Or it might not be confirmed on the Wii and it could just be a coincidence that it's on a Wii page on IGN.

Read...."No further detailers were announced for any of these titles, and no platform plans were listed for the games listed. IGN will have more on all of these games hopefully early in 2008." from the article you linked me to.
Thats what IGN does, they have tabs in more then one platforms page for the same news. COD 3 was on the Wii but COD 4 wasnt. IGN is just playing it safe by posting it on the Wii platform because you never know if they may comeback.
Personally I doubt it, unless they make a PS2 version of COD 5. If they dont expect it to be a game that follows the lead of COD 4 with advanced graphics, physics, and A.I. Not the kind of game you think of when you think of a Wii game.

Well I typed in Call of Duty 5 and it came up with a Wii version, and there wasn't even a [Rumored] thing after it. Damn you IGN if you have fooled me.
Who cares, no offence to the Wii, but its not really the ideal platform for games like CoD.whocares4peace
Yeah. Well, you know, Ãf you don't take the superior controls into consideration.

Treyarch, the same people who will most pronably make CoD5 as well.IW doesnt do Wii games.
There's a reason cod4 wasnt on the Wii, it would have just held back the other two (scaled back or eaten up too much development time). I really hope this isn't true. However i have no problem with another company porting it to the Wii.
360 will be 3 years old when this releases, and ps3 will also be really getting into its stride, theres no way the Wii will be capable of being even close to handling a game that these two should be putting out next year
Sigh... this practically just confirmed that Treyarch are making it..

That's not the point. Wii is capable of havingthe best consolefps controls, therefore it kind of is ideal console for fps. CoD3 on the Wii had the same problems in the controlsas Red Steel, but the devs have learned and there are now games with better controls on the Wii.

Fine, even if the Wii version of CoD5 ends up having good controls, it still wont change the facts that the 360/ps3/pc version will be better.CoD is a game based on intense atmosphere and graphics, things which the Wii doesnt excel at.

if u put into effect the improvements of the ps3/360 u have to put in the improvements of the wii over time.thats the only fair way. and it will be the same differnece that it is now,in theory.
but im sure by then game devolpers will have realized that controld/gameplay>>> graphics while looking at the wiis sales compared to ps3/360

Ever occur to you that maybe just MAYBE it was the controller itself. I still think the Wii mote is too twitchy for a shooter especially one without lock-on.

HAHA! no atmosphere? Have u ever played metroid or re4? See how I didnt just say atmosphere, but atmosphere and graphics.Graphics are a major component of Call Of Duty, and add realism to the atmosphere. Its another aspect at which the 360/ps3 version will excel compared to the Wii counterpart.

Man, I love how people think atmosphere is based on how many pixels are in the game. Are you telling me no game before this gen had good atmosphere? If so, I'm guessing your first system was your 360?

That doesn't mean that Treyarch (who I'm sure is the dev of CoD5) will put the time and effort to ensure good Wii controls.
You can keep deluding yourselves, but cod4 on the Wii would never have even approached the greatness it did on the other platforms, regardless of what control scheme it used.
I predict that there will be a revised Wii in late 09/early 10 (since its not in direct competition with the other two it can launch whenever it wants) and one of the first titles on the platform will be a port of cod4!!

Well, I have played it, and by far the most effective control scheme to use is the one which allows you to lock on using Z lock, it's on the lowest hardness setting.
Wii FPS are most effective when using lock on because of the nature of the controls.
Ever played Corruption? That had the same lock on deal.

Yes... I've played Corruption, but I turned the settings to advanced, so locking on isn't really locking on... I guess if you play it with that setting... But it's got the option to not do that... and it's really good.

Locking on IS locking on on those advanced settings. I think you're getting lock on confused with auto aim.
The Z still lockson in Corruption even under that scheme, using advanced just gives you more option of where you can put your fire. The Wii struggles in FPS without lock on.
it goes without saying that the 360/ps3/pc versions will destroy it. JPOBS

Eh? You lock on but can aim wherever you want? That's not really locking on at all, all it does if you lock on is let you straff around the enemy...
I don't see what straff lock has to do with aiming...
I also find that I don't use the lock on feature much, becuase most of the enemies can break the lock.

Sure, however it's still third party support if true.
