Can Killzone 3 be the Halo Reach killer?

I think it can be. The game is looking awesome.

Reach will remain the more popular game, will have sold better and will be played online a lot more for a lot longer. That being said, it's possible it could kill Reach in it's gameplay... But it'd be hard.

Single player Killzone 2 was a better game than Halo 3 much better,in pretty much eveyr aspect from graphics to AI.

Do the people that ask if a game can "kill" a series even know what they are asking?

IMO, Tf2 and CSS already killed Halo 1,2 and 3+ODST and Reach.

A long time ago in an age before memory it was written that there will be only two types of threads on SW about FPS exclusives on the PS3: Either it will kill Halo in popularity or it will kill Crysis graphically.... Any deviation from this and hell will freeze over and Satan will give out free sleigh rides and snow boarding lessons....

My opinion I don't care for any of the halo games I played. I purchased the first 2 and never completed them. I love the Killzone games I also love the gears of war series so it's not a fanboy thing. :P

The only way I could see a game being a killer of another game is if majority (if not all) of a userbase transfers over from one to another, leaving the former dead. For Killzone 3, they would have to have so many users go out and buy a 360 just to play Killzone 3. I don't see that happening.

Exclusives on different platforms do not directly compete with eachother, so no.

Will I enjoy it more? Yes, yes I will. I'm pretty much done with Reach. The lazy maps and abuse of armor lock has killed it for me.

If by "kill" you mean have more sales... no. But I love Killzone's gamplay, now sure if it is better than Reach since I never played it, but it's good.

reach is reach and will be popular among lems for the rest of this gen as it is the last bungie halo and the last great halo. killzone will be the premier fps to cows and the franchise will continue grow under gurilla and sony.

I don't have anything against killzone and I'm not a halo fanboy but i think Killzone and Halo should stop being compared they have so many differences.

Iwouldn't be surprised ifKillzone 3 wasa better game than Reach, at least in single-player; Reach was very good, but even GS, when looking at the E3 preview said that Killzone 3 looked lightyears beyond any other shooters.

At this point, Halo has incredible popularity, but it certainly hasn't been the "de-facto"best shooter for most of this generation. I'm not saying it hasn't been in the running, but it's not as if Halo has had no equal. Personally, I just find it to be a little behind the times. You STILL can't look down the site of your gun, you STILL can't cook grenades, and you need a special powerup to SPRINT. Furthermore, it has lacked the visceral "wow I am in the middle of a war" immersivenessofCOD.

Halostill does a lot of things right, but to act as if it is stillthe definitive shooter of this generation is giving the series morecredit than it deserves.

Nickelback and Britney Spearssell more albums than Peter Gabriel, but that doesn't meanthey arebetter musicians. Michael Bay puts out atrocious movies that rake in more dough than Coen brothers movies, even though they are artistically incredibly inferior. I am not comparing Halo to Nickelback or Michael Bay, but just making a point that sales doesn't necessarily mean the highest quality. Halo is a very high quality game, but just because it sells more than KZ doesn't make it the better franchise.

And it also came out almost two years earlier;a 9.5 a couple of years ago may be closer to a 9 now. Would Halo 3 have scored as well as it did if all those reviewers back in 2007 had played COD4 first? That is something I have always wondered, seeing as how COD4 really took the world by storm, and released just a couple of months AFTER Halo 3.

No, Call of Duty already did that, which is why GG is making the MP more like CoD this time around.
