Things to watch out for:

1. Get ready to buy A LOT of batteries since the xbox one controller uses batteries so make sure you constantly buy AA batteries to use that controller.
2. Make sure you keep a separate $60 on the side because that is how much its going to cost you to play online on xbox one.
3. Be ready to receive about the same exact game franchises over and over again Forza, halo and fable
4. Xbox One barely has any free to play MMO type games ( No FF14, no warframe, etc ) ( since you're a PC gamer i'd assume you like MMO's and free to play games )
5. Multiplats look worse on the xbox one

OP don't let the fan boys and nay sayers sway you. If you like the console and the games that it offers, get it. I use my Xbone more than my PS4 right now. Its a cool system with decent exclusives. Im in love with KI. MMC while broken, still is a decent set of games. I still need to get Sunset Overdrive. Im playing Rayman Legends to right now. Its free with games with gold. Also, feel free to add me all. Sykox300x on Live and PSN.

Owning a PC and then buying an X1 or PS4 is just all kinds of wrong right now. It's just a complete waste of money.

Yeah, it's a great console which offers unique experiences, games and features with a lot of PC integration to look forward to in the future with Windows 10. Since you're a PC gamer like myself this is something really nice to look forward to. Don't listen to most of these people, almost everyone in this thread is a single platform owning embodiment of peasantry and fanboyism. PS4 owners are going to tell you to buy PS4's and PC gamers only are going to tell you that if you have a PC you don't need an Xbox One etc... Seriously don't listen to these people, what they're trying to convince you of is not for what's in your best interest, it's about them and their shallow views.

I have not been disappointed with mine and I got it at launch and that's really all there is to it. The Master Chief Collection in a single player capacity works perfectly from what I have seen, there's literally months of content there even without the multiplayer aspects. In regards to the multiplayer it works mostly fine, sometimes the que to get in a match can take a few minutes but it's really not a big deal. There's also a big patch for this game on its way so right now is definitely the time to buy.

Who are you going to listen to? All of these negative naysayers around here who swear allegiance to a single platform and don't even own an Xbox One or a guy like me? It's a fun console, I enjoy mine quite a lot, I'm sure you will as well, best of luck!

Either way, my perspective is based on owning these machines. Your perspective I have no idea what it's based on. All I know is you read my post above which doesn't contain advice to buy a PS4 or Xbone and you didn't like it but if I recall you don't own both machines either. Who knows, if you were in my shoes and owned a PS4/Xbone you might feel the exact same way. It's kind of easy to call users out if you don't have the experiences they have. I'm telling you though, my experiences with current gen, while not wonderful, are based on my machines and games for my machines.

I didn't give advice one way or the other, but I did provide a link showing ALL THE games he can buy for both machines (and I've known the TC for years). If that link has more games for one machine over the other, that isn't something I created but rather real information the TC should have. I gave the TC a link of software released and GWG/PS+ released (same link) to make an informed decision knowing he has a gaming PC. I speak as an owner of these consoles, PC, Wii U, 3DS, Vita, Wii, PS3, and 360. I think buying a PS4/Xbone right now if you have a gaming PC is a mistake, but if you are going to bite down, at least know what you are in for.

I own these machines and I'm not impressed with either machine (even worse if you own a PC and other machines as I do), but there are some differences in software the TC should be made aware, differences I notice every week with my consoles when I'm downloading games or buying games as retail.

One thing is for sure, buying these machines based on last generations 360 and PS3 is a grandiose mistake of epic proportions. The Xbone is no 360 and the PS4 is no PS3. Everything we learned last gen is reset and there have been some rather surprising changes in store for someone going from a 360 to Xbone for example.

Well, TC, probably the wrong forum to mention this. But, for what its worth, I like mine quite a bit. Pretty anemic on the exclusives side, frankly. Then again, so is the PS4. I haven't picked it up yet (still trying to get through shadow of mordor), but from what I've played, Sunset Overdrive is a blast. If you're a racing fan, Forza is a must, and I've messed around with Killer Instinct 2 and really liked it. At any rate, hope you enjoy your purchase.

1) I've had the same 4 rechargeable eneloop batteries since my 360 days. 20 bucks for them, they last about 15 hours of usage with a headset being powered by them as well and always have a fresh pair. never have to plug in the controller.

2) usually can be found for around 40 bucks online. last time i renewed mine i paid 45 for 13 months. XBLG goes on sale much more often then PSN+ i paid a full 50 for my PSN+ both times so far. I've never paid more then 45 for my XBLG.

3) so infamous, UC, KZ, GT, LBP isn't the same franchises over and over? Yes you'll get froza, FH, Fable, halo and gears. same way we get 3rd party CoD, BF, AC, GTA, Madden etc over and over. They also threw out new IPs like Ryse, Sunset overdrive, quantum break, scale bound, to name a few. what new AAA IPs has sony shown? knack and the order? bloodborne? not exactly setting the world on fire.

4) really? because neverwinter comes out this month on it, warframe has been out, FF15 is coming, Smite is coming, and who knows how many more. I'm not a F2P fan so i can care less, but there are options. the only one the PS4 has the XBO doesn't is blacklight, but the PS4 doesn't have neverwinter or smite. Its pretty even in the crappy F2P options. Except the XBO is getting fable legends which is F2P coming soon as well.

5) hardly, and if there is a difference its usually pretty minor and can only be seen by zooming in on some small detail via digital foundry. Gamestop even did a blind test of shots to decide if it was PC, PS4, or X1 and the results were hilarious. most people couldn't guess right at all. I have both and don't notice any major difference in the multiplats.

Since you already made up your mind in getting an Xbox One and asked for advice in what to get for it, the people who bring up anything else but recommendations for the Xbox One are being off topic and exposes them as being fanboyish. They will probably bring up some lists or comparison with another console, but that wasn't what you were asking advice for. An Xbox One list from something like Wiki would suffice but nope, what was brought to your attention was an inaccurate comparison list and since you already chose the Xbox One, a comparison list is pretty useless. And then they will probably bring up that they probably own all systems trying to make it seem that their opinion is better than the opinion of someone that doesn't own all systems. Again, you didn't ask for a comparison, you simply asked for advice to what to get for the Xbox One. Those who only own an Xbox One or mainly plays on that more than any other console will probably give you better advice in what to get than someone who owns all but favors the other brand especially when posting history proves that. And then you may get some that brings up full retail prices of things as if there's no other choice than the retail price. Most likely they are mostly Sony consumers, Sony consumers especially the ones here in SW are some of the dumbest consumers since they buy things at full retail prices and they only bring up full retail price. No wonder why they are labeled cows because they get milked and that's retail price milked. But there are some good advices from Xbox One owners above already. Congrats on your purchase, you have chosen a great system for games and entertainment.

If you are going to pay for MCC, you waited four months and those that bought it at launch paid full price because they didn't want to wait. However, you waited and deserve a better deal imo (especially because of the issues). Do yourself a favor and and save $20 at Walmart, Amazon, or even Target since you waited this long.

Although I own an Xbox One and enjoy it I have to agree with several people in this thread that if you have a gaming PC you may want to consider the fact that Microsoft is gung ho on supporting PC gaming with Windows 10, Fable Legends being a game that's also coming to the PC and will probably be superior to the Xbox version.

I play on consoles because I'm not into PC gaming but if I had a gaming PC I'd wait and see if games like the Master Chief Collection, Sunset and FH2 will be coming to PC or not.

Oh trust me I am well aware of the deals online but it was more a spur of the moment kinda thing. I didn't want to wait 3-6 days for it to arrive in the mail, I wanted to get home fire it up and start playing right away.

Edit: ahh I may have missed that walmart deal, I may it return it and get it there. And no I didn't get any free games with it. I was trading in my 360 for the 100 dollar off deal towards an xbox one which is why I went to the MS store.
