Well, it stands to reason that there would have to be  some  amount of delay between buying a digital game, and being able to start playing. Even if you can play while it downloads, it has to have downloading  something  for you to play, while the rest finishes. Who knows how long that first batch might take to download? This lets you get a headstart, before you're even ready to sit down and start playing.

So this is what Sony meant when they said they wanted the PS4 to be "always on"

you can already do this with steam on the cell phone and another app on android that shuts your pc down and do other things on your desktop through your phone.. nothing new here. Rahnyc4

When they first announced those features I was impressed. Sony is really adapting well to digital distribution. They understand it needs to be priced well and convenient for users. I hope that all DD games on the PSN are $10 cheaper than retail. If they do that I guarentee they'll see higher sales. Even at $50 games on PSN will make the more money because of a significant drop in overhead.

I've been calling for Valve to implement a service like OnLive into Steam and push for more games to utilize the Steam Cloud. This way when I'm at home I can download and install the games but when im away I can play my Steam games over the cloud just like OnLive. I feel like Steam is the perfect service for that. 

I would even pay extra money to unlock such a feature.

It's impressive that Sony can add stuff like this and TV to the PS4 while at the same time avoiding backlash like the Xbone had. Nicely done Sony.
