Bungie is laughable...

I find this little tid bit of news really quite funny. Bungie is supposed to be this UBER developer and yet they cannot get Online Co-Op to work on Halo 3. Yet, EPIC seems to have no issue whatsoever as they did it with Gears and will have 4 player online Co-Op for UT 3!!!

Gears's levels are probably going to be 1/20th the size of Halo3's levels (and I'm not saying Halo3's levels will be huge - Gears' levels were puny).

As for 4 player online Co-Op... that mode will probably just be a bunch of VS bot battles in the multiplayer arenas linked together by cutscreens or something. I'd rather they didn't work on that at all and focused ONLY on multiplayer.

Resistance lost points because it lacked online co-op...I guess it matters more with todays FPS standards.

Don't you mean Bungie is highly successful and highly praised by other devs, fans and the media?

Also, there is no confimation that it won't be in the game, hold your horses...

Is Gears on the Scale of Halo 3. I think not. Halo 3 has wide open spaces so I can see how they are having a hard time trying to get Co-Op working. Oh and Crysis doesn't have Co-Op and I thought Crytek were great Devs.

I don't see why Bungie is having issues with online co op. If it's for the reason that players can be a "mile" apart then just have checkpoints and that will fix the damn issues! It didnt stop Halo and Halo 2's co op being good, so why should it stop this one?

Well then, I guess its a good thing that H3 isn't coming out tomorrow.

Exactly, people seem to think this rumor is confimation.

It looks sort of grim for Halo 3 having online co op, I think it matters to so many people because of the impact playing Halo CE co op with a buddy. So I think that makes so many gamers wonder why they dont put more thought into co op. misterzeno225

I think a UT and halo are much different in terms of games. Halo is probably much larger then ut is so probably makes it harder to do the online co-op. I am pretty sad that its not going to be there but id rather have the game i guess ..vik212121

It's a first party microsoft title, their big hitter, and they can't even get coop? It's not even a non linear fps, why the hell can't they get coop?Just make it so there is a "chain" between players, so you can't be too far away from each other.

Bungie is well known to the PC gaming community. That have an awesome reputation. But after they got bought by MS, I really don't know. Maybe they should have stay independent.gamenux

Lets just say that if Bungie could make it work, we would witness the virtual cries of fanboys across system wars, screaming 'Halo 3 online co-op, Halo 3 is better then ever' but until then, it doesn't matter...

Yes, it is a staple of the Halo experience. IMO, they really have dropped the ball on this one. Even EA is getting there stuff together and not just rehashing. Thats what Halo 3 is, a situation of a developer just cashing in.
