Day one for me!
"Who's your team?"
"Some old comrades."
A lot of ex respawn developers went back to infinity ward.
EA > Activision > EA > Activision
It's just a joke for them at this point, leaving one company for the other.
Something is missing xD. Novalogic staff shaped modern FPS games. Infinity Ward had Delta Force devs.

Activision has always been better than EA.
COD has always been better than battlefield.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault says hi. The guys who made it for EA went on to form Infinity Ward and made Call of Duty.

Can't believe there was a time when EA was making games like MOHAA and Activision was making games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory.
Great times!
I read something very interesting from a developer at Infinity Ward, that they were challenged by fans to make morally gray and relatable characters, that they should make a game set in a believable word.
Ok, my respect for COD fans was just raised tremendously.

Wait, this is what the CoD fans challenged them with?

Here is the quote in full:
"We’ve done a ton of research coming into this game. What we’ve determined is social commentary like that has always been in the DNA of Modern Warfare. We’ve sent research teams around the world. Players have unanimously told us they want those emotional connections. They want complex, morally gray characters. They want gameplay that feels ripped from the headlines and delivers relevant, relatable, and provocative moments that only Modern Warfare would have the guts to show. For me, as a developer who wants to push the medium forward and do things people have never seen before, getting to work on a franchise, Modern Warfare, where that is expected, is a dream come true."
Could be a bunch of corporate bull*** to sell their game, but I was really happy to read that.
PC crossplay with consoles? Uh oh. Poor console gamers.
Maybe they will nerf overpowered keyboard and mouse players by locking the PC version at 24 FPS?
Yeah, no. :P
I think they should ban KB+M players to play with console users. I wouldn't want such an unfair advantage myself. I'd slaughter everyone. That's not fun. They could have PC players playing with console players, but only if they use a controller, imo. Your average casual player have no idea or cares (the majority of CoD players), but the difference between playing an FPS with KB+M and controller is fucking huge.
Yeah, no. :P

Honestly the most logical solution is to allow crossplay for COOP mode, or other non-competitive modes only.
And this sounds really great. You are gaming on PC, your friends are on console: No problem, you can still play together!
This is really promising, and this is what the future of gaming should be.
Still in game purchases, still premium items you have to pay extra for. I'm calling a season pass in the future no matter what they say.
Sure, there will be microtransactions, lootboxes... That's a given. And they've already made a deal with Sony to screw over PC gamers and Xbox gamers for $.
But they won't do a season pass in the traditional sense. As these paid mappacks tradionally split a playerbase and it's not beneficial for either the base purchasers as well as the season pass purchasers.
Yeah, no. :P

Absolutely. Crossplay is awesome. It's just that playing a competitive FPS with KB+M against someone using a controller that's a problem.

I don't know. It might be the easiest solution to just ban all the competitive modes for crossplay from a PC. But what if you're using a controller with your PC and want to play vs. console players? You wouldn't be able to. That's not cool either. To just make it impossible to play competitive modes against console users if you use a M+KB setup sounds like a better solution.
@Litchie: Sure, PC gamers playing with a controller shouldn't be teamed up against their KB/M brethren, but there are still exceptions even if you would have this perfect system.
For example there are, a very tiny portion, of console gamers who hook up a KB/M setup to replace their controller.
Aren't we at 20-something?
Didn't count any of the spin-offs nor the mobile game. Didn't count the one Vita either, haha, that one is best kept a secret.
But yeah so basically there has been one ever year since the series inception in 2003. But there was also a two year gap between COD 1 and COD 2 so I thought the number would be 15 in total by now.
So uhm ... yeah I just used wikipedia in the end ^^
