Official word on the 360/PS3 differences:
Despite claiming 1080p support on the back of the box, COD 4 appears to run in 720p on the PlayStation 3. Either way, you'd be hard-pressed to tell it apart from its Xbox 360 counterpart. And all versions control just fine, making the decision over which version to buy totally dependent on which controller you like the most.
[QUOTE="-TheSecondSign-"]Campaign mode is much shorter than those of the average shooter.
That is a letdown.

Have you played it? The campaign may be short, but it is incredible.
No, I haven't played and I don't actually take reviews very seriously. I form my own opinion(heart user review system).
Still, that is somewhat unsettling. It must be entertaining though.
if it had a meseley two hours more of online then it would be up to average games like halo and gears and other call of duttys. would that mean there would be nothing wrong with the game. because that is the only thing under the bad categoary.
who buys FPS for the campaign. you can rent the game once or twice to beat it. if you dont go multiplayer with it the game is useless.

People that enjoys games like Half Life, System Shock/Bioshock.
Campaign does mean a lot to some people and not to others. It all depends on the game to me, I'm use to Call of Duty having a really nice campaign with decent length so hearing that it was short made me a little upset. I'll hold final judgement until I actually pick up the game and beat it.

Infinite Ward didn't lie when they said they were identical, like many fanboys claimed to be.

Thats perfect for me, because my HDTV is 720P. So PS3 Call of Duty is perfect. Like they said, youd be pretty hardpressed to see the difference between the two versions.
It the second to last paragraph... it is implied that the visuals of the Xbox 360 are slightly better than that seen in the PS3 version because of the PS3 version running in 720p... of course he goes on to say it is negligible, however, this should put an end to the cows trying to claim ownage with the PS3 version have slightly better visuals.ZOnikJJ
I think when the graphical comparisions are so close like they are in this game, it shouldn't even be debated as to who as the better looking version. They aren't going to be exactly the same, but the tiny amount of difference you will see between the two titles should not be bragged about.
I think this confirmed all of our fears about the game. The compain is much shorter than anaverage shooter. There is no excuse for that. This game just turned into a rental for me. Halo 3 and Orange Box takes care of all my multiplayer needs. I was looking for an epic compain here. Failed.

PS3 is more expensive."Despite claiming 1080p support on the back of the box, COD 4 appears to run in 720p on the PlayStation 3. Either way, you'd be hard-pressed to tell it apart from its Xbox 360 counterpart"
We know what version to get

I'm sure it is but that is why I will rent it. I'm not spending 60 bones for a 5 hour compain. Sorry

have fun trying to rent it. It will be months before you'll be able to find a copy on the shelf. Just quit complaining and purchase the thing

what does that even mean? the PS3 version is 720p native, but can't be upscaled to 1080p? as opposed to what native resolution/upscaled resolution on 360?

Thats ok....with the tons of great games coming out I can wait to play the game. I'm not spending 60 bones on game who's campain is even shorter than average. I'll spend 7 bucks, rent it, beat it, then return it.
Did J. Gerstman imply the ps3 version looks a tad better. "Despite claiming 1080p support on the back of the box, COD 4 appears to run in 720p on the PlayStation 3. Either way, you'd be hard-pressed to tell it apart from its Xbox 360 counterpart."
Not a fanboy thing
