and recently the gamespot review went from a 9 to a review in progress.

Pathetic attempt to get page hits, and most likely honey up Actision for future prospects.

when Prey get 6 and this and wolfenstein 2 get 9. anything can happen.

So now Gamespot gets the blame for not sucking upto Snipers favourite games and giving them a 9 ? :P

He'd have also given PREY a 6 and Wolfenstein II a 9 :P

Can't discuss anything with you as you really don't play the games you bash.Watch a couple of vids on youtube, search for negetive reviews online, and god forbid if the games got QTE to pass judgement easily. If you had played the games we could've had a nifty discussion about the games pros n cons.

Doubt it, he was a tough reviewer. And, PC gamer only gave it an 81, which is probably closer to what Kevin would have rated it.

Dude, If thats so why He'd rate PREY above Wolfenstein II as PREY got 79 by PC Gamer? Lets not jump on what Kevin could've or could not've done lol.

Wolfenstein II is a solid shooter over PREY anyday , major reviews, users agree to it and lets stick to that lol.

I understand. I won't bother you again with your playing sp anytime soon. Take your sweet time to get into it and meanwhile enjoy its mp to the fullest man :)

Nah, you're not bothering me ;)

I'd love to hear your impressions on the singleplayer campaign.

I've been going after the assignements in multiplayer (get x amount of kills in certain game modes, win every single game mode in game). And some of them have been pretty tough, but the rewards are usually pretty sweet :P

@Wasdie said:

I hear that in between matches you go to this cool social area where you can interact with other players and whatnot. It's kind of a neat gimmick ripped from games like Destiny and stuff with its social zone back at the Tower. However it leads to the major downside of having to load an entire level when you're done with a match. This is really slowing the amount of games people can play in a sitting which has always been the strength of the series since CoD 4.

Also apparently the PC version has some serious stuttering issues and generally low performance. Sad.

Load times in general are pretty fast, I play with the game installed on an HDD, and it's fast enough for me. No complaints.

The social area is pretty much where you get your daily missions, to play certain game modes or to achieve certain thresholds.

It's actually kinda fun to visit this area after a match or a few matches, to see how you've doing (instead of tracking that progress from within a game)

See, matches in COD are pretty short, but they are also pretty intense. So it's nice to visit this quieter space. A space where you can socialise, and get rewarded, and do some leisure shooting, and get rewarded, and more rewards.

You get rewarded for viewing other people getting rewarded, it's actually pretty fun xD

How's the performance ? For me about 80% of the matches control absolutely great: game looks great, runs great and there is absolutely no lag.

than there have been matches where people just jump around (lag), or where the performance seems off (but I'd also say this is lag) or framerates dip (this also seems like lag)

But I can't quite put my finger on what is causing it. Is it really performance ? Because the game runs absolutely fine for me in the War mode matches, where there is way more goin on, and where there are bigger maps.

So...what are your impressions? Is it really a 9? Any buyer remorse?

IGN hasn't released their review yet or any score. So when they delay that much it's usually because they will bomb it lol and giving Activision an opportunity to sell the game on launch before they do it. Infinite Warfare got suprisingly low score from IGN last time, 7.8

It may bomb even on G.S. Get a lower score later on. Personally i'm enjoying it as i'm a sucker of COD specially WW II FPS games. But hey, thats my opinion. If you wish to skip it, no issues man as after all its your choice :)

Actually i have bought it. I am such a sucker. Every year I am telling myself I am not gonna buy a COD on the launch day and every year I still buy it because everyone is playing it. Besides I did miss a lot WW2 setting. I will definitely regret it, as next year they always cut the price in half on Steam for COD games after the new Call of Duty is announced. If I were more patient, I could easily get it cheap next year.

@R4gn4r0k: I guess I was talking more about the consoles, which have pretty terrible load times. Considering CoD's primary audience is on the consoles that's a major oversight by the devs.

@R4gn4r0k: not even best Wolfenstein game. I gave it credit that they improve shooting very much after new order. But everything else suck. Like new order. I couldn't complete it. Old blood is by far best of new Wolfenstein game and even that game was average to mediocre.

Was only able to play two matches today scattered in about two hours worth of loading, restarting the game, and restarting the Xbox. Party chat with friends worked the whole time though.

Classy move Activision. You would think in this day and age companies would get their shit together for launch weekend. BF1 didn't have nearly this many problems.

Not at all.

War mode and a return to WWII is the best thing to happen to this series, which judging from past releases was on life support for me.

Could the devs do more to go back to it's roots ? Sure, but the game is really fun as it stands.

Yeah you'd think consoles would do better with the game being installed on an HDD, instead of being read from the dics.

it's kind of a vicious circle: game sells more on consoles > game gets more development time for consoles

The PC version however is not half bad here, and it's the good first impression I got from the beta that sold me on the game.

Frontlines and operations are what these maps were made for !

But I was talking about Medal of Honor: Frontlines, and how that had an awesome D-day scene ^^

My favourite has to be Call of Duty 2's D-day scene though. Played that just after visiting Pointe-du-hoc.

I even loved COD 1's d-day sequence, where you played as a pathfinder during the paratrooper landings.

They didn't bomb it on GS:

"Update: We've now spent a handful of hours in multiplayer matches with both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Though there were moments when lobbies were slow to load, and instances when Headquarters were empty, these issues were sporadic. Otherwise, matchmaking and connections have been largely stable. We've converted this into our final review, and have updated our score to reflect the Xbox One version of the game."

So it seems like there were a few issues, but those were sporadic.

Seems like my experience too. It seems like 90% of the time servers are fine, but then there are these occasions where the game is hitching or lagging too much, but then I just leave the servers so meh...

Not enough to impact my enjoyment.

Hopefully once you finish the campaign and jump into MP the game (and servers) will be fully functional.

Look at the haters come out of the woodwork. I'm not even a big COD fan, but I usually get them for campain and Zombie mode. I actually quite enjoyed the Campaign of Infinite Warfare, I'll get this new one but not at launch, I'll wait for a sale. Not in a hurry with the XOneX coming out in T-Minus 72 hours

CoD MP sucks. For MP I have Battlefield.

I rented it. it's okay so far I enjoy it. I was hoping the gameplay would be a little more slower paced like older CoD (before matches got really heavy towards the end, like in War or Domination). I also wish the maps were more open too, think Eder Dam or Merville from CoD3. The tight corridors in the maps are all over this one just like most modern CoD games.

Honestly the last Call of Duty game I got was COD Ghosts. Loved it but yea I do miss the franchise. As of recent, I wasn't liking the whole "running on walls" thing, so I skipped those. I just wanted the original COD back. This looks to be the game to get back into for me.

I guess Destiny took it's place for a while which was why I haven't played COD in years.

@indzman: prey is more creative than those 2 games combine. There's the reason it's highly praises on steam and those 2 games are not.

Bioshock and Deus Ex newest are more creative. PREY while good has repititive enemies.

@svaubel: having your shit together on launch day is an exception, not the rule in this hobby. Gamers buy anything day 1 despite knowing this.

Just like The New Order is highly praised on steam.

You are gonna make an argument about steam reviews one moment, then ignore steam reviews the next ?

I played the beta on PC and wasn't happy with it. It's a decent multiplayer shooter with a good TTK but lack of dedicated servers kills any competitive FPS. The spawning was awful as well. Classic being shoved in front of other players and getting instantly spawn-killed.

@ChubbyGuy40: At this point I think the horrible respawning is done by choice to insure even the worst players get a kill.

Seems like a lot of variation in the SP missions, I liked that a lot about the Advanced Warfare campaign too.

Yup :)

I'm not praising COD WW II campaign as great as WOLF II's tho. Its really short, but really fun while it lasts. Good Voiceover, Character Animation's, The Graphics. Like a well done old school WW II FPS :)

Yeah the graphics in this game are pretty insane. I also really like the sounds in COD.

But it's hard for any FPS to outdo Wolfenstein II this year. It's hands down one of the best games I've ever played.

Yet you play games meant for 12 years olds. The irony!
