Do you remember, a certain fanboys who claim that FM3 crash phyics are like the real thing? well, lets see what happens when a car collides at 230 MPH. http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/when-cars-collide-at-230mph/333944?playlist=featured

now i dont know about you, but i dont think a car should just be able to take off , after crashing at 230 MPH.. GUess FM3 is the definitive bumper car game, i mean racing game.

Obviously set the damage to Cosmetic. There are 3 damage levels in the game.

Cosmetic
Limited
Simulation

And I can tell you from first hand experience, that a crash that severe when playing on Simulation settings, would completely immobilize the car.

But thanks for your damage control. I can see the 9.5 score here (and from several other review sources) has really affected you. My advice.... get over it :)

How many times does this have to be explained: car manufacturers won't allow any sort of damage that clearly endangers the driver, and therefore it is impossible to do truly realistic damage with licensed cars.

As for Forza vs. GT, the argument has always been that Forza's damage system makes the game more realistic (and as a byproduct generally forces drivers to race properly), not that Forza's damage was 100% realistic.

The only car game I am aware of that accurately portrays high speed crashes is Burnout Paradise. GT won't do damage much different than Forza (from what I have seen so far anyway) and most racing games don't accurately portray collisions to begin with. If that happened in real life it would just be a huge explosion of parts and nothing would be left, including the humans that were driving those cars.

This. They made it as realistic as possible without killing the driver.

I would have thought that most of here understand that Forza has different levels of damage that you set before the race. SHEESH

Under no circumstances does the game ever require you to kill yourself. If you race properly and collisions look pretty decent.

You know that stuff like that isn't even supposed to happen, right? That's why car damage can only be taken to a certain level- you're supposed to race, not try to kill yourself. Race properly and collisions look pretty decent.

oh, so now we are hypocrites? i remember GT fans saying the same thing, "we dont race to crash" but didnt stop Forza fans from bashing. my my how the world change recently.

It's amazing that your comment, as true as it is, was either accidentally overlooked, or very intenionally ignored.

I guess I shouldn't be surpised given the forum we're on.

Is simulation damage on? Because if it was, the car wouldn't be driving after that.

1. I never said that "we don't race to crash" 2. I never said you shouldn't ever crash, just that you shouldn't ever turn around and ram into a car going in the opposite direction at full speed as if you were trying to kill yourself.

Indeed. And after that kind of crash, the car probably wouldn't shift out of first.

So, what does that have to do with the actual collision? Regardless of whether or not the car could move again, they still bounced off each other like bumper cars.
