Its called good marketing tbh, low expectations is the only way they wont flop with this game. Halo 3 will be hyped to no end, and if they release gradual changes it wont seem as good as if they release bad ones then amazing ones. Anyway thats just my guess, I could be wrong.

If any of you actually bother to READ the update, at no point do they say "the graphics are much better now". So stop being such fanboys and arguing about things which haven't even been said. Frankie simply talks about the new water affects which have just been implemented, the new physics on the plants etc. As he always does. It's an UPDATE. So quit turning it into some pointless attempt at ownage.

You are indeed, wrong. They were hounded for screen shots, but the game was very much a work in progress. So they released screens anyway, as people demanded them, plastering "ALPHA! WORK IN PROGRESS!" all over them, and they still got nothing but hatred because the screens weren't OMG! TEH REAL BODY HAIR! So now, they're not showing ANYTHING until it's finished.

Hahaha, right !!! Like the trailer and better, do you know how many times i have heard that for PS3 games ? That supposedly will be better than the first FAKE pre-rendered videos ?

Know what, they are millions of times worst EVERY TIME, same will go for Killzone, if those graphics could be done real time, 3d graphics artists would not get 4000$ video cards for fast real time previews, but get a ...PS3 instead, simply not happening

For once Keywii I have to agree with you. I'm not sure why Bungie released those awful early screenshots, that were so young they used Halo 2 textures! It's just.. ugh... they are creating bad publicity for themselves and if anything down playing the hype of Halo 3, which isn't a good thing. I'm not sure what Bungie are thinking, you're right though, they do deserve all the stick they get about the graphics. I mean, I agree with keeping the community informed and everything, but when this just causes mass flaming over the internets (which they are aware of) I just don't see it as a good thing.

The latest update isn't as impressive as past ones, interesting though if you're really anticipating the game. I absolutely guarantee one thing, it will look miles better as a final product than the 6-10 month old stuff we've seen so far.

Apparently, no matter how many times you people get told, you never understand. Bungie releases those alpha shots so that their fans can follow the development of the game, not to wow system wars graphic whores. You have the first trailer and the other campaign screenshot to show you what the final product will look like. The rest is for the fans.

Those were just teaser,the Brute video was about the Brutes,not to show off Halo 3's graphics.Bungie has yet to release any videos or pictures that has to do with showing off how good Halo 3 looks,mainly just informal videos and pictures.

I know. First they show us this godly "Ingame" trailer. But as soon as they released their first picture, I felt really let down. Honestly, why would you show a picture of your product when it looks like crap at the moment. I don't care about alll this pre-alpha non sense. I want to see the good.

man wtf? seriously I came in here expecting pics? It's starting to get under my skin that Bungie keeps saying it's looking good but show nothing! I remember when halo2 was announced they had pics everywhere..it got me really excited looking at them now and then and finding new ones waiting for the release date...as for halo 3... all we get is some pre build pics and just news about the new stuff... wtf bungie quit teasing some of us like that!

Apparently, no matter how many times you people get told, you never understand. Bungie releases those alpha shots so that their fans can follow the development of the game, not to wow system wars graphic whores. You have the first trailer and the other campaign screenshot to show you what the final product will look like. The rest is for the fans.kentlucky

dude the game is set to release late this year... all they have is supposedly alpha shots... you're telling me they dont have at least one pic of what the final product will/may look like? remember halo 2? they had lots of pics of what the final build would look like about a year or more before the released product. If they dont have a single thing now wtf? If nothing now... I hope it doesn't lead them to rush anything..cause I want a good game.. halo 2 was good but it felt somewhat rushed... and Bungie even admitted that! They couldnt add things they wanted to because of the time limit! WTF!

They also said that with Halo 3 they had waaaay more time than with Halo 2.:DMaybe theyre marketing plan is to make people like you get so excited...that you cant wait anymore by just releasing goody details but no pics or vids.;)I think its working.
