Depends on how much you enjoy RTS/Simulation and to a lesser extent MMO's, which are the PC's bread and butter.

An X360 generally represents better value for money, though if thats no object its going to come down to the games and the overall experience.

Tell you the truth, the reason most people i'm guessing settle for a 360 is the big price difference. If you can really get 2,000 doollars for a good pc, then yea, go for it.

Or you can just get a PC with a E6400, 2GB of RAM, and a 8800GTS for $900 like I did (it would be even cheaper now).......

Yeah, every 360 game goes to PCjust like Dead Rising, PGR3 & 4, Forza 2, Mass Effect, Halo 3, GRAW, Kameo, PDZ0, Table Tennis, Ace Combat 6, Viva Pina..... oh hang on, my bad none of those are on PC.

See, when you actually own a gaming PC and a 360 you get to see the truth of the matter and that is they both deliver very different gaming experiences with relatively few crossovers.

Either way, You = Owned.

Do not listen to any of the people here. This is system wars, I would suggest to get info and prices on both products and then make your decision.

I'll try to help:

Gaming PC range from $600-$2000

Xbox 360 $279 I think?

PC needs to be updated quite alot

Xbox 360 doesn't need to be updated yet does have some hardware problems

PC has alot of 360 shooters and games especially if you have Windows

Xbox 360 has alot of PC games and also have online and free headset

PC graphics could look better than 360 graphics

Xbox 360 works well with an HDTV and great component or HDMI cables

But the biggest diffrence is to with buying PC's you need to be smart, with a 360 you just buy the things you need and your done. Hope I could help :)

ME will be on the PC, name one Bioware game that hasn't. Viva Pinata is being ported to the PC this year. There's a PD mod for HL2, which is better than PD0. I could care less about any of those other games.

If you have the money for a nice PC, get that. You get a nice variety of games, and the best graphics to boot.

If money isn't an issue and you don't have anything against controllers, it's up to the games. So whichever has more attracting lineup for YOU, is the right choise, both have great games coming.

PC might seem more expensive, but consider whether you need a new PC anyway, and whether you have a good tv or if you could use your old PC parts and just upgrade. The more you play, the better value the PC is with cheaper games, free online and a larger selection of games.

The PC in my sig cost me a little over $2100 after tax and shipping and thats without any software. It looks a hell of a lot better then my PS3 and 360 graphics wise. If you have the money for my rig you can probably afford both though lol.

Ugh. PC gaming, to me, is a shadow of its former self. Its still probably the best platform on a 1:1 basis but thats mostly a testament to how great it once was. All the big titles seem to be either online games which sell well due to unpiratability, or technical demonstrations which come out as amazing games but the underlying motivation is ultimately to sell off the game engine. Where are the Dues Ex's, Max Payne's, Baulders Gates and Theifs of this generation?

It seems all my favourite developers, like Bioware, are going the way of the console some way or another.

They're coming, slowly but surely. I mean, with American Mcgee and Clive Barker getting back into the action with Grimm and Jericho (respectively), not to mention the rebirth of Starcraft 2 with Will Wright doing Spore, the PC is shaping up to have another golden year very soon. PS: Dragon Age. There are no PC developers that have left behind the PC. We still get the arguablly better version of all the games.

Spore looks amazing and Undying is an absolute classic (scariest game of all time?). Starcraft 2 looks very, very conservative which isn't exactly surprising considering the fantatical fanbase of the original. Is it just me or are PC's coming out as buggy messes more frequently? Perhaps its the changing hardware, but I don't remember ever having an experience as horrifying as STALKER. Thats was just a joke.

Either way i'll take anything that isn't an RTS, easily the most stale of all the genres, or some online grindfest.

Thats merely perception. The PC is starting to see a lot more (statistically and relatively speaking) indie and foreign developers getting in on the action. We still have our high budget, well developed games ilke The Witcher, Hellgate London, Word in conflict, Universe at War, etc. At the same time, you're beginning to see an influx of indie and foreign developers (especially slavic) making games like Boiling Point, Vivisector, Midnight Nowhere, and Stalker that while buggy, are extremely promising.

Maybe it would help if I put "updated". Elite? Premium with HDMI? New Arcade "play now" version? Not to mention the new CPU around the corner.

Go with what you can afford. If you aren't willing to put the best in the PC, don't touch it. Part of building a PC is trying to make sure it will last at least four years before you have to upgrade again. If you can't even get it to 360 standards before running short on cash, you're better off buying the 360.

That doesn't mean you have to buy the absolute best GPU on the market, but you should be willing to spend at least $200 on it. Also, there's no point in going for less than the Core Duo at this point. You'd just be kidding yourself. You could always get a Dell XPS. You can get one overclocked and watercooled for around $2100 dollars these days.

You don't have to spend a great ammount of money on a rig to beat the 360.

no, but it's a known fact that playing 360 games on PC at equivlant settings takes a pretty hefty rig.

Both hermits and lemmings need to get over themselves. Seriously... lemmings need to stop spouting over how a PC costs $2000 dollars, and hermits need to grow up and stop having an e-penis the size of new york. I personally think you feel threaten since both the ps3 and 360 are fastly becoming very much like PC's.

anyone worth calling themselves a real gamer would agree, despite tastes in genre.

For the lemmings:

For $580 or soI just built this rig...

Intel C2D E2160 and OCed 2.9Ghz
2GB Corsair XMS2 667mhz
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
MSI Geforce 8600GTS OC edition and Oced further to 730/1250
200GB WD Sata drive

anyone that knows PC's well enough, that is a gaming rig that pulls just under 13,000 marks in 05 and 6200 or so in 06...for under $600. Thats without any memory tweeking, etc....All from Newegg.com

For the hermits:

Drop the attitude, and stop calling every game medicore that isn't on the PC. I find it funny that hermits will laugh at how 360 owner will get PC leftovers(games that were very highly rated), and yet when 360 games come out sometime later on PC (reguardless if it was highly rated, or it just took forever to come out). Then its ok! (mass effect whenever if ever, it comes out). While we all enjoy the many customizations of PC's, you do put more money into one over a 5 year span vs a console....it simply value...and the more complicated the consoles get, the better value it becomes.

Fact is someone calling a lineup of Halo, PGR, and mass effect garbage is just as dumb as someone who calls Unreal, GTR2, etc the same.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="ganon546"]If your willing to spend a lot of money on a rig, then get the PC, but I personally bought the 360.Innovazero2000

You don't have to spend a great ammount of money on a rig to beat the 360.

For the lemmings:

For $580 or soI just built this rig...

Intel C2D E2160 and OCed 2.9Ghz
2GB Corsair XMS2 667mhz
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
MSI Geforce 8600GTS OC edition and Oced further to 730/1250
200GB WD Sata drive

dude, how do you expect to play games without a case, an os, a mouse, a keyboard, speakers, microphone, monitor, and so on?

it costs at least 1300 to built a great QUALITY gaming pc in this day and age.

Not quite. I could build a fully functional PC for about 610 dollars that totally outpefroms the 360 in every conceivably capacity.

PC is a better way to go as it has more benefits than just gaming. But don't base it on a few games, you have to see the whole picture and why you want either.

I got a Coolermaster Centrion-5 case for $50 at newegg, best bang for buck case under $100. I had everything else.

if you wanna be that technical, what about a HDTV for these newer consoles, you can say el chepo SD TV, but I could say el cheapo 15" monitor. All does the same right.

Fact is, you could twist it either way.

outperform on a technical level, maybe....but I guarentee you it won't look any better then 360 games. Which is nothing to slouch about.

Which brought me to my point, hermits ego's acting like 360/ps3 graphics don't look good.

This is the question i ask everrytime? What system do your friends own, if they own a 360 you should probably go for 360 and vica versa. That is if you like multiplayer and online games.

Sure it would. It could provide higher resoltuions and a more personalized experience in terms of AA and AF. The games would, in fact, look better. Not to mention you wouldn't have to upgrade to get the same kind of graphical fidelty.
