[QUOTE="XaosII"]Hai guyz, do conzoles use CD's? I never haer about teh conzoles using CD's. XYZVector
No man they use punch cards, just don't lose the order of the cards or you will have to re-index them, and 10,000 punch cards take along time to sort.
Hahaha! Even before magnetic tape! You are A TRUE GAMING VETERAN![QUOTE="MC2K8"]You know what's funny (for us "older" gamers)? Some of these young gamers don't even know what a cartridge is (on a console). I'm only 23, and, I'm saying this...hmm....drewtwo99
Oh noes not the tapes!
It would take anywhere from 5-10mins to load some games, only for it to crash! Even worse was when the tape loader would shred a tape! Argh!!!!!!

Yup, those crashes were the worst. Luckily the game was copied as well on the alternative side of the tape, so after it had played all the way through, it was ready to just be turned around and played again. I wonder how many cassette tapes it would take to put oblivion on?

Oblivion on tape, god help us!
I remeber Monkey Island 2 on the Amiga came on 22 floppy disks, or was it 11, it was some crazy number anyway!

I would happily spend the time to load 10,000+ tapes it would take to play oblivion if it were possible, because I hate teh DVDs and the HD on PCs![QUOTE="drewtwo99"]

FEAR came on 6 cd's so are many other pc games. Silent hill 3 came on 5 cdsNot to take his/her side but there are people out there who would think in that way; just as a lot of people believe standard DVDs are in High Definition. Or that any flat screen is an HDTV; i've run into all types.
I imagine the TC will be creating a new account after this one though.
[QUOTE="TrailorParkBoy"]ya know what? I think us lemmings and cows should just stfu and settle are differences, we are really just the same. I think this thead might bring us closer together.drewtwo99Too true! Unite! we should all buy those cereal boxes that have those special power rangers rings and we can all join together and fight crime.
Yeah, and there are also people who believe that Nintendo doesn't make games, they publish them. Not to take his/her side but there are people out there who would think in that way; just as a lot of people believe standard DVDs are in High Definition. I didn't know FEAR even came on CD, in the UK anyway all ive ever seen is DVD versions. The last game i bought which came on CD's was Doom 3, which came on 3.
Least it shows PC's don't need Blu-ray or HD DVD because of installing to the HDD.

Haha, the hitler einstein thing was tremendously funny.Agree'd, PC's are just far too annoying to deal with for gaming. Especially since the graphic card you'd need to buy each month to keep up with console gaming costs twice as much as the consoles itself.wok7
From another thread. Really, the TC is just looking for ways to bash PC gaming.

Hahaha, yes... because the dual 7800 GTX cards I have that I bought 2 years ago aren't about just as good as the consoles of today... I have to buy new graphics cards very month![QUOTE="takisse"][QUOTE="drewtwo99"]Maybe the TC has been posting on an Apple II this whole time and never knew about the advances in monitor resolutions over the years!drewtwo99

Ok, well sorry for getting defensive. I guess if you don't know me, you might think I do system bashing or whatever...but for future reference... normally people like me with a post count as high as I have don't really just blindly make fun of things like that. Anyway, no harm, no foul.[QUOTE="dracolich666"]No PC gaming is far behind next gen consoles.drewtwo99
