Calling on gamers in Thailand... or south east Asia

good luck actually buying games...if your a PC gamer, than go for digital distrobution....I really doubt you will find any store in that region that sells ligitimate games outside of maybe Korea and the MMO market.cobrax75

thats what i'm worried about, if I can't find any good retailers i'll order straight from Japan.

I'm almost certain that you'll be able to find at least a few stores in the country, probably in the capital Bangkok which will sell genuine copy games. And if not then import region free games from Singapore, it's closest and they stock pretty much everything and anything in Singapore, it is after all a transit nation.

I am Thai student in US. I left Thailand for 4 years. I am sorry I do not know any place right now.

However I recommend you to go to this website www.gconsole.com(one of the famous game websites in Thailand) and go to the webboard.

I know it is a Thai website but there are many people there who know English and willing to help you.

lol, they have internet in Thailand, its not some 3rd world Country. Bangkok is very modern its just that gaming isn't so big as here. I'll try that playasia website when the time comes to order new next gen systems. Heck maybe i'll open a store and sell the hard to find games.

Anyway, there are bound to be stores in Thailand that sells video games. If all else fails import from Singapore/ Hong Kong etc. They have everything there.

This is Bangkok, so your saying a city like this doesn't even have internet? lol... they have internet cafes even and wifi hot spots everywhere. Bangkok is very modern and very massive, its on the same level as Los Angeles and New York City.

Its true when most people think of Thailand they think 3rd world, but Thailand is not as poor as most think, at least not in Bangkok. Of course they do have those village tribes that live like the ancient people. Bangkok in itself has Sky trains, Subways, massive bus and taxi services and little 3 wheel cars called Tuk Tuks. Also that picture doesn't do justice to how large it is. Thats only one view but if you could pan the camera around it would be the same in all directions.

I agree, sometimes the old ways are pretty special and forgotten and I admit once outside of Bangkok things get more.... how do I say, "traditional". In fact there are no other cities like Bangkok in Thailand although their beaches and mountain ranges make up for that.

Developing the country side is taking them pretty long though. I was in Thailand 10 years ago and the difference in development back then was pretty big, hearing that it hasn't changed much is pretty shocking. I may be biased as I was living in Malaysia at the time, but atleast malaysia seemed to have spread the wealth more around the country and not just in Kuala Lumpur.
