out of curiosity, how much better are the graphics on Killzone 2 or MGS4 compared to the best looking games on 360? It's hard as hell to decide... I'm leaning toward the 360 pro or the RE5 elite edition, or else the 80 GB PS3 (given that you can upgrade the hard drive so easily). The lack of DLC for PS3 is disturbing, though - hope that changes and companies start releasing for both platforms. But KOTOR (I wanted to play the old X-box game, again) and Mass Effect, and Fallout 3 are both available on PC, as well. Those are the only RPGs I really care for. When I get another computer a year or two down the road, I'd be able to play those... I guess it comes down to do I want to wait a year or 2 to play Fallout 3 and Mass Effect - and will miss Halo 3 more than I'll love Killzone 2. Also, will I be missing out on the larger online community of the 360. MGS4 and Killzone look like they have some of the best graphics out there - but 360 definitely has more quality games, at this moment. Again times change, you can follow the "rules" here all you want, everything is objective in this forum. I Believe Killzone 2 crushes Halo 3 based on personal preference (I own both as well), and I also believe standards change as generations progress. The problem is, review scores aren't revisited later on in a consoles lifespan...so while what you're saying is true by the "rules", its not necessarily logical.

If you are getting a game system today... then get a 360, there are great deals online; if you can wait till the April price cut, then get a PS3, free online is a kicker.
Though, if you plan on playing online EVERY week, less than $0.80 (XBOX live is $40) a week is not bad at all and if ALL of your friends have a 360, you don't want to be the odd man out with a PS3.

You can join clans in most of the games (where you can add people with only mics and drop people who don't have them) ....... a lot of these games have great player counts too - which provides very good variety within the games. You can play massive battles or more intimate games.

Then you get 90% of the multiplats that are on 360...only a few are worse on the ps3 do to lousy devs...some like Oblivion, Burnout Paradise, Dead Space, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament 3, Eternal Sonata, Devil May Cry4, Command and Conquer red alert, are better on ps3.... It's ironic that Oblivion is better on ps3 but fallout3 is considered not, keep in mind that Bethesda had some shady under the table deals with MS for fallout 3 and came out way too soon probably do to MS pressure...but to be honest there are a lot of textures that do look better in ps3 fallout 3, it just is missing aa..all bugs have been fixed and is playable and fun.....Future multiplats will look better on the PS3, Tekken 6, and FF13 are natiave ps3 games and will be ported later to 360. Rage and Doom4 from ID are said to look better on ps3 as they need to be degraded to fit on 2 360 discs when they need 3, but ms charges per disc, so they will cut content and let the ps3 version have the full versions. Games are getting bigger and devs are learning how to kick out better games on ps3 now, you will see the 360 getting worse version from here on out unless they are paid off by ms to have the content equal(degraded)
You can't go wrong with ps3 online. It is virtually lag free with 64 players online in r2, and 32 in most games, mag will have 256 players versus 10 for gears...ps3 uses dedicated servers for most games while 360 uses peer to peer, which is why there are less players allowed per game, and ms makes you pay for that...360 has advertisments, none on ps3. Ps3 has a web browser so you can watch hulu, you-tube, and surf the net...some games have integrated web interfaces in the games so you can go to killzone.com or the rock band store in game, there is a globe news serivce like on the wii but better, it's integrated with folding at home which lets you fight cancer, aids, and other disesas while your not using your ps3 (you can listen to your music durning it and it shows where each ps3 across the world is connected to it.), there is home with a new ea sports complex coming out next month with poker gambling, and racing, home also does live developer talks and interviews..they just did a re5/sf4 one in the resident evil 5 home space, people are walking around in ryu, chung li, ken outfits, and some helghasts have been spotted....home is not as bad as lems would have you believe, it is getting better every update. You can stream all you movies pictures and music over from your pc, or copy them the same way(or just use usb connections). The ps3 uses remote play which lets you play some ps3 games on your psp, lets you play ps1 games on your ps3(yeah you can play ps1 games on your ps3 and psp by itself too), watch movies from your psp, and even connect to the 8 person video/audio chat room from the psp. The Trophy system in ps3 is great, it works with levels and bronze, silver ,gold, and plat trophies, its almost like a system wide rpg. The sony blog keeps you informed and lets you talk to the devs. They post on it multiple times every day.. they are very focused on working with the PlayStation community.. which is so great! Finally you have a built in wifi, 7 controller connection over bluetooth, blu-ray movies, blu -tooth or usb headsets, web cams or ps eye, keyboard mouse support, A video store, a games store, and there are no ads. IT's free to play online, every ps3 owners has access to everything! It's a reliable console compared to the 360!!!! No rrod! The ps3 has god of war 3coming that should be reason enough!!! lol.... The ps3 is the greatest console I ever owned and I have been gaming since the atari 2600/intellivison back in the early 80's.

WHOOAH wipout hd is native 1080p i forgot to try this out butnow playing for first time on my 52"xbr6 hadnt played it since back on my old rca 720p but it looks freaking AMAZING in motion!!! i know its off topic but thought i mention since its ps3 exclusive
Get a 360 if you live in north america, get a ps3 if you live in europe, if you live in japan get a 360 for the RPG games, if you live anywhere else, get a 360 because it still sells more worldwide.PhazevarianceCome on! System sales don't make one console better then the other, it just proves that people in North America are cheap...(I live in usa btw..) and that the 360 had a year headstart , so of course it has more exclusives it had a year to itself...graw1 was a 360 excluisive because ps3 wasn't out, graw2 came out on both, do you think people are gong to buy graw1..no... DON'T PLAY THE SALES CARD! is that all you lemmings have? Parents see the cheap price for the base model 360 so they will buy their kids that system, not knowing about the pay to play online or the absent hard drive and wifi the cheap 360 doesn't have, and 360 doens't have a lot of things....I won't mention them again as I already posted a long post about it! But again don't buy a system because some lem plays the stupid sales card!

And your maturity level(age or how old you act), keep in mind that the xbox live community is known for immature hyperactive pre-teen behavior(or adults that act that way), halo3 is filled to the brim with them, not all but most I've seen in halo3 are like that! They curse and call you all sorts of racial slurs while screaming or blaring their music into the mics....or doing some other obnoxious crap...I have never seen that behavior on ps3 games ever....I have seen tight knit communites and clans working togeather in multiplayer matches and helpful people offering advise to newbies...ps3 has the better community as far as i am concerned...and I think a lot of that goes along with the price. again parents will buy their kids the cheaper up front system, while not doing any research at all, this will give you the diversities in the two online communities.

Interchangeable objectives. Squads. Full Clan Support through PS3 and PC. Badge/Ribbon System.
If a game does nothing new, does it make it a bad game ??? no.
Killzone 2 might not feature new ideas but it does everything right. @TC get a PS3.
