I do not play Nintendo for online to be honest. It really does not need it.
I own Wii for my Nintendo games
I own a 360 for my internet
I also own a ps3 but im not really sure why lol.
I'm curious to what Wii owners think of this. Do you care for online gaming with the Wii? 360's experience for online is super. And PS3's online is still in baby stages, but in progress to be better (Home in particular. At least Sony is thinking of creating their online experience rather than just sitting back). Thoughts?hotdaisy18
Im not too big of an online gamer. Just like Ganon_919 said, the only online game i USED To play a lot was CS.
i play the ocassional match of MKDS, Diddy kong racing, or metroid online, so its good enough for me. Â
Seriously IMHO online is very over-rated on consoles. Most of the genres don't belong to be online to begin with.Dencore
I agree. How many of the 110 million PS2 owners took their PS2's online? Even on the Xbox where online gaming was more the focus the vast majority of Xbox owners did not have live.

See it's not the fact that gamers care about online it's that they're told to care about online. I mean no offense how many people were brought an HDTV to play Halo 2 and Conker at 1080i or Soul Caliber 2 at 720p?

It's not even important either. Who cares if a fighting game isn't online? It was never ment to be. Metroid Prime 3 online? It's a FIRST PERSON ADVENTURE. I think that's why PC's are the biggest platform online
#1 Because it's genres fit it *Split Screen RTS's/MMORPG's?*
#2 It's hard to bring your massive desktop to your friends house :P
I mean I've seen countless gamers on here claiming that they won't buy a game since it's online got cancelled, no offense but that's just ridiculous.

It's all about the games. Strong online isn't needed.
People all over the country, no, all over the world have found people to play the Wii with, and having a blast with it, without online.

Alright. That's a fair choice of words. But let me ask you something in return. Would Gears of War be still popular today if there was zero online functionality? Halo? FF XI? Empire at War? World of Warcraft? C&C3?

All, ALL, everyone of those games would be hampered by split-screen. Many console games like fighters are not. Especially N games.
Online is cool and always accepted. If a game has online, great. But if it deos not and the multi-player runs fine on a single screen, then a lack of online really doesn't bother me.Â

Well, I guess you right. Still, Xiayou is the worst Tekken character ever.Â

That's too bad. I'd probably destroy you with her and her wall blocks. She's my favorite but not my best character ;) My Kazuya on the other hand. Sucks for you. I'd pound you every time with three eleectric wind godfists. A four or maybe fifth if you're close to the wall.

Weren't many of these games tailored for multiplayer?Let me allow you to think about something, though. You list many PC/Xbox/PS2 games. However, isn't WarioWare very popular? isn't it best for multiplayer? However, no online, yet an amazing experience nonetheless.
I think what many people are missing is what Nintendo has hit on with Wiisports and WarioWare. Online functionality may be important for certain multiplayer experiences, but there can exist specific designs that bring back the glory of living room multiplayer. You can list all the games you like, but Wii won't be about Halos or WoW, which put quite an emphasis on online play.Â

Xiayou is actually my best and favorite character. :) I'm more of a exhibitionist than a serious Tekken player. You betta be a highly skilled player though if you expect to do silly moves like 5 EWGF on me.

I'm an agressive girl when it comes to Tekken ;) It really all depends on your opener. You gotta have a few that start either low or high. Brian Fury is a great example of that. Julia as well.

The problem is I know each character set-up from actually knowing how to do "all" of the tekken combos and links. You might could beat me, but wall block or 5 EWGF is not going to happen... Â

Who cares if a fighting game isn't online? :| Something very very wrong with that statement.
hotdaisy18
No nothings wrong with that statement at all, the whole point of a fighting game and what made it popular was that people battle face to face with one another; it's like playing an MMORPG LAN you really aren't getting the full taste of the genre not playing one on one, also unbalances and glitches aren't let through *like they are in every online fighter, finally the littest lag destroys the experience.
I mean online won't ruin the game it's not like you have to play online. But say that every fighter has to have online as a mandartory just doesn't make sense.
Â
If you still don't believe me then there's a reason why 90% of fighting games aren't online.Â

That may be true but here in the US, arcades are a dying breed. Online is needed soon. Verry soon.
