Yes, SW is definitely the best place to ask that...

Well I didn't see a better option..

PS4 if you aren't a die hard Halo fan.

Same here man though we agree X1 is the 8th gen awesome gaming leader, the PS4 does play..erm is sales leader. Eh, perhaps he'll pick up an X1 later this gen and see what we're talkinbout. :P

Now I'm asking honestly here not being a smart a$$ or anything but tell me what the Xbox One has over the PS4. To me it looked like the same stuff on both consoles for the most part only more games on PS4 and generally they run better and at a higher resolution...at least in some cases. Like I said I like the xbox controller more but when you add it all up I just didn't see a reason to go xbox over ps4.

Looks to me like you bought into hype and what you really seem to care about is power, a very small difference in power that is. As a matter fact, so small that most people can't really tell the difference. But that's all that matters right? Anyway, here's a list of what the XBO has over the PS4 so you be the judge.

-Support for external storage

-MP3 support

-DNLA support

-Snap

-Windows 10 integration (coming soon)

-game streaming between PC and XBO (coming soon)

-can play CD's

-Skype

-Dedicated chat servers

-more apps

-Gamertag and Gamerscore follow from Xbox 360

-Controler: rumble triggers and better battery life

-better online matchmaking

-XBL is more stable (seriously, it means the difference of being down for 2 hours or being down for 2 days!)

-Azure - more servers = less lag = better

-faster updates (MS listens to the Xbox community and actually gives us stuff that we want)

-x2 HDMI connection (in and out)

-x3 USB.3

-better Wifi - Wifi "N" 5Ghz/2.4 Ghz (dual band support)

-IR remote

I'd also like to add that Windows 10 will be out soon and will be heavily integrated with the XBO this will be a serious advantage.

Power is not all that I care about but when you pretty much have the same stuff on both consoles why world you go with the one that performs worse and at a lower res?

Like I said I like the Xbox controller better but other than that I could see no reason to go with the Xbox over the Playstation.

So far I have to say I really enjoy the ps4 so far.

I might get a Xbox one down the road if I see a reason for it.

The resolution thing was blown way out of proportion it's a stupid argument pushed by desperate fanboys. There were plenty of systems in the past (that includes the PS2) that were a little less powerful compared to their competition. So much hypocrisy. Anyway, enjoy your PS4.

*edit* "but when you pretty much have the same stuff on both consoles" You seen my list right? Because it doesn't look like pretty much the same stuff to me.

Well there are only a few things on that list that I care about to be honest. The remote and the network stuff is useful and the rest is just extra junk I don't care about.

I'm sure the Xbox is a fine console though.

I'm really a pc gamer at heart and feel like it has no equal if i were being totally honest. The thing is I need to dial back on my game time due to family, job and other responsibilities and I don't want to deal with upgrades, drivers and all the other things that come with PC gaming. At some point in my future I'm sure I'll build another PC but for now I need gaming "light" and not gaming "heavy". That's not a shot at consoles but I'm just saying that I don't have the time I used to so I'm at a point where I think consoles fit best.

I have paid no attention to this generation of consoles because I have had no reason to. So I don't know anything other than the Xbox One getting some bad press about running at a lower res than the PS4.

So...I like action, RPGs and FPS. What's the near future look like as far as exclusives and what console looks like it's going to be getting the most support? Stuff like that....

Thanks for any info.

I think you should take two things into account, the controller and the games.

What controller do you like best and what exlusives you like best and that's all you need to know.

Both systems are similar in power, sony fanboys will say differently but it isn't. The xbox one has the better cpu , the ps4 the better graphics card. The difference in graphics power is bigger than the difference in cpu power but since there's a cpu bottleneck with current gen games both cancel each other out.

i can't use the xbone controller because i like the 360 one better its just a total downgrade

whereas with the ps4 controller its literally 1000x better than the last dual shock 3

so it feels like a beefy upgrade and im loving it and has all the features stock perfect headset jack and rechargeable battery included

it fitsmy needs perfectly for this gen cant say the same for the xbone and honestly i don't care whjere the analogs are at if the rest of the controller sucks theres no point in that

I'm confused as an owner of Wii, 360, PS3, Wii U, PC, Xbone, and PS4.

PSN IDs transfer and trophies follow from PS3 to PS4.

How is that Gamertag/Achievements 360 to Xbone transfer part of the list of what Xbone has over PS4 since the PS4 does the same thing with PS3?

I agree with the other stuff you listed, but this one point in particular I don't understand as both machines (PS4/Xbone) transfer the IDs and trophies/achievements from the previous consoles (PS360).

You posted this point a few times in SW, but I don't understand as both machines are equal in that regard.

PS4, no doubt.

Hell, I'm not even sure why people buy the Xbox One.

You never got back to me after I dropped off that money saving information...did you go back to Best Buy?

Get a free DualShock 4 or Destiny? Get another game, or gift card?
