Does it beat it by a mile and does the 360 version look merely "meh"?Whilst it doesn't look *as* great as the PS3 version, it still looks fantastic. I played the 360 version, and i've seen large portions of the PS3 version when my brother was playing.
PS3 is clearly superior, but the 360 version is still an excellent game.

I've only played the 360 version, but it looked pretty damn good to me.
From what I hear the PS3 hasslightly better graphics, but not really by that much. The 360 version is fine.
And hopefully you'll enjoy the game. apparently it's a very love or hate game. I'd recommend it though.
^^^ No, I definately want to experience this game but I dont wan't to play a "gimp'd" version of it. Can you please give me some reasons as to why FF13 is worse than previous installments? New_MessegeThe sense that you play a RPG and a actual world and NPCs that make sense is totally gone, the artistic detail is minimal comparing to old ones that each screen had 100% different things to see and detail with true art Add the mediocre summons, the terrible cut scenes, the boring story and indifferent characters etc Also the game feels extremely linear and when it opens up, is a empty ground with some stones that give you monster hunt missions, the game seems more like a monster hunting game with stats than anything to do with RPG gaming That is all, it is just hardly a RPG, JRPGs were always low on RPG elements, but FF13 has gone to the extreme

What do you mean the detail is minimal or are you just trying to downplay the game in as many ways as you can? So there are no NPCs at all? OMG! :(:(:(:(:( you're joking right? :(
I played it on the XBOX while my cousin played on the PS3. It's not that big of a difference to me, except for the cutscenes. I definitely noticed the difference in cutscenes.
Still is good on 360 though.
Are the cutscenes really that bad? Like YouTube quality bad? Like half the game is a cutscene.... :(I played it on the XBOX while my cousin played on the PS3. It's not that big of a difference to me, except for the cutscenes. I definitely noticed the difference in cutscenes.

If you ask me, the cutscenes still look very pretty on the 360, but at some parts you will notice some blurriness that won't be there on the PS3 version.
Honestly though, It's really not a big deal.

I actually thought it was a step in the right direction, atleast after FFX-2 and FFXII. Unlike many other FF's, you actually have to think in battles in order to win, and know which paradigms to useat which times.
The summons were actually useful in this game, and felt much more than just slightly more powerful spells with long animations, nor were they just plain useless like FFXII's.
If you liked the sphere grid, than you'll like the crysterium.
The game is linear, though it works well with the game's plot, since you're character's have to constantly be on the run. And the game opens up near the end. Really not much different from any other FF where it's pretty linear at first but opens up near the end. Doesn't have a world map like FFX and FFX-2.
Graphics are amazing, on he 360 or PS3. Music's pretty good too.
Story was good. had its emotional moments and kept me interested. Characters were good for the most part. Thought Lightning, Sazh, fang were all great, Snow was alright, Hope was not emo despite what FFXIII haters say, and Vanille was just another Yuffie/Selphie/Rikku/Penelo.
Upgrade system was crap.
optional missions can get redundant with all the traveling
overall a good game. nowhere near the best FF, nowhere near the worst. It's actually alot like FFX in ways, I thought.
Well...curious. I've heard some horror stories about how the game suffers from terrible cut-scenes because of compression, choppy frame-rates in a few areas, low and flat textures along with aliasing issues. IMO, I'm buying FF13 to experience the lush visuals and a stereotypical JRPG plot. Are the graphical problems just exaggerated or is FF13 on the Xbox 360 really the console's very own PS3 Bayonetta port? Having meh visuals is pretty much going to kill the experience for me and please don't call me shallow and pretend that graphics don't matter to you. New_Messege
The cutscenes look fantastic on the 360 (its the version i own), sure they'll look better on the PS3 due to them being 1080p but not significantly so. There's only 2 or 3 area's with noticeable frame rate drops in the entire game. The in-engine graphical differences are minimal, kinda like RDR 360 compared to RDR PS3, the 360 is lower res and thats pretty much it.
Overall still looks great, still plays great.

God no, the difference is a 720p movie to a 1080p movie, very rarely you might notice an artifact or two due to compression but thats about the worst of it.

the difference in RDR is bigger than the difference in ff13. even tho u can barely tell a difference in RDR. final fantasy gameplay looks almost identical u cant tell teh difference but the cutscene is something u will be able to tell the difference big time. cutscenes on ps3 version looks very very sharp will on 360 version it looks washed out.
the game is boring anyways i advice u not to get it. i played around 5 hours aof this game and never touch it again it, progression in the game feels like a chore and it is VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY repetitive
FFX was my favorite Final Fantasy of all time. How does it stack up to FFX?New_Messege
if FF X is a 10 then FF 13 is a 3. ff X was extremely good everything about i was amaizing from cutscenes to graphics to gameplay to music everything about it was epic. ff13 on the other hand nothing about it is epic u will not feel the awsomeness that ffX offered.

There are NPCs scattered all throughout FFXIII.

The story isn't as good, but it's ok as far as JRPGs go. It has some interesting concepts, but ultimately has too many problems for it to be considered "good." The combat system is better than FFX and the map design is slightly less linear in terms of dungeons, but it doesn't offer as much in terms of side content, minigames, etc. Gran Pulse's large field is much larger than the calm lands though.
if you have a 360 only then no. if you have a ps3 only then no, if you have both, then no.
FF13 is just not very good.

Aww man...guess I'll buy it when it goes Platinum and ends up in a bargain bin...or maybe I'll rent/borrow. I was actually contemplating spending on this game.[QUOTE="hakanakumono"][QUOTE="New_Messege"]FFX was my favorite Final Fantasy of all time. How does it stack up to FFX?New_Messege

Why don't you rent it, get 4 chapters in and see if you want to keep playing?
Cutscenes are the only nitcable difference due to them being in a much higher res. Better soudn too.
Overall? Nothing to jump and shout about. RDR had a much bigger difference, missing objects, poorer framrate, washed out, blurry visuals etc
Both scored the same mind.
if all you have is a 360 then just get it for the 360, i played it on both and yes the ps3 version looked and played better but the 360 version was good too, if you have a choice then get it for the ps3 and dont listen to people saying this game sucked or whatever i personally liked it alot, the battles were fun and i didnt have to mindlessly travel around for 2 hours going the wrong way. also it had something to do with the ps3 controller being better suited or "right at home" feeling because of FF7-FF12 being on PS consoles as well.

It played better? It's the same game, a game with minimal interaction ...
No. The 360 version WAAAAY worse. Get the PS3 version. Or just wait until you get a PS3 and then get it. GamerProDude
No just no, its about the same difference as the RDR versions. Unless you think the PS3 version of RDR is waaaaay worse than the 360 version?.

But go ahead and make up more silly rules.

I didn't make up anything, everything I said was fact. Feel free to make things up though :lol:I find it strange that people can love X but hate XIII, my guess is those that say such were just fairly young for X. IMO the dialogue is better in XIII than X or XII. My favourites were always VI and VIII, and I say XIII is pretty good.

To the people saying the only difference is CGI, that's so wrong!
Once you get to that open field area the games FPS drops like ****
Because FFX did not feel like it was missing very key elements. FF13 was. You went from point a to point b and by the time you could get to the sidequest you just did not care anymore. Not to mention its missing towns...I find it strange that people can love X but hate XIII, my guess is those that say such were just fairly young for X. Anyway wait till it is in the bargain bin or rent it, 360 version is fine
