Konami almost $600. RyuHayabusaX

Despite the fact, you are missing other great games, you obviuosly don't know math.

The PS3 MGS4 BUNDLE is $500.

A PS3 40gig and MGS4 is $460.

Your random math is almost as terrible as this IDEA.

Anyways, Microsoft has a mandate that NO games game be this large anyways.

No they don't. Where did you get this information from? But all told anyways, MGS4 has about as much a chance of coming to the 360 as I do with winning the lottery. But, that doesn't mean it can't be done. Just won't be done. Unless MS offers a bucket full of money to kojima. Well, more then a bucket. maybe a dump truck full.

Remove the beautiful graphics that UE3 is offering in Gears2 and let's see how well it does. You see, if MGS4 was done on MGS3's engine(PS2 graphics) people would still buy it because MGS isn't just about pretty stunning graphics. It got more to it then visuals. I hope you get what I'm saying. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, they do. It was huge news when M$ allowed SOTN to be on XBL, because it broke that mandate. Furthermore, the new SF XBLA is going to break that mandate. A game as large as MGS4, isn't allowed. In fact, a game like the new Ratchet, wouldn't be allowed if it was a multiplat (It's not, because it's made by Sony and Insomniac but still.)

My mistake, i was thinking you were talking in disc terms. Not XBLA. XBLA does have a limit in game size, so they wouldn't allow the game to be offered in this way. You are right. Sorry for the confusion. But maybe being offered as a downloadable game as they do with their xbox games online they could. From what I understand that is a little larger on what they offer. But, MGS4 is still way too large even with compressed audio, and condensed cut-scenes. Would still be in the 30 gig range. (Just a guess on the size.)

Why would you make it downloadable when most people have 20GB harddrives.. if they were going to bring it over (which they arn't) they would just stick it on 3 discs.. big deal.

Yes MGS4 is about more then just good graphics. I say good because i don't see anything stunning about them. Yes, I have the game. The cut-scenes can be condensed because there is a little redundancy in the story telling. But, not much. The audio though can be condensed quite a bit, since there is very little difference between uncompressed audio and compressed audio, even if you have a full surround sound with 7.1 surround. Most people, unless you have perfect pitch would not be able to tell the difference. I really think 3-4 DVD-9's would work, But, alas, it will not happen. Lems, by the way aren't desperate to get this on the 360. They just think that it can be done. I would like to see it stay on the PS3 exclusively, But would like kojima, or someone finally admit that it can be done, but say that it was built for the PS3 and is going to stay that way. End of discussion, so to speak.

user_nat
You just mentioned the deal breaker. 20 gig HDD. Microsoft isn't stupid you know. They might be new to the console front, but they have been doing computers longer then most companys. No profit, no game. The only way for them to make a profit is in the amount of downloads. With the majority of people with no HDD's or 20 gig HDD's there is no way they are going to go through with this.
