Says the 360 is a great system to develop for and that Killzone 2 could easily be done on 360 given guerilla's cooperation.
Interesting read actually.

Except its never going to happenirish4evaNo one is expecting it. We are talking about the technic behind the game, not the game itself.
What's with developers saying such things? Remember when some developers said that Crysis could be run on consoles? They swore it was possible ..... but clearly it wasn't.

I fail to see the point here. I'm sure Killzone 2 could be done on PS2 if you made certain "changes". The question isn't whether or not a game can run on another console. The question is could it be done exactly the same, using all the same graphics and effects and still run the same?Maybe, maybe not. But we'll never know anyway because it is a Sony owned title.
I wouldn't be surprised. K2 isn't as far removed from titles like Gears or RE5 as the fanboy wars would have you believe, graphically speaking of course.
From one side: well, he most certainly knows the 360 hardware a lot better than any Sony dev. On the other side: he has relationship with MS, so he could be (and probably is) biased. The "easily" part seems like an exageration.IronBass
Exactly this ^^^
I don't doubt it could, given the time and resources.
Besides fanboys and the uninformed gamer no one doubts that all 360/PS3 can be done on the other with minor differences and tweaks for each. The fact is it won't be done...FlamestosExactly, this would've been cool as a new game announcement instead of hearing what I already know could be done.
Like Bungie knows anything about graphics .Zoso-8Maybe not, but they know about the 360 hardware.

I'm going to have to assume they know hundreds of thousands of times more about graphics than you.
[QUOTE="Zoso-8"]Like Bungie knows anything about graphics .IronBassMaybe not, but they know about the 360 hardware. Yeah but they are hardly unbiased and once again, Why havent we seen similar visuals on the X360? Its all fun and games to talk about it, but if KZ2 visuals can be done so "easily" on the X360 you would think we would have seen them ages ago. All I'm saying is we should probably take this with a bag of salt.

Also Killzone looks the way it does mostly because of art style and the combination of it and the lighting. Its like asking why the movie the Matrix or 300 wasn't done before it was. Its not that others dont have the ability to create them, its that the developers where the first to envision the combination of components in such a way. If the game is as influencial as many of you think it is, they're will be games produced with similar components in the short future.

Sadly they couldn't even keep Halo 3 at a steady 30 FPS for online.
Not saying they don't know about 360 hardware, but I sure as hell wouldn't trust them if they said they could emulate KZ2 on 360 "easily"

If thats the case, we should have seen these visuals or some that surpass them a long time ago since its so "easy".lhughey

The fact is it won't be done...FlamestosPretty much what he said. Any logical man can tell you, by looking at the specs on each console, that any game can be done on the other given enough resources (time, money, devs, etc.) It's not the technical limitations stopping it, but the legal. Killzone 2 was made by a first-party Sony developer. That's like saying we'll see Halo on the PS3. Both are next to impossible to occur (with the only exception being MS or Sony license the game themselves to the other...but that doesn't make any sense so we'll rule it out).

Yeah but you also for got to mention this.
Q. Is Working on the PS3 as difficult as some may say?
From my experience tangentially with PS3, it was more difficult than 360 in the past, but from what I have heard this has greatly improved recently. My experience has definitely pointed me to the 360, as that is what I've worked on and that is what I know; but I wouldn't shy away from a PS3 game now.
So as this shows that the PS3 isn't so hard to develope for after all. All that crap they were screamingwas nonsense to begin with. But what is nonsense is the 360 and the fact that they are still failing at an extraordinary rate, and you peoplekeep putting up with it.PS3 is a superior machine and has superior games.(my Opinion)
"PS3 is a superior machine and has superior games.(my Opinion)"thekeyThat part is 100% subjective, that's why it's irrelevant :P
LMFAO!! Bungie WISHES they could make a game that looks like Killzone 2 on the 360!! Beginning of the last level Visari equals can't be done on 360. Watch the scene fanboys then talk to me.

Ironically, that makes PS3 looks worse...if you catch my drift :P
Oooh. I cought it :PLike Bungie knows anything about graphics .Zoso-8And yet halo 3 still outsold nearly every ps3 exclusive combined and is played more then them all online...hmmm? halo 1 and 2's graphics were amazing for the time, and halo 3's graphics continue that trend. I've yet to see a ps3 game with the graphical abbility, polish and gameplay of halo 3 any game you point too that is better graphically is usually brain dead in every other department.
Halo 3 looks like crap compared to killzone 2. Sales wise halo 3 is king though. But Halo 3 looks like crap compared to killzone 2 lol!!
