Never left, warrenty doesn't extend outside of the US so I have to pay for it to be shipped to get fixed, and it's wayy too expensive to do that so I'm not bothering. I told myself two times with RROD and I'm done and those two times have passed so I'm letting it rot. All I wanted it for was games like ninja gaiden but oh well.

Question: Dare you say SMG is better than Civilization IV?
Dare you guess as well that I'm not laughing at your response? I don't care if you've said it yet, I'm laughing just because you thought it.
PC gaming doesn't require games. It requires Source SDK and the rest can be left up to dedicated modders.
For those not aware: Dystopia>Halo.
Thread phail.
I like consoles because they usually have more diversity than what is available on the PC. The PC lacks in Platforming, Fighting, JRPGS, Sport titles, etc... Sure I like FPS but I like to throw in a fighting game or platformer/action adventure game in the mix ever so often. Shift05
Are you just TRYING to raise my blood pressure?
I must commend you on ignoring PC games. Really smash up job, mate.
Consoles are a more social experience in the living room in front of the Tv with other people. I don't like gaming on my PC alone in my room for hours at a time. Just not as fun.HappyAppe

PC gaming is genuinely better.
Better games, true BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY and (cross) compatability, best online games, best control, best online services, best third party services, best third party software, best digital distro services, best mod community (by a huge margin).

What did I say that would point towards me ignoring PC games. They dont have alot to offer in those categories, sport titles I may be a little off, but they will not be recieving madden 09, or NBA live, and alot of times the titles are not ported well to the PC. Just look at gamespot most of the recent sport titles are not even reviewed for the PC.

In those categories? As far as sports titles, you should be ashamed you're even playing them. That's a non-issue. A non-point. If we consider that a point of supremacy, the world goes to hell.
The PC lacks in JRPGs you say? Most consoles are lacking EXTREMELY badly in WRPG category, so I don't see what this nets you.
As far as fighting and platforming....
You need to recognize that the PC has indomitable strength in practically everything else.
Because despite all the so called advantages the PC has over the console, it's easier to buy a console and game, plug in and play. Not worry about if your PC can run the game, install, crash, etc....
I honestly don't know anyone personally who games on a PC besides emulators and judging by the elitist PC gamers on this board Im glad I dont know any.

Better rated games and a plethora of them generally.
Dystopia>Halo
And that's all that needs to be said.
But I'm sure you've seen the lists that have been compiled in favor of PC gaming over the years. Whether or not you appreciate these games is up to you. But don't deny that they're better. From a purely technical standpoint based on numbers the PC has better games. It's a factual statement regarding the prevailing opinion. If your opinion differs, I grant you that right, but you fit into a minority and stand opposed to the gaming sites you refer to for most of your reviews.

Well, you would have to define "better" games, I guess. I mean if you were talking about AAA titles, then sure..the PC has that. If you're talking about graphics, then sure...the PC has that too. But do graphics, and higher reviews mean they're "better" games? I'm sure there are some people who would disagree, but I guess their opinion doesn't really matter anyways...right?
Their opinion doesn't fit with the consensus. I told you that you have the right to disagree and hold your opinion.
I cannot make a factual statement if it all boils down to relativism. Read the thread topic. Does it make you laugh?
Then why am I being ridiculed instead? "gaming is more fun on consoles. It's just asinine. It's forgettable. I should be able to say whatever after that. Absolutely anything. We might as well wear hard hats and start tossing oranges at eachother, because that's what System Wars boils down to at that point.

YEA...Nothing like lugging around a PC tower, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers/headphones, games, cables, ect ect ect...Really that is a thing of the past as consoles have taken a PC and shrunk it down to a size you CAN move with ease.

I go to school and work full time along with having a wife and owning a house, I don't have time to f' around with all the hardware issues that come with PC gaming, I want to just buy the game and play it, and if you try to tell me that there are no issues then you are full of crap and you should leave the boards.
I did get a RROD on my launch 360, but I bought the replacement plan and swapped the defective one out SAME DAY for a brand new elite, and if this one RROD I'll do the same thing.

I don't understand what was the point in even saying I was ignoring titles on the PC when what I said was obviously correct. I didn't say the PC was lacking in WRPG's or other genres so I don't see the point in mentioning that, but the 360 currently has Mass effect, and Oblivion. While the PC has received the Witcher, helgate london, and Oblivion this gen. I don't see how having one more title makes it seem as though the consoles are doing extremely bad. (I may have missed a few WRPGS released this gen for the PC but it probably wont be a large amount like your trying to make it seem.)
As for sports tittles, just because you may not like them doesn't mean others do not.

Why would you move the console? Why would you move a PC?
The argument was and is this: I can sit next to my friend and play with him on the same TV with the same console. There's no moving involved in that. Why are you trying to make a direct comparison?
My point was, if you're looking for social gaming, PC gaming has just as much of it as any console...moreover, you said this:
"thing of the past." Thing of the past: split screen is a thing of the past. It's a non-issue. Everyone's gaming online. Do you play with your buds while they're sitting next to you? Do you play COD2, COD4 split screen online? No, you don't. Because it DOESN'T HAVE split screen online. What are they trying to tell you?
What do you do instead? You log on, check up your friends XBL gamertag and join a game with him. Guess what PC gamers do? Guess what we've been doing for a while now?
Are you beginning to see why this argument is bunk? As far as ease of use....guess what? Log in, join up, go game. Play with your clan, or whatever the hell. If you want social gaming, LAN parties are an option.
Um, guess what. Arcades have multiplayer. Consoles have ALWAYS had split screen multiplayer. WWWWWOW. WWWWWOW. WAVE OF THE FUTURE!

Because Hermits overrate every freaking game on the PC and praise it like it's the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Jesus already freaking came under the name of Super Mario Galaxy.

this statement made me so mad on so many levels..
so your saying that every pc game is the second coming of jesus christ, well what about halo, Mass effect, MGS, GTA, Gears...
SMG is NOT that good, rly, its just nintendo's rehash of there best platforming games with a few level gimmicks its nothing to get excited all over about, and your prasing it as the second coming of jesus christ right?
gaming is more fun on consols if YOU think it is, assuming you have a brain your going to make prefrences that suit your needs, for me, PC, for others, oh well,
Lan parties are not that hard to set up, + no one goes over there friends house to play splitscreen halo3, thats just stupid.
but yeah this statement just showed the stupidity level in the thread.

I don't see why you are still naming other genres, I already pointed out I didn't say the PC was lacking in anything other than what I pointed out. I stated why I enjoyed consoles, because they had more variety, the 360 at least has a title for every genre, while I cant say the same for PC gaming.
as for why would that hurt PC gaming, why wouldnt it, there are many people which would like to have alot of variety of games, and would have a strong chance of being turned off by PC gaming.

Consoles have more variety because PC gaming is lacking in very specific genres (some of them non-entities)?
That's a non-sequitor.

BobHipJames
Your acting like a whole genre is being very specific, a genre is very vague, what description would be more vague when describing a game? JRPG is probably being a little more specific, but the difference between the average WRPG, and JRPG is vast enough to use separation. Also what genre are you talking about being an non-entitie? Its not like I'm making up genres that people have never heard of before.
Both JRPGs and WRPGs have character development and character customizability. Do differences in magnitude in those two respects ACTUALLY make them varied enough to make two different genres? Sub-genres MAYBE, and I'd be willing to refer to them as sub-genres.
But most of the differences are stylistic....in respect to visuals, character development, and gameplay elements.
At any rate, the PC has plenty of AMMORPGs (Asian massively multiplayer online RPGs) and thus is certainly not lacking in a genre which consoles CLEARLY are a little lackluster in....
Honestly, I think that if the XBox 360 or Wii could get a few more AMMORPGs they'd have enough variety for me to consider them.
