Haha thanks.
I cant really blame gamebreakerz for thinking the way he/she does. I was exactly the same until about 8 years ago when I had to spend some time in the middle east. I witnessed uncut footage of some awful **** go down. Not gonna get into details as its some unsettling stuff, but I'll just say it has to do with the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Then when I saw the US news coverage of the incident I was absolutely shocked. I've lived in the US most of my life and as such, I consider myself an American. I never used to doubt our govt. and media, but that day I saw first hand how devious and untrustful our media really is. I actually threw up, I was in such disbelief.
It really changed my outlook on a lot of things and since then I've invested a lot of time researching our media, our govt., our allies, our enemies, and our history trying to find truth in all the nonsense. I wont say I found truth as that is not for average joes like you and I to ever know, but I will say I found a lot of reason to not trust our media anymore than I would trust some ranting conspiracy theorist on youtube.
it is messed up tho, ive been taking alot of foreign study classes and im planning on taking a trip out of the country in the next few years.....i want to see how it looks on the other side sometimes you know what i mean
Its definitely a good thing. The unfortunate part is that often other countries think that all Americans are a bunch of loud, obnoxious, spoiled drunks lol. I spent some time in Egypt though and kind of understand why since a lot of the tourists there really fit the description.
But there is no greater thing than being able to see other places in the world. Seeing other cultures and ways of life really is an eye opener. It can quickly change your perspective on a lot of things.
Hopefully when you go to visit other countries you can actually be around the real people of the country and not just be at a tourist spot. So many people travel to other places only to stay in a "America hub" and I think that defeats the purpose. Its good to have someone native to the country you're visiting to go hang out with and see what life is really like for them. I know I already mentioned Egypt, but seriously living like an Egyptian was a blast! I love the place and the people so much.
