I'm leaning towards a PC. What are your thoughts?

Why not?
price drops will happen next year when the next generation of PC hardware comes out. Â So you could wait till then to get the latest hardware which would be better than "next gen" consoles even if its on the low end or get the cards that are out now for cheaper because their price will drop. Â But if you can't wait then sure build now. Â You will still out perform "next gen" consoles but just know that you will be jelly when you see the performance of the real next gen. :p Â

World Peace and whatnot, but I don't need to give my hard earned money to someone else. Charity, sure. Some random dude on the street, no thanks.Â
Cosoles offer more value and have the best exclusives.

Â
what is your definition of "value" because to me PC offers way more value than a console. Â You only use a console to game a PC on the other hand...

You can't play JRPG or Halo 3.
pc + ps4, with just 1 you miss some good games. But if you have to pick one go pc, most games come to it specially since the consoles have a similar architecture now, and multiplats which are 90% of the games are way better in it.

I'm not talking about the lot that sponge the system. I'm talking about the single moms who work 70-80 hours a week to keep a roof over them and their kids heads, I'm talking about the people who are working two jobs to pay the bills so their kids can eat.[QUOTE="NFJSupreme"]

lol if you must play JRPG then sure. Â But that isn't added value because I don't play those games. Â Value is hundreds of free games on PC. Â Hundreds of dirt cheap games on PC. Â Backwards compatibility. Â Mods. Multi purpose function. Â Free online. Â That is value to me.Â

I agree, it's a shitty life. Shitty money driven society. That said, I work hard for my money and want to spend it on me. Nothing wrong with that dude.I preordered a PS4 because the price is such a sweet spot.. I'll also be building a rig this fall/winter... If I had to choose, I'd go PC all day every day. Â I can't believe how fun PC gaming is....Â

This is how I felt last gen when I built my first PC.
Every day you just discover more and more and more and more until one day you'll question the thought of playing games on consoles :P

not to derail the topic but people who are on welfare work too. Â not everyone who is on welfare is a "lazy sponge" Â most people who get on welfare get off welfare. The problem with welfare is that it allows people to be career welfare participants. Â At any period in time most of the people on welfare have been on welfare for a long time. Â Anyway this isn't a topic for this forum because I'm sure most people here don't even understand the subject well enough to discuss it inteligently.Â

If you think you can do without the Sony exclusives, build a gaming PC. Â No need to go nuts though, unless you have the money kicking around. Â $800-1000 will get you something that will give the next-gen consoles a solid @ss-whooping. Â

It also seems you can't spot a troll. trolls are so f*cking annoying, videogames are serious businessIn all honesty, people will push PC in your face, but if I were you I'd just buy a next gen console. PS4 and Cablebox One are very powerful consoles, and you can always wait a few years for them to be outdated and then buy a gaming PC.Â
That's what I'm doing.

It's less-so about the power, and more-so the fact that there are 10x more games to play, and thousands of pieces of free DLC, and mods to go with a lot of the games.
I've never bought a PC because of the power. It just happened to be a perk that went alongside PC gaming, but it's not why I choose to game on one.

Although that is true, there is clearly no shortage of games to play on PS4. I've been really satisfied with gaming on PS3 because there are so many multiplats and exclusives. You really don't want to miss out on Sony first party exclusives because they're really something spectacular (as proven this gen).
Well, i'm thinking about the same as well.
Â
Basically you first have to consider your budget, if you want to buy a pc for the future you need alot more than for a console.
Â
Second you need to decide what you want to play, the start of new gens are quite crappy but some exclusives might tip you over... i bought a ps3 for the jrpgs and while it was a disapointment considering the ps2 era i was still very happy with my purchase.
Â
And lastly are you looking forward to Oculus rift? (I am!) if you are then the pc is more than likely the best choice, then along the road (this new console gen will last prolly 7-8 years) you can pick up a console and enjoy the exclusives at a decent price.
Â
If you are rich buy both D:

hmmmm you have me thinking about waiting now.Go with the PC, I just started PC gaming over a year ago and I'm playing on it a lot more than my Xbox (I haven't turned my Xbox on since April).SweetbackhairI started a few months ago... Actually using a gaming laptop. I LOVE the portability of it, but know that its not ideal for actually "building" a rig... I plan to hook my rig up to my 60inch LED and rocking Steam in big picture mode.

that's what the pros do.
If you can do it right, definitely PC.Â
You don't have to go all out, but don't skimp on the hardware and you'll have a fvcking awesome gaming machine.Â
