@sealionact: Ok I'll bite, what else did they show?
Not many were expecting gameplay demos from Sony, so the fact they did so helps makes the case for Sony.
MS won because of the surprise element and pacing of the conference which plays a big part. But it's all about opinions I enjoyed both but Sony did what I expected and ms didn't they exceeded.
@Starshine_M2A2: Xbone still needs an AAAA exclusive title. Didn't see one presented. You could argue Halo, which looked incredible, but I won't trust another 343 Halo game until it's in my hands and I'm playing it.
Xbox had more high quality content than Sony, but Sony's content was higher quality.
Yeah Microsoft had the best presentation easily. One of the best conferences E3 has ever had IMHO.
Funnily enough though, Microsoft gave me more reason to be excited for my PS4 than Sony did.
@Starshine_M2A2: I totally agree that MS won this years E3! Last year it was Sony for sure but this year its Microsoft that takes the crown! Im stoked that they acquired Ninja Theory! I truly loved Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice! But i played that on my PC maxed out such a great game. I will definitely get a PS4 PRO later this year but i am excited finally for MS and whats to come for my Xbox One X.
@sealionact: Ok I'll bite, what else did they show?
Too much for me to remember. everything but 18 games exclusive to Xbox and PC, 50 games shown, 1 new studio created, 4 studios purchased, next gen xbox confirmed, Gamepass improved, streaming platform announced .....
MS did have the better show, but with that said...
FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2018..................
Forza Horizon 4 is the only AAA exclusive MS has coming to XB1!
Sony still has Spiderman PS4 (a bigger franchise name than GoW)
and
Nintendo has Super Mario Party, Smash Bros Ultimate and Pokemon all 2018 for Switch.
So...yea MS has the best show but what did that really win xbox in the end? If we're going by actual games releasing, MS still came in last place.
Both show one AAA title with release dates in 2018. Sony shows 3 more without any hint of release date (One of which looks like it was developed while on acid), and MS show Gears 5, Crackdown and many more releasing in 2019 .... along with creating a new studio and buying 4 more, confirming next gen consoles, a streaming service, more games and improvements to Gamepass, great indie games like Ori 2.
MS showed more games unavailable on PS4 with release dates than Sony showed without.
I can accept that of the big 3 MS "won" for best show. (as I run off to order Project Octopath Traveler, Captain Toad, Smash, Fire Emblem, and Pokémon Lets Go)
MS gutted Sony fannies so bad this E3 that they don't even know how to respond. They are in perpetual damage control.
Lol... you can imagine people like Quack and his herd of cows preparing heaps of material before E3 so they could go after MS, after their conference. They're so disappointed.
Sony wasn't bad but they showed four games, all of which were already announced and had a disorganised press conference.
Microsoft showed 50 games, had far higher production values and reactivated two of their biggest franchises.
Undoubtedly many will argue but perhaps its time to swallow your pride and have the strength to admit that MS had the more impressive showing. There's no shame in it. Your favourite console won't go anywhere. Not to mention, you'll have earned my respect - and my respect will see you through.
Wait so multiplatforms count some how for MS but not for Sony.?
lol my god lemmings just loss it...
MS gutted Sony fannies so bad this E3 that they don't even know how to respond. They are in perpetual damage control.
Yeah so badly...
Halo gear forza welcome to 2005 all over again.
The battletoads logo.
Oh and a Mutual of omaha wild Halo CG without any launch date.
Oh did i forget that everything MS showed you don't need an xbox one for,and you even save $60 a year of XBL if you buy it on PC?
The xbox one is a no exclusive joke, you don't need one, PC made it redundant.

You are not supposed to relish my bait son, you only make me look good.
Microsoft had a good presentation, but unfortunately we can't play a presentation.
Sony Won with amazing exclusives!
You can't play Sony presentation either. LMAO. When is the release date for the 3 of the 4 exclusives they shown again?
Which mean total shit when we just got GOW with a 94 score,we get spiderman latter on and at the start of 2019 days gone, is not like you need 10 games at once, sony is killing it meanwhile the xbox one has a drought of good games, and the 2 releases so far this year they got flopped to hell.
Again is better to play 1 exclusive + other multiplatforms than just play multiplatforms, again we don't an xbox one to play those games PC make the xbox one redundant,oh and on PC you also get exclusives that you don't get on xbox,so basically is a loss loss for the xbox, what you consider good play anywhere is actually what make the xbox one redundant.
Is nice to see you still hiding on release dates as if it changed anything with the streak the PS4 is having.
You are not supposed to relish my bait son, you only make me look good.
You are not bating any one dude this is you...hahahahahaa
I can agree that their shows was more organized and straightforward than Sony's, for example, but to win? I'm not too sure. For me the win is between Ubisoft and Sony. Ubisoft also had a somewhat entertaining, well organized show with some cool surprises. I really like how Assassin's creed looks now. They made me want to play it.
Sony's first 20 mins were terrible, except for TLOU 2's demo. But they quickly turned it around and showed us what we wanted to see. Gameplay. They also showed some surprises as well like Remedy's new game and RE2 remake. Sucks that they held back some release dates though. I mean not even a general timeframe.
MS, though, had a lot of timed exclusives, multiplats, and non game related material. There really wasn't much time to really show anything substantial, except for FH4. And while it's great that they acquired new studios, I feel like that could have been announced separately from E3. It would have also been great to announce these studios along with a teaser of what they are working on. The absence of that just tells me that we won't be seeing anything from them until next gen. I would have rather have seen something else in its place, like a gameplay demo of an upcoming game. I also remember Phil stating that they weren't going to be announcing games that are too far out anymore, yet there were a few titles they showed that had no release dates (Halo: Infinite) or even a trailer that shows any kind of gameplay (Battletoads).
They even teased new hardware. It's almost like they threw a whole bunch of stuff at a wall to see what would stick.
How was RE2 a surprise? It was announced a longgg time ago and was expected at some stage during E3 (along with DMCV)
So you mention MS having a load of multiplats, yet mention RE2 and Remedys new games as a "plus" for Sony?
LOL
As an E3 presser, it was in another league compared to Sonys.
I guess RE2 it was a surprise to me.
I mean there were multiplats at Sony's conference, but it was a way smaller ratio. I saw multiplats as show fillers being shown in between exclusive demos.
Out of the 50 games MS showed, how many of them are actually exclusive to them? About 4? And were they new IPs? No. Halo/Gears/Forza/Ori.
I don't see how showing just 12% of exclusive content counts as a plus. Take MS conference, subtract that 12% and put any company's label on it and you had an E3 conference. Could have very well been a PC conference. I'm supposed to be impressed by that?
Sony showed about 7 exclusives during that conference. I don't know how many games they showed total but I'm sure they didn't show anywhere near 50 since they showed 4 long gameplay demos of their big upcoming games. They also showed Dreams gameplay in the post show among other exclusive VR titles.
MS presented effectively. But when you get right down to it, it really wasn't all that impressive.
The game Sony showed off were far more impressive than the X-Box "exclusives" shown.
Microsoft told you they had 18 exculsives, yet showed of all of 4 and they were the same old Forza, Gears, and Halo games, and a Crackdown game that looks cringe worthy. Sony told you exactly what you were getting, and they gave you that.
Then of course as usual, Microsoft just loves to talk, and talk and talk, and talk....and talk, and talk, and talk, and talk.
There is still nothing on X-Box that you ned an X-Box to play. Gears, Halo, Forza, and Crackdown will all be on PC. Can't play Spider-Man, Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Death Stranding on anything else, so Sony's exclusives are you know...exclusive.
Sony did not have to mention they bought some 1st party developers, they already have a bunch of them. Sony does not need to reassure you that they have exclusives worth playing, they have had them for some time now. Microsoft does need to do that, and they did a poor job of it. Those are the reasons why Sony was better.
Xbox wins in term of content and profesionalism of their conference. Also the games being shown is all multiplatform actually makes me happy as I dont need an xbox to play all so no biased feelings there, just excitement.
But sony really hit it big in term of exclusive content. Other than the really amateur level showcase, the games they shown is really gorgeous. The Last of Us 2 alone gets me more hyped than the whole xbox games announcements.
Microsoft had a good presentation, but unfortunately we can't play a presentation.

And yet you continue to relish in the bait and in even things that are not bait. Keep in mind, I don't read your responses, just check the length. :)
None of these games have come out and with Microsoft’s history you really gonna think it’s a safe bet they will actually be good? Until they have a system seller like Nintendo and Sony they can win as many E3s they want it won’t mean anything
@davillain-: Sony did announce any new exclusives though. It was all 3rd party and stuff we’d seen before
@davillain-: can’t you say the same about Sony? No dates just videos. Or what’s the moving goal post there? You also left out crackdown which looks much better than when we last saw it.
You guys do realize that dav is a cow hiding in the closet right?
@Random_Matt: that's how it should be. Exclusives are not good for consumers, only the hardware maker and nut huggers that need a sack to swing on.

I kinda agree that MS conference felt better with so many games to show but bottom like is ... majority of them will be on PS4 , all of them on PC ... and new Gears or Halo or Forza werent something surprising nor new nor better than Ghost of Tsuhima, Death Stranding, Spiderman let alone TLOU 2.
Actually Sony showed 3 new AAA Ips and one of their biggest guns, TLOU 2 first gameplay .. and it looked so good made Tomb raider developer say " animations are not real ", to take it back afterwards.
Also i dare to say that Resident evil 2 was the best multi showed in any conference. Im all over that game already. Till then Sekiro was my first pick showed on MS conference.
What made MS conference stand out for me was the announcements of new studios. Thats was big imo.
Hard to argue that MS's show wasn't the most entertaining so in that regard MS delivered, tbh though to me it looks like MS are aware they mis-stepped this gen and can't afford to go into next gen in the same state, the studio acquisitions and announcements of next gen titles all speak to try and make it clear that they are looking to be far more competitive next cycle.

It was a smaller ratio because the Sony conference had hardly any games. We saw TLOU2, Death Stranding and Spiderman AGAIN. And still no dates either (other than Spiderman) - even the hilariously handled Crackdown 3 got a date.
There were more game reveals at MS's - stuff we actually didn't know about. Multiplat or not, it was still more entertaining than seeing Sony show off ANOTHER Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer.
Yeah, don't care about the post show. You're scraping.
Sonys pacing was awful, and the venue switch stupid. I don't know why you're getting bogged down with exclusivity - as a presser, the MS one was far more entertaining. It showed more games. It announced more games. It had its own megaton with the studio acquisitions. And it didn't have a stupid intermission.
P.S I'm not trying to downplay Sonys exclusives - TLOU2 looked fucking incredible... but come on

I stand by my opinion.
Winners by presenting a bunch of stuff that I can play on other systems?
Seems kinda weird to me, but whatever. At least it wasn't an abomination, like Nintendo's.
MS per usual distracted it’s simple minded fanbase with terms like “exclusive” and “world premiere” and showed off a ton of multiplats. Within their impressive presentation they managed to slip in a new round of forza/gears/halo.
I’m not surprised it worked on the lems.

That Sony mediocre conference really burnt ya I see.
Presentation wise, yeah, I think MS did the best job. Sony's presentation was very meh. However, in the end, it doesn't really matter. Nothing moved me. Nintendo gave their fans what they want. Sony dropped the ball but didn't do anything really stupid, which means MS had to come in with a wowzer presentation, and while good, it wasn't even close to wowzers. That said, this isn't shocking. It is pretty damn rare for E3 to upset the balance in any meaningful way and those are almost exclusively when consoles are first shown. Hopefully all this promise MS has presented comes to fruition as they have been pretty bad at that over the last several years.
