This. Cod has become so big that almost everyone has it and would rather have it over all of those games which is just a bad thing IMO.No, I think COD will upset their sales.

MW2 Huge hype. Sold a ton, people were disappointed. Game was buggy and poorly polished.Swore not to buy the sequel.
Black Ops came. Huge hype. People thought that all things wrong with MW2 were going to be solved. Sold a ton, people were disappointed. Game was buggy and poorly polished. Swore not to buy the sequel.
Cod 8 will come. Huge hype. People will come to think all things wrong with Black Ops will be solved, series will go back to it's roots. Will sell more than the previous. People will be disappointed. Game will be buggy and unpolished.
Cod 9 will come...

And that pretty much sums up the pre-release buzz for every COD game since WAW.

Don't get me wrong I like Cod but I think it may just be a bad thing that Cod has pushed aside so many other good games that deserve to have better sales, is all.[QUOTE="Yangire"]This. Espcially Homefront. No, I think COD will upset their sales.

It's the sonic cycle for Call of Duty
Did the load of FPS games in 2010 upset CoD: BO sales?
Bad Company 2, MAG, Halo Reach, Bioshock 2, Alien vs. Predator, Medal of Honor, and Metro 2033 were all unable to unset CoD in 2010.
Is there any reason to think that Bulletstorm, Chrysis 2, Rage, Duke Nukem, BF3, Socom 4, KZ3, Brink, and Homefront have a chance of CoD8?
I think CoD8's only chance at failure is that they lost too many key members from the IW departure.
We keep saying this, and I am waiting for this day like Tony Hawk did, but every year they keep getting stronger. More consoles, more word of mouth, I just can't see it, especially if the next one is MW3.I think COD is going to upset its own sales.

That is what I was thinking. There was some heavy hitters released like Halo,MoH and BC2 but it did not slow down CoD. If those games could do it there is no way something like Killzone could.Did the load of FPS games in 2010 upset CoD: BO sales?

Nope, The next CoD could be made by a pack of fleas but will still gather up record sales simply for the 'Call of Duty' in the title. No matter how buggy and unpolished it may be it will still outsell the great FPS's.
I think cod is going to hit a sales wall, it has reached the max market its going to get to and i see it on a dieing road, plus if bf3 comes out the same time as mw3 it could steal alot of sales from it.

True, but eventually people are going to get tired of it. Activision's business strategy pretty much makes that a guarantee. Plus, I have a feeling MW3 isn't going to turn out well. Three devs on one game isn't really a good sign.
There is a 0% chance of that happening sadly. I see this year as one of the last years the COD franchise will be able to get around 20 million+sales. The three devs working on the next COD game,Activision's own greed, the loss of key IW membera and the IW vs Activision lawsuit will have a big impact on the future of thefranchise.
