Can we agree the Sony train is unstoppable?

Best sales, best hardware, best third party partnerships, huge Japan support. Exclusives haven't had their stride yet, but are coming very soon in 2016,2017 and so forth. It's occurred to me SW that PS4 is the most beautiful console to ever grace our hands. Can we finally agree that Sony took this gen (and gaming in general) back in one fell swoop?

In terms of sales and support from Japan, I would have to agree.. The Xbox One's only hope of winning any sales war is in the US.. The worldwide sales race is over.. Sony has won that..

In terms of overall system features, exclusives, and everything else that makes a console great, I'd have to say that the jury is still out on that one and personally, I'd say that Microsoft has the advantage there for the moment..

It needs more quality exclusives, but overall the PS4 is kicking ass.

- PS+ is every bit as good as Xbox Live while being slightly cheaper.

- 2016 will see some quality 1st party output on the PS4.

- The PS4 will soon get a price drop in the US making the overall value that much better than the XB1 for the same price.

So far most of the PS4's library can be played on other systems. Whether it be multiplats, exclusives turned multiplats, or the endless stream of remasters.

But I do applaud new IP like Bloodborne or the upcoming Horizon.

I'm sure the PS4 will be a great system once it has quality exclusives like that and more. As for right now ? Nope, no reason at all to own one.

Basically sales is the only thing that makes the PS4 noteworthy at the moment.

The PS4 library of games is a vast wasteland of terrible indie games made by some guy in his basement, with an occasional decent title sprinkled on top. The XB1's library is arguably better as far as the amount of good games go.

The hardware is better? Even with the better GPU, it's easy to pick this one apart. Aside from that GPU advantage, the XB1's hardware is literally better everywhere else. The CPU is better in the XB1, it runs quieter, it runs cooler, and it supports external hdd. The XB1 controller doesn't have problems with its rubber on the thumbsticks literally crumbling into your hand like the DS4 does. Aside from the GPU, the XB1 handily beats the PS4 in every other hardware aspect.

Best third party partnerships huh? You guys spent all last gen crying about how all MS had was third party support, but now that Sony's the one who relies on it vs their own exclusives it's some sort of advantage? MS still has plenty of third party support. Just because some Japanese weeboo games aren't coming to the XB1 doesn't mean it doesn't have third party support. As far as the whole Battlefront, AC, and COD partnerships with Sony goes.... It's just marketing deals, and they are with Sony only because the PS4 has basically squat coming out in the near future. Sony themselves have already stated this.

Sony has taken gaming back? Where did gaming go, that it needed to be rescued by Sony? Sony hasn't saved gaming or anything. I don't get your point on that one.

Yes TC everyone can and should agree, that the world's most powerful games console is proving unstoppable.

In terms of games or hardware its lacking

It's been a bit more than 1.5 years so far. There are still 4-7 years to go before this gen ends. PS3 was under-performing last gen in the beginning as well but later, life time PS3 sales overtook Xbox 360 because of its exclusives. Keep in mind that most multiplats, especially towards the beginning of the gen sucked on PS3.

Many games from PC developers were broken on it, others never saw light of the day on it, because architect was so complex that it took years until they finally learned to use it properly... Yet PS3 succeeded and if you start the poll right now, most people are going to choose PS3 as a best platform for last gen, thanks to exclusives from 1st party.

Microsoft can do the same with Xbox One. They can win the generation by releasing excellent games. That's all they need to do to win this gen because as far as multiplats are concerned, it's in way better shape than PS3 because both PS4 and Xbox One have PC architecture.

The only difference is that Xbox One is a bit under-powered and devs have to reduce the resolution and textures a bit to run the game on it. It's not like Xbox One is holding back full potential of Sony's Super Computer.

Are there good games?

No? Oh, that's too bad.

Good for Sony's shareholders, I guess. I'll stick with my PC with several lifetimes worth of amazing games that I could literally never play all of and the best everything.

It is pretty mind blowing as to why exactly the PS4 is selling so well. That's about it, nothing in the Sony camp screams out to me and make me want to grab one.

i cant see anyone catching up really in the console space.

sony have done an excellent job of making the PS4 the go to console to get the latest games this gen. yes its a bit weak in the exclusives department (hence why i dont own one) but for people who just want to get a console to play the latest COD, fifa and so on the PS4 just becomes the default choice for most people.

i mean its a great sales pitch: the most powerful console with pretty much all the same features for the same money, or less, than its main competitor. it has all the major third party support so really, if you just have a PS4, there are tons of games to play on it.

itll be interesting to see if sonys big guns actually have a big impact on PS4 sales when they do arrive though.

I don't think even Blackace see MS winning the generation,there is absolutely nothing they can do to change that,which is the reason they have dropped paying for 3rd party multiplatforms they know it would be a waste of money.

Even if the took US back the xbox one is doing even worse than the 360 outside US,there is no way of catching sony,sony catch MS because they manage to keep strong sales in mainland EU and Japan where even at $600 dollars they outsold the xbox 360.

Let me put it this way if the PS3 in 2007 was $50 dollars less than the 360 with 2 free games it would have completely obliterated MS and the xbox 360 as price was one of the reason they took US,the xbox one can't even do that now at $350 vs a $400 PS4 and that is where the mark difference mainly stride.

PS4 vs Xbone is like the movie Snowpiercer with the PS4 being the train and Xbone being the outside world. Yeah the xbone was very fcuked up in the being and the PS4 seems nice but the more you begin to see each system for what they really are you begin to see the PS4 is just meh and the xbone is an enjoyable experience. Those first impressions of both machines did alot for each's one image.

Lets test that one..

On launch the PS4 had PC vs PS4,in fact sony had PC vs PS3 last gen to.

On xbox one is wait for it is coming with windows 10.

On PS4 there is Shareplay you can play with your friends game online even if he didn't own the game,and you can even take control of your friend games and play it for him.

Nothing like this on XBO.

On PS4 you had since last gen free apps like netflix and hulu on xbox one they were free after the units started to bomb sales wise and fall behind fast.

On PS4 and since last gen sony had PS+ which charged you a fee and gave you up to 24 games per platforms with 1 account working on all sony platforms,Vita,PS3,PS4 which make 72 games yearly between all 3,copy by MS this gen.

And i don't even want to talk about mods which sony also supported last gen and now MS want to.

Live has been over hype for years,fact is where it counts online gaming they are both about even,some games run fine on XBO other have problems same with PS4 which is based on developers and not the structure itself,Halo MMC,Drive Club early.

There is even more waiting on the other train and the quality isn't the same either...lol

Not only that, I wonder from where the **** he got that PS+ is "slightly cheaper" than XBL when it´s all the other way around and only "slightly cheaper"; XBL is way cheaper ( $35 US ) than PoS+ ( $50 US ).
