Be prepared for very few worthwhile games for it, considering you own a gaming PC and i'd assume you'll buy most of your multiplats on that.

I got one for Halo and Forza and while FH 2 and Halo MCC are awesome, mine barely gets any use as i also have a decent gaming PC.

I just downloaded Pnuema: Breath of Life to sample what the Unreal Engine 4 is going to bring and it looks gorgeous. It is a first person puzzle/solving game.

D4 is on my list of games but never gotten around to it yet. Check it out though, it could be right up your alley.

Sunset Overdrive is a great, fun paced game that has tons of humor to go with the action.

Dead Rising 3 and Dying Light got the zombie plate covered if you didn't check them on PC yet.

TitanFall is a must if you like shooters. The game has gotten so many updates, maps, game modes that it is entirely different than what launched. And what launched was great too!

Assassins Creed Unity. The best on in the franchise and 4 player coop just makes it that much more kick ass. Beautiful game.

A PC gamer getting an xbone in 2015? I guess you really like your Halo. But I think you are about to throw your money down the drain with this move.

If you haven't played Titanfall on PC then definitely get it for Xbox One. Even though it's an FPS, it just felt more at home on Xbox to me for some reason (I own the PC version as well). Just the way that you have to move around and "platform" is better suited for a controller. Not only that, but the community is alive and well, whereas it died pretty quickly on PC, mainly due to Origin sucking so badly.

And anyone telling you not to buy one is just a Sony fanboy. I game on all three platforms (PC, XB1, and PS4) and my PS4 gets BY FAR the least usage. The only advantage of the PS4 is that it's slightly more powerful than the X1. However, this doesn't matter to me (and I'm assuming you as well) whatsoever, as all of my multiplatform games are played on my PC. It's a fantastic multimedia device as well and pretty much any app you can think of is available. You'll like it, don't know anyone who owns one and doesn't like it.

Congrats, good decision. Don't forget to sign up for Xbox Rewards free, on rewards.xbox.com, it's an extra incentive for being a Gold member. It gives you discounts and adds currency to your account for simply doing what you're doing with your system and that's buying, playing, watching and other activities. Once Gold, there are a few very diverse selection of games you could try out for free such as Killer Instincts, Project Spark, Kinect Fitness, Powerstar Golf. Also with a Gold membership, don't forget to grab this month's GwG for your One, that's the full retail game Rayman Legends and top rated game #IDARB. Also this month, you'll get to play Neverwinter and don't forget Forza Fast & Furious game for free! Pretty good month to buy and own an Xbox One. There's this Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 content you could check it that's very fun, a fun game with an inexpensive price called ScreamRide that just came out and Ori and the Blind Forest that's coming out next week that looks very interesting. Hopefully you're getting free retail games with the purchase of your Xbox One on top of the discounts you could receive depending on where you're purchasing it.

TC should watch Crapgamers video on the PS4. He touched on a lot of little details that the system is lacking when compared to the Xbox ONE.

TC, check out these links when you get a chance:

Released games so far.

and

PS+/GWG (36 PS+ to 12 GWG) numbers.

You might be surprised by the results. There is also a tab to look at upcoming games for the systems.

so, indie, indie, mediocre game, mediocre game on pc, mediocre game on pc, mediocre game on pc (which he probably already have them on the superior versions).

Great advice champ.

If you were to give him advice what would you say?

"Check out The ORdeR!!! or DRiveClubZ!!! bro............ooohhh Check out more shit on the PS4!!!!"

He already made his mind up on buying an Xbox ONE. I'm sorry you are mad to know that Microsoft got another sale. Since he is buying one he was asking for further advice on the console. You can't think when your head is up Tormentos' ass can you?

In all seriousness man, if you already have a decent gaming PC you're going to see a lot of overlap if you get a Xbone or a PS4. Just look at the future exclusives and weigh your options.

Personally, I see the PS4 as the safer bet. Better hardware and more exclusives in the long run. And no, I'm not some PS4 cheerleader, the thing has been nothing but a disappointment so far.

Lots of Xbox games rolling out at GDC already. I'll put the link in here since this guy will want some of these on his shinny new Xbox ONE.

http://news.xbox.com/2015/03/games-idxbox-gdc-2015

  • Bedlam (RedBedlam): Based on the novel by award-winning British author Christopher Brookmyre, this is a shooter for everyone who remembers gaming in the ‘80s and ‘90s!
  • Beyond Eyes (Team17): How does a blind person navigate the world? This unique title might give you some sense of what it’s like to live in a world without sight, as you control a young girl in search of her lost cat.
  • ClusterPuck 99 (PHL Collective): This competitive sports game features eight-player local competitive action.
  • Cuphead (Studio MDHR): A run-and-gun adventure, with plenty of 1930s style animation to keep things interesting! It will make its console debut on Xbox One!
  • Earthlock: Festival of Magic (Snowcastle Games): An exciting, nonlinear role-playing game.
  • The Flame in the Flood (The Molasses Flood): A rogue-lite river journey through the backwaters of a forgotten post-societal America. It will make its console debut on Xbox One.
  • Fortified (Clapfoot Games): An exciting new take on action-strategy games that combines shooter, real-time strategy, and base defense mechanics.
  • Game 4 (The Behemoth): One of the weirdest turn-based strategy games you’ll ever play, with plenty of The Behemoth’s unmistakable style.
  • Goat Simulator (Double Eleven): You are a goat, and you are on a rampage. What more do you need to know? More goat to the people!
  • LA Cops (Team 17): This top-down strategy shooter celebrates everything awesome about ‘70s cop fiction.
  • Magic Duels: Origins (Wizards of the Coast): The world’s most beloved collectible card game goes free-to-play! It will make its console debut first on Xbox one
  • Mighty No. 9 (Comcept): This Kickstarter darling is the brainchild of acclaimed developer Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man. True side-scrolling perfection!
  • Pixel Galaxy (Serenity Forge): It’s one heck of a hectic shoot-’em-up, inspired by Katamari Damacy. Grow, make friends, and survive together!
  • R.B.I. Baseball 15 (MLB.com): The legendary Major League Baseball franchise returns with fresh game modes, authentic ballparks, improved animations, and deep stat-tracking.
  • Rivals of Aether (Dan Fornace): This fighting game challenges you to uncover the elemental mysteries of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.
  • Shadow Blade: Reload (Dead Mage): Guide a young ninja on his journey to seek the teachings of the last remaining ninja master as he embarks on a quest for revenge.
  • Shovel Knight (Yacht Club Games): Steel thy shovel! The amazing retro sidescrolling adventure is coming to Xbox One!
  • SMITE (Hi-Rez Studios): The next evolution in multiplayer online battle arena space. Assemble your team, choose your hero, and destroy your opponents. Stay tuned for details on the Xbox One beta, coming very soon!
  • Submerged (Uppercut Games): You’re trapped in an ancient, half-submerged city, with next to nothing. Explore the flooded cityscape and scale its buildings in a fight to survive!
  • Super Dungeon Bros (React! Games): A multiplayer dungeon-crawling extravaganza with a rock music theme. Get your bros together and get ready to rock out!
  • SWORDY (Frogshark): In this multiplayer physics brawler, you will hit your friends until they explode. You really have to see this one to wrap your head around this craziness. We’re pleased to say Swordy will debut first on Xbox One.
  • The Sun and Moon (Digerati Distribution and Marketing): It’s a platformer with a twist: You can dive into the ground, reversing your gravity while conserving your momentum. Winner of the Ludum Dare 29 competition!
  • ZHEROS (Rimlight Studios): This 3D action brawler – set in an alternative future universe – is rife with engaging combat and outrageous characters.

And the show just started today!

Killer Instinct's pretty sweet. If an Xbox One dropped from the sky and landed in my entertainment center I'd happily buy Killer Instinct and MCC for it.

  • I'd consider buying games digitally. It's so much more convenient being disc free. And they have much better deals on games digitally than in stores (some of the times anyways).
  • If you're going to be doing much gaming on it, get an USB 3.0 external HDD (USB 2.0 won't work for storing games). You might not need it right away but when you start running low on space then it'll be worth it. Or if you don't mind juggling which games are on your HDD then you can do that.
  • Be sure to get a controller charging kit, it includes a rechargeable battery and charging/power cable, Xbox One does not come with a charging/power cable... well, mine didn't anyways.
  • I'd also invest in the official Xbox One stereo headset, which comes with two pieces, the stereo adapter which is worth it on its own (allows you to plug in any 3.5mm stereo headset device), and a decent stereo headset with microphone.
  • Be sure to get yourself a Xbox Live Gold membership, to be able to play online and get free games and good game discounts. How you want to pay for it is up to you, longer memberships are cheaper but you have to pay up front.
  • Be sure to manually set it to output at 1080p as I believe its default setting is 720p.
  • Remember games are tied to your XBL account, so don't make a habit of making various accounts and using them to buy digital content. I'm tired of hearing people say they lose track of their various accounts and rights and how it's Microsoft's fault.
  • Also, remember the email account you use to register your XBL account. Another thing I hear people do is register their account to an email they don't use and then forget the password to the email, then can't use that email to recover their XBL account if they should forget the password and need to recover their account.
  • It costs $10 each time you want to change your XBL gamertag, so pick a good one.
  • Reach out to friends that have Xbox One consoles. Even if many of the games on the Xbox One might be games you have or can play on PC, playing with friends is so much more fun than playing with strangers.

Yeah man thats a pretty stupid decision. Most xbone games come to pc anyway. Buy a wiiu or ps4 - lease you will get a better coverage of exclusives then.

I'm surprised you'd go for the xbox one. I'm assuming in a year or two they'll throw that halo collection on pc, as the markets only growing, and why not start windows 10 off with one of their best known IP's. I could be wrong just don't see why they'd throw away potential money when it's obvious people on pc would buy into it.

Though you might be able to crossplatform play between your pc and xbox one so it might end up being the better of choices in the long run for co-op like play in your own home.

The reason he is getting people who think he should rethink his decision is that pc/xbone is a horrible combo - its 90% pointless. Xbone by itself is ok value - but xbone/pc is pretty stupid.

Might consider a WiiU. X1 is a great console, but you'll see a lot of the same games with a PC. PS4 is equally if not more worthless. Still, if you really want one it's a great media box and has some good exclusives. MCC, Forza Horizon 2, and Sunset Overdrive are worth a buy.

Most of these points are great, but I am personally against paying to download games, and the deals are really not that great. For example I recently saw you could download Black Flag for $30 for one of the weekly deals with gold. You can go on ebay right now and buy a copy for $15 that you own forever, can loan out to friends, or even sell someday.

@bigboss5ak: shop arround . a lot of great deals out for x1 .

I got 1 last May . this week end I traded my ps3 for a ps4 and 275 bucks . I can't believe how much smother the xbox one is over the ps4 in everything .the downloads . online play . the OP system. Javent been wowed by the ps4 graph8's either .didn't have any money left over to buy any showcase games for ps4 yet but I been playing last of us remastered . it's ok kinda boring but I'm gonna keep playing till I beat it .if I bought it at Wal-Mart I might take it back and wait for ps4 slim . the Wi-Fi seems terrible in ps4 .I been trying to download oddworld for 7hours now and it still has 3 hours to go .and it's only 4.79 gigs .

PC/PS4/Wii u

PC for the best multiplats which is 95% of games right now, ps4 for the best console only games and sony exclusives, and wii u for the amazing nintendo exclusives. Anything else is wrong. Having a pc and xbone is being redundant since xbone is a poor man's pc.

This.

TC should watch Crapgamers video on the PS4. He touched on a lot of little details that the system is lacking when compared to the Xbox ONE.

Oh lord Crapgamer, LMAO the guy that got exposed making fake reviews for PS4 games using gameplay from other peoples videos.

Good luck, sincerely.

I'd wait nearer till the release of Halo 5 to see what deals are available.

Get Sunset Overdrive, I hear good things.
