[QUOTE="gmc2u_64"]Buddy, I know that you have all of the Halo games, but that's not the point. Whenever someone mentions the latest Halo games positively, you come in randomly and act like a negative nancy, which is rather ironic.II-FBIsniper-II
It's ironic that a Halo fan is disappointed with the quality of the latest Halo games?

Yeah, the quality of Halo games has gone so far downhill it's not even funny! ODST was totally THE WORST Halo game of all of them! Screw the atmosphere, screw the interesting plot and characters, ODST sucked!

Sarcasm works better when the things you say are far from the truth. But hey, firefight was great for about a week or two.

No, it's ironic because you TRASH it. One time, two people here were discussing about how much they liked Halo 3's finale & Dual Scarab battle, then you randomly barged in while acting like a negative nancy and you pretty much trashed the game. Heck, you're even stating that Reach WON'T be any good.

I think it's safe to say that the majority of the people buying ODST, a SPIN OFF of the main Halo series, would be the most diehard Halo fans. Sure there will be others getting it, but the majority of them will be big Halo fans, fans who would have already bought all the map packs and stuff. So why did Bungie think it was a good idea to include all the maps and stuff in the game, the target audience already has them. A new single player + one new multi player mode is hardly worth the asking price, for those guys anyway. Personally I think that overall the game is good value.

I bet Microsoft put Bungie up to it in order to have something to sell in Q4 2009, we all know that Microsoft never hesitate to rush things if it means extra profit, screw the loyal customer!

How are they stupid in that sense? A lot of people got the maps through ODST, and secondly, why not put them in there? It doesn't hurt, I doubt the ones online were selling like crazy or anything, and by your reasoning the only people buying them would be the ones who didn't get ODST, since only hardcore kids who have the maps get ODST. So... By your reasoning it was smart in a business sense also... -_-. Your threads are always the most facepalmish.

I'm not saying you should be. But they did it to keep that team from being let go. I, personally, though it was great. Changed the gameplay enough to keep it interesting, brought back some of the style from Halo 1, had a good story with some great voice work, a great score, and a decent length campaign that's keep me pretty busy. What didn't you like?

I knew exactly what I was buying when I got ODST and I was slightly disappointed. Good story telling and a solid campaign, but Firefight was such a disappointment for me. It fell so short of Nazi Zombies and even Special Ops. Nazi Zombies at least lets you spend your points on guns, perks, and unlockables but Halo the point system is just for keeping score. Not as fun or addicting IMO. I mostly bought ODST for the Reach beta, not going to lie. I think that beta justified the purchase because I will play plenty of it when it's released soon.

ODST being great is debatable.

If by "debateable" you mean an opinion shared by a majority that agrees that the game was great, then you are correct.

ODST has sold in the 4M+ range. There is absolutely no way that 4M is mostly "hardcore Halo fans".

I'm sure the majority of those people just bought it because it had 'Halo' in the title.

Because that actually makes sense right?

A lot of things were wrong with this post (as usual) but two things in particular: There have been a lot of people buying this who didnt play Halo 3 to get into the MP with all the maps Microsoft never rushed it, it was infact delayed and had extra content added

You're argument is based purely of an assumption, and you're just jumping to conclusions. I, and many of my friends, didn't have the map packs before we bought ODST so it was good value for us.

I don't believe Insomniac Games set the price point for their game - most likely it was Sony. Just like Microsoft said that what Bungie wanted to charge for ODST was not enough.

They already confirmed that it was a small group working on ODST since a couple months before it was announced in 2008 The rest of Bungie's crew had been working on Reach since 2007, after Halo 3 launched

The only problem I have with ODST was that it was priced and advertised as a full Halo game when it was clearly a spin off. I don't think it was rushed though, it was fantastic for what it was.locopatho

except they didn't plan to release that, a major publisher *likely ninty* got ahold of microsoft and was in talks with them, and contacted bungie to make a spec demo which that was, a spec demo.

Dont care. The ODST story was one of the best in the video game series so far (IMO). I never had all the multiplayer maps for Halo 3 but all I did was rent ODST and I got them all for 10 bucks (the price to rent the game)...sooo i beat the game and got all the multiplayer maps for free basically, all for 10 bucks. Seems like a good deal to me.

Bungie was stupid when they when they were planning on realising this...

Avian005

Didn't Bungie have nothing to do with that DS game?

Im pretty sure they did, but not microsoft, thus why the game want ever put into further devolpment without their approval.

Actually, as I recall, Bungie had nothing to do with the DS game. They didn't make it, hell, I think it was made by a small independent team or just for recreation. I'll do some research.

Yep, damn Bungie for giving us a great game. Damn them! :x

Stevo_the_gamer
I thought ODST had the best single player since CE. I also didn't have any of the maps (except heroic) and firefight is an absolute blast.

It scored AAA. How would you deem that "rushed"??? Get over it.

it was a test for halo reach! *conspiracy* no but why did they use 2 discs? all could have easily fit on 1 disc? Reach will have 2 discs 1 campaign 1 MP

If I was close by TC, I'd hand you a box of tissues & tell you to get over yourself.
